So I switched to GB from WM65 and found it's pretty slow but usable. I don't have time to switch back to WM65 so I'll stick with GB.
Now, one big issue I have is the phone app (not wifi app, just plain phone). When I dial a number, the screen goes black to prevent pressing the wrong button with your ear etc. Problem is, I can't get back to the screen, meaning I don't have access to the dialpad. Annoying when you're on queue and you need to press a key to get to a menu... like repeat a message on your messagebank for instance.
Second issue, is after the call, the phone is frozen for about a minute or two. Nothing responds. Then it comes back alive.
I haven't found any threads on this, though users seem to complain about wifi calling, which is not my case.
Anyone has seen this ?
Txs.
Can you please tell us which ROM that is?
I know that this issue was fixed, but maybe your ROM is just too old. Or maybe the developer didn't include the fix.
I had this problem with almost every gingerbread build on my HD2.
Im not sure what's causing it, but i fixed this issue by installing screebl lite from play store. While this app enabled, phone would wake up normally after a call in 99.9% of the cases. You should try the same.
Strangely, i don't have any issues on ICS or JB roms.

Okay, I have looked throughout that thread's pages, and it seems that you're not the only one with that problem. So apparently the ROM doesn't have the fix (which is weird, because tytung almost always fixes everything in a rom before moving onto another one).
You're better off changing the ROM, or maybe trying to figure out what is wrong with your device and those who're facing the same issue.

Well, the fix wasn't a flashable zip, it was implemented. It was a problem with the proximity sensor if I recall correctly. And since I don't use this ROM, I can't really help you much.
I tried googling the problem (it's fun, you should try it) and this came up : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1376251
Your sensor/screen could be dirty making it hard for the proximity to detect. You can try another non-GB ROM and see if the problem is still present.
I am sorry I can't help.

Right, I'll go with the hypothesis that a dirty screen hinders proximity sensors. That should affect a black screen DURING a call (issue I'm also facing) but that should not affect the phone once the call is terminated, should it ? What I mean is, in my case, when I hang up a call, I can't use my phone for a couple of minutes, until it comes back to life. I will get a new "screen protector" and see what happens in the meantime though.
As for a hotfix, seems odd there is none out there. Thanks for trying.
Currently running the latest Chroma rom with the stock kernel. The little circle that's supposed to show up around the lock icon at the bottom doesn't show up 90% of the time (http://prntscr.com/abhku3). I'm trying to unlock it with a bluetooth (not NFC) fitness band.
This isn't a problem with the band, because I tried putting Face Unlock as well, but the detection doesn't show up most of the time.
Is there any way to fix this?

I haven't had an issue with smart unlock before, I pair it with my Moto 360. I don't know if it's the kernel because I personally use the Taurus kernel and not the stock one, that might be a reason but again I don't know for sure at all. Maybe on Multirom I'll install a second Chroma and leave it on stock and see if I can get it to reproduce what you're having, I'll get back to you in about 20-30 minutes on how it goes.
-Edit- Might be a bit longer since I need to redownload the latest build. My internet can be slow at times
-Edit 2- I haven't had the issue, at least with my watch. Not too sure how much further I could help you :/

It is a bit strange. I do have one final thing to test out actually. I just remembered my girlfriend got a generic bluetooth fitness band thing for her senior year, I'll charge that up and see if that gives the same issue since I still have the multirom boot with it. It'll take probably an hour to charge it since it's just a generic one.

I'm certain it's not the band's fault cause gave unlock isn't detected either. I'll try the pure nexus and cm roms to see if it makes a difference.

Especially if the band was working fine on other roms or devices. CM 13 is my main daily driver rom and I haven't had a single issue with several bluetooth devices I own, I always will recommend it xD The fitness band is almost charged and I'll test that out here real soon

I only got the band 2 days ago and have just tested it on Chroma.
Quick question, does CM13 support Volume Key to unlock AND double tap status/nav bar to lock? My power button is screwed up and it barely registers. Also, are the latest nightlies stable or should I go with an older build, if I don't plan to update my rom in the next month?

Double tap to sleep, yes. Let me quick boot into it to make sure for the volume key. If you get Kernel Auditor and the right kernel you can have double tap to wake which is wonderful. Ok it does have the option for volume key unlock. I haven't had any issues with the nightlies, a while back I had one that would randomly freeze my touchscreen but that was early last month.

Glad to hear it's working! I've been having some issues on Marshmallow in general lately, contacts aren't syncing from Google. But, I'm gonna open up my own help thread for that xD
Hi all, I tried everything I found on the Internet.
I thought it was a cable problem, a contact problem.
I opened and closed my Note 3 several times with no luck.
This is what happens: my GPS cannot fix any satellite.
I made a video to show what happens.
Note that it was trying to fix since about 30 minutes.
Whoever is able to help me solving this problem has a free beer as a reward

This has been happening to me for over a year and to people since the note 3 came out. FIrst we tried lifting the antennae prongs, then we rebuilt NV GPS through the service menu... Still nothing.
Now I am trying to install custom roms...
I installed Darklord's note 7 custom rom on my note 3 and the gps is working... but it has happened before that it works for a few days or a week and then dies again.

Thx, but it is my wife's phone.
I prefer not having GPS, but using a stable and tested rom.
In caso I decide to mod, I'll consider this ROM.
Thx for the help
I found a thread on Reddit that fixed my GPS once, then a thread here that fixed it better the 2nd time. It has to do with pulling the back off and bending the tabs that connect to the GPS antenna on the rear. These threads tell and show all. Follow these and GPS issues should be resolved.

I am having the same issues on my Samsung Note 3 sm-n9005. Accelerometer, proximity sensor, barometer, light sensor, gyroscope sensor and magnetic sensor. All dead now.
I am on Android 6 MM. Using custom ROM DarkWolf. Before flashing custom ROM (stock 5.0) no issues (only issues I having was always constantly "Searching for GPS..." on each time reboot). I also try reflash the ROM and tried another custom ROM Phronesis ROM, no luck. I haven't try flash CM yet. Some mention because of Android version upgrade like lollipop to marshmallow will cause this issues. Currently I unsure is software or hardware cause it. Also, it might cause by motherboard. I really have no idea.

Try installing Purify custom rom. It solved all my issues at least for the past week. I think the gps is controlled by the kernel not the modem. I'm using purify rom with purify 1.1 kernel. Sent from my SM-N920C using XDA-Developers mobile app
note3 for indoor with apgs. In the beginning, I think it's GPS issue leading me can't play Pokemon. But indoor, we can only have agps, so I try to look at the setting and see if this works for you
1. Use faster GPS to change the NTP server by select continent and region you are in.
2. In faster GPS, go to advance to change setting. Change value of intermediate_post to 0. This one is important and I find it helps to lock my location by agps in a second. otherwise, location is found with 4km error
3. Use GPS status app to reset and download the agps data. This make the error distance even shorter
4. Of course,restart and enjoy
I do this and I can lock my location even indoor with a second. Hope it works for you. I try this out by myself and hope this helps you
Cheers

I cant say that. For me fingerprint works fast and good.
A friend with a S7 has got no better fingerprint detection
I would suggest to install the latest modem
I've tried everything and mine doesn't work. It worked for two days, then died, and two days later it revived for two hours, after trying the battery drain trick that seemed to work on other phones. It then died again, and hasn't worked ever since. Now I don't expect it to work, and I live happier without worrying about it. Unless someone comes up with a "magical" solution, which I highly doubt. The phone can work without it and the fingerprint scanner is not even among the main 5 reasons why I bought this phone (those being RAM size, screen size, screen resolution, storage capacity, camera quality)
Did you try to update the modem firmware?
IF not, download 23S version and flash in recovery.

You can find all the firmwares here. 419D or 26s have been reported to fix the fingerprint scanner.

My fingerprint sensor died right after using calibration. The sensor accuracy seemed bad (it would unlock just 1 out of every 3 times, even after having registered the same finger twice, as recommended by many people) so I decided to try calibration. I calibrated the sensor and it died.

Lucky you. I hope it lasts for you
As a last resort, I just tried flashing the latest Cuoco92 ROM via flashboot, and that didn't help, either, so I think I'm definitely giving up on this. I've been enjoying the rest of the phone features with no problems, but this fingerprint issue, although it lets you keep using the phone, is quite annoying, and proof (again) of how disastrous (if not nonexistent) Chinese QC is. Sometimes I even think about filing a dispute through Paypal and getting a refund.
My FP dead after less than one week I got Lex829 now I got the phone almost 6 months. I was running Tora33 23S stock rom for long time with the dead Fingerprint. Recently I installed (flash by TWRP) official stock Eui rom 26S and tried test Fingerprint just for fun, miracle does happen it came back alive and still working until now with stock 26S rom. FP speed kinda slow but its ok for me just glad its working again
I just got this. The first October update was 105mb and I updated yesterday. IDK what this one is about.
Me too
I too have got it. Interesting..
It appears that they fixed the fingerprint and CPU lock bug along with the Smart Lock blank screen bug and the read and write speeds issues. I guess they finally did it. Next up is Pie I hope...
Here also. After yesterday an update was delivered, I am now offered a new update. The installation is now running. I noticed after yesterday's update that there were significant "memory / processing delays", which had previously not occurred on my device. The update is 203 mb, yesterday only 103.5mb were delivered.
Updated again with the 203mb . No the smart lock empty screen is not fixed. ?

Toke some time to install. It didn't disable CAMERA2API (installed before 9.6.14). I hope my battery gets better. Since last update battery was being drained really fast.

Buddy is camera 2 api still not enabled by default by xiaomi yet?

No. No camera2api by default. Hope Xiaomi enable it when they release pie. They are embarrassed to enable it as Gcam mods , put Mi camera application to shame.

Xiaomi can't move it so it will never be "fixed". You need to hold your phone differently.

Agree. With proper daylight it perform well . But Google's post processing is extraordinary.

Here you go, you can reset the proximity with this app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiledirection.proximitysensorreset&hl=en
But the position of proximity sensor is really bad, especially for the left arm holding phone users, like my self...so, that will never be fixed of course.
@Benjamin_L What @ramir0 is saying is right. This is a bug which existed even before the phone went on sale and still not fixed.
Ok, so this update seems to be the real one with some bugs fixed, the first one (100Mb) was just security update, this one should have some fixes, but without changelog, who knows what...
EDIT:
I just did a quick Andro Bench test.
My writing speed goes up, from 174Mb to 220Mb, everything else is like before update.
