PLEASE HELP Fire Launcher Deleted Need Desperate Help - Fire HD 8 and HD 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

(Please note that my device is rooted using KingRoot)
So I was reorganising my Fire Launcher and I was deleting a few of the built in Kindle apps since I didnt use them, and without realising, Im pretty sure I deleted the Fire Launcher...
Now whenever I tap home I see my wallpaper for a second, then a black screen and then it takes me into my most recently used app. Is their any way to reinstall the launcher? And if not, can I recover my system from an earlier date / factory reset it? Im really worried ill have to factory reset it, but Im open to try anything.
Please help me, I really need this fixing.
UPDATE - Tried factory resetting and restoring from 7 days ago, and the backup file won't install. I'll try with a backup from 30/12/2015

Please, someone help. I desperately need this fixing.
PLEASE

IS ANYBODY GOING TO HELP?
I might seem impatient, but my parents check my device to see what i've been up to everyday, and if I can't get this fixed, then my parents will never forgive me.
SO CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME?

Do you remember if you have adb on(usb debugging) if so push any random launcher apk to sd card and adb install it. If you dont then idk.

Installed nova using adb, worked perfectly. Thank you so so much.

the other thing you can do (i know this cause i borked apex while trying to move it to a system app the first time) is long press the home softkey. This "should" give you the option of opening a browser from which you can download a new launcher

SHEW!!! I used RootJunkySDL's supertool to downgrade the system (5.1.2), and got everything back to stock. ~sigh~ Also, happy to say, I re-used another RootJunkySDL Supertool to do everything proper! Root, OTA update blocked, lock screen ads removed, etc... ALL working like a proper Android now!! HOORAY!
HOW did you install using ADB?? I am having the same issue.... long story, but I factory reset tablet (wanted to start over)... I put the firelauncher back where it belongs (system, priv-apps), but apparently, not correctly, so I have blank screen, and no longer have root. Seriously want to shoot myself right now, along with the ad-bloated fire! ADB is on, and I can get to the screen by factory resetting, but how do I launch any app, or install anything???
OH please help... anyone.... please help.

Am I fully rooted or is something else going on. Can someone explain please. I only wanted to root to delete all the bloatware on the phone.

if you've already removed apps you will have to start over with the downgrading section most likely, but it seems to me like you missed a step somewhere
Ok, I dont know where I am in the process. Like I said, I have apps deleted, superuser, tianium, rom manager. All that. So you suggest starting the downgrade process. Can you send a link please. I am on 2.2 not 2.2.1 and I have s off.
Your best bet is to go back to the force 2.2.1 thread and force the upgrade.
You can check root access in android terminal emulator.
Open it up and type "su" without the quotes. If it come up with the # symbol you have root. If not you don't.

Yea, you have to restore all the stock apps from what I heard too.
Typed "su" in terminal. I got the pound sign. So im rooted. But to clarify. In order to force that 2.2.1 update I will need to install all apps again then use the guide to force the update.
There is a stock ota backup on here somewhere, use it to get 2.2.1 if you really are rooted.

if you have clockwork recovery installed all you need to flash is the update.zip... BUT if you can't get those apps reinstalled it probably won't work... but that depends on which apps you removed and I don't know for sure which ones matter
What apps are removed? You should be able to adb push them back to your phone then just boot into clockwork and flash the update.zip
EDIT:
Dont give up on Android just yet, this phone is a bit harder to get updated and rooted than most..just takes a bit of patience is all...you'll get it.
couple questions
Ok, I can not use adbs so anything with adb I can not do but thanks. Also How do I get into clockwork recovery? I deleted asphalt 5 game, the demo videos, the tmobile app pack.
Why cant you use adb?
To get into clockwork, you can try using rom manager and selecting boot into recovery or you can power off your phone, pop out your battery for a sec to kill the quick boot then reboot it by holding down the volume down and pushing the power button for a few seconds, release the power while still holding the volume down.
reason for no adb
I use a school pc and thus have no administrator rights to run adb commands. I have rom manager installed but everytime I do the thing that says boot into recovery, it just takes me to a screen with an exclamation point.
Sounds like you dont have clockwork installed.
Go into your rom manager app and select install clockwork recovery

[Q] LauncherPro Plus keeps refreshing - possible SD Card issue?

I wasn't sure where to post this so I hope this will do...
All of a sudden today my MT4G with LauncherPro Plus keeps refreshing or restarting or something on the home screen. Sometimes it does it every minute or so other times it does it so rapidly the home screen isn't even showing up before it does it again.
Worst part aside from the annoying bright flash every time it happens is that it kicks me out of apps to do it.
It's not a Force Close and no errors pop up it just refreshes to the Home screen as if I hit the Home button or restarted LauncherPro.
I am so confused.
I have no new apps recently, but I did Root a few days ago using The Unlockr's Visionary root.sh method. Had no problems when doing it and phone has been fine since until this. No custom ROM yet, still on Stock 2.2.1 while I research which one I want to get.
I already wrote to the LauncherPro people who thought it might be because Keep in Memory was checked, but it isn't checked so no help there.
There was one point when I unmounted my SD card to put it in the pc to get to the files because this issue kept kicking me out of Astro and I couldn't get anything done. And while the card was out, it did not do it. As soon as the card was back in though it started up again.
Sometimes restarting LP will help, but other times it will make it go more frequently. So frustrating.
Can anyone help or at least point me in the right direction. I have a video of it if that will help to post it, but it doesn't show much, just the home screen restarting several times. Also happy to provide any more info anyone thinks might be helpful it stopping this.
Thanks so much!
Jen

Lol try the Uninstall method but instead install another launcher then press the home button to choice the newly installed launcher and see if that works ?

Tried ADW Launcher and it did the same thing :-( Guess it is not LP after all. I put LP back and reboot. As of now it is not doing it, but I am very afraid to reboot or do anything in case it starts up again LOL
Can't help wondering if when I flash a new ROM it might stop altogether...

well depending on what ROM you have installed (Im assuming stock froyo after reading the OP), just run the ROM Manager app and then "reboot into recovery". from there, the recovery screen comes up. you can then "wipe cache partition", then "advanced>wipe dalvik cache". finally, "advanced>fix permissions" and after its done you can then reboot your phone. this USUALLY fixes a lot of problems with FC's and other issues

Update: It has continued to do it, not constantly, and seemingly randomly, but yeah, not totally fixed. Going to flash the new CM7, trying to fix other issues, maybe that will help.
I did try your above advice, wiped the caches, fixed permissions... it was stable for a few days then started up again. Really bad at first, like I wasn't even seeing the screen before it flashed again repeatedly. That was about a week or so ago... Now it is still doing it but every couple minutes instead. I mostly don't notice it unless I am in one of the apps it kicks me out of when it happens. Really really annoying. hopefully the new ROM will help.
Has anyone else been having this problem or found a solution. I've been trying to flash a new ROM this weekend, but can't stay in any apps long enough to prepare the phone for it. Titanium Backup and ROM Manager keep closing because of the launcher restarts. Not force closes, they just exit out and go back to the home screen which just keeps refreshing. I can't stay in Apps2Sd Pro long enough to move apps, can't stay in the market to update apps, and can't uninstall anything, I can't even stay in Astro long enough to do anything. It's driving me insane and I really want to make sure as many apps as I can are moved to the SD card and backed up to flash the new ROM. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] Root Noob needs help!

because i have no shame, i'll admit it. this is my second root ever. first was on my droid 2 r2d2 to remove the crap that wasnt necessary.
using this tutorial, just google samsung continuum froyo, and its on addictive tips. I followed the directions properly.
Basically, I used odin3 with a custom froyo rom, i did everything correctly, and i began to use titanium backup to remove some bloatware. what i removed was the GO Launcher stuff and now my homescreen is just a black screen. I've tried using recovery mode and restored that way. i've done that 10+ times. i cant get to any apps, only pressing the bottom ticker to access my text messages and notifications slide down bar. thats it. no apps. at all. can someone tell me how to revert back to the original software? then i will re-root again and this time NOT remove anything. or someone can show me properly how to remove it.
thanks. itll help a lot!
Go launcher (in most roms for the continuum) the ONLY launcher installed so when you got rid of it with TiB you screwed the whole UI. Try booting into Recovery wipe data fact reset wipe cache. then reboot. pull battery reflash on odin, make sure repartition is unchecked. let it reboot. should be back to normal.
can you explain that in a different way. i tried wiping in recovery mode it didnt work
Are you using <2e> recovery (samsung stock) or CwM?
You removed the launcher, this is why. You probably deleted a file called TouchWiz30Launcher.apk
You have a few options now, do you have CWM installed? If so go download another rom, put it on your sdcard some how then install it. It will save you much time and you don’t have to remove the bloat as it’s already removed.
If you aren’t familiar with CWM(clock work recovery) I would suggest researching it s you will be dealing a lot with it.
I would recommend reflashing via odin so that you have all files again. If you want to get rid of bloat, install nuckin or eco07-clean they both are good basic roms. I am currently working on a rom which is called miunia it is as minimalistic as I can make it. It is still in beta forms but it can be installed through odin. If you want the launcher I suggest flashing one of mine for the time being..

if you deleted the actual file, just rebooting the phone won't fix the issue. you will have to replace the launcher or factory reset.
For future reference, another option is to get on android market from your computer and download a launcher. It will send it to your phone and install automatically. Then, when you hit the home button, it should run the launcher.

Uh oh... Can I fix this? Rom Toolbox Pro error

Hey guys,
I tried using Rom Toolbox Pro to change my battery icon... after trying to install, the error "com.android.systemui has stopped working" continually popped up. I had to reboot by holding vol+, vol- and lock.
After rebooting, all soft buttons and the status bar are gone. I can't manage to get them back. I also can't manage to restore the battery icon - RTP prompted me to backup the icons before trying to install the new ones, and I did.
What have I done?
You've borked the system UI. Need to flash a new ROM or flash a factory image, I think.

That's not the clock work recovery. It's the bootloader. That's where you need to be to flash the image though.
First download the Nexus 7 image from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#nakasijro03d
Once you have downloaded it extract the file twice until you see image-nakasi-jro03d.zip
Take that zip and move it to the directory where you have fastboot on your computer.
Open your command prompt pointing at that directory.
Then, type:
Code:
fastboot devices
if it returns a number you are good to go.
Next type:
Code:
fastboot -w update image-nakasi-jro03d.zip
This will wipe your user data and restore stock recovery. But you should be good to go.
geez, just reflash your rom, youll be ok.

haha sorry if my posts were a bit over the top, I was just sitting in bed having a play (with my Nexus 7........), then all of a sudden my tablet is seemingly wrecked simply from trying to change the battery icon... I FREAKED
Did something similar myself.
Just downloaded the factory image and flashed just the system.img file using fastboot and rerooted. A few system apps played up, most were fixed by wiping the cache but i had to delete all data from the contacts app, it resynced fine anyway.
To clarify extract the factory image to get the system.img and use the following
fastboot flash system system.img
Just rewrites the system partition.

Hello friends,
I am curious why, when such issues occured with your device, you did not contact Rom Toolbox Dev. to ask for help?
I am part of the support team from Rom Toolbox Pro, and I believe the post right before me is from someone who reached out to me to ask me about this, so allow me to explain the solution here real fast:
What happened is that when you changed the icon, it simply didn't work and messed up the UI. This occurs sometimes, and is the right time to restore a backup of the icons.
Problem is that now you can't restore, because the soft keys are all gone, and the Nexus 7 has no hard keys to do the dirty work.
So, here is the solution; you must use Root Browser to switch out the Systemui.apk and framework.apk files from the backup folder to the /system/app folder.
Where is the backup stored, you ask? Well, since it's very easy to break a rom by restoring the framework and systemui to the wrong rom, the backups are actually placed inside the app's data partition. This is to prevent tampering. If you are reading this post, then I assume you know what you're doing and are doing this with the EXACT same rom as the backups were created from.
The directory of the backups is /data/data/com.jrummy.liberty.toolboxpro/files/status_bar_backup/
Simply copy these over and paste them in /system/app, maybe renaming rather than deleting the old ones, just in case, then paste these and reboot your device.
And now your systemui and framework should be all restored.
Hope this helps! Be sure to contact the developer next time you need any help, We have arguably the best customer service of all the Play Store
And be sure to thank the one who referred me to this thread, if this helps!

Hi Master Ramy,
I was the one who emailed JRummy.
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying actually. I guess your reply answers the OP's question - that is, in the event that we get the "com.android.systemui has stopped working" error , then we should do the stuff you said?
My issue is different... I hadn't swapped out my battery icons yet, cos I wanted to test the restore function in ROM Toolbox first before doing so. So I backed up both systemui and framework-res using ROM Toolbox, then simply tried to restore them using ROM Toolbox. But I got a toast notification saying "failed to get icons". I didn't get a big error like the OP's, but it was alarming enough that I didn't even try to change the icons in the end.
Are you saying that I should manually move my systemui and framework-res backups to system/app in order for ROM Toolbox to be able to restore them?

Need help with my GS4!

Hey guys,
I'm new to this site and actually sort of new to androids so sorry if I mess something up here. I had my gs4 rooted and had titanium backup pro installed, I was removing bloatware and trying to dodge what I thought were system files and just get the widgets and uneeded stuff out. Apparently I messed something up to where my gallery stopped working. After reading I tried everything to get it to work and figured since it was a new phone i would just do a factory reset. I did this in both ways under settings and hard reset. Both times during the phones setup process I got errors saying that the text-to-speech, gallery, and setting all stopped working so I get all the way to the last step in setup process and it gives me the settings error and takes me back a step to where I can't even use my phone now. I've tried installing cwm manually to try and flash a new rom but Im not sure if im doing it right. Any help would greatly be appreciated..

Hey guys,
I'm new to this site and actually sort of new to androids so sorry if I mess something up here.

Use Odin to flash back to stock and when you root again use freeze instead of deleting stuff so you can defrost incase you freeze something you actually need.

Using the search function would get you the answers you need. Not only will it help you figure things out, but it is also the rules.
Because you are new, I will point you in the right direction. Go to the Development section and read the "Factory Stock" ODIN thread. It will have all the information and downloads you need to get back to stock. If you read the thread, you shouldn't have any more questions. Make sure you do a factory reset after you ODIN to stock so it clears any remaining rogue data. When you are done, I suggest you do as much reading as you can before you do anything else to your phone. Read for weeks if you need to. If you have any more questions, try the search function to try to find the answers before you post. Good luck.

If you'e not AT&T look on sammobile for your firmware... anyways... you may be able to get it rooted and unfreeze everything, then reset, and not have to flash back to stock....
People, people people....ALWAYS FREEZE first, then if you know what your doing delete. leads to nothing but f/c if you make a mistake, but its easy to un-freeze, than having to odin back to stock.
