Any temperature reading as to know what you term as hot?
Sent from my XT1562 using Tapatalk

If you able to root the phone you could install an app called Coolify. I don't know what it does but somehow my phone is cooler and it doesn't slow down at all.

If I record a four minutes video then is gets very hot and I power off for some minutes to get cold and record again. I dont know the temperatura but its hot, never gets than hot.

I was playing with CoC just now (temperature was 35'C) and then I took a 5 minutes video. The temperature increased from 35 to 38. It's slightly warm for me, normal I would say.

Upto 40 or even 42 can be termed as normal when phone is under load. Anything above than that is hot.
Although that's my perception.

It is normal. My tablet gets hot only by browsing online.. All nexus 10 are getting easily warm. The problem is if the tablet reboots often for that reason. So, don't worry it is normal.

May be I should've said Real Hot... I mean. I don't get any reboots from it but it does feel Way above just warm.... Maybe I'll Download a CPU app to watch the temperature and the post a screen shot..

My tablet gets hot enough when browsing the internet.. I think that if i try a game, the tablet may explode .. So i think it is normal. But to be sure check the temperatures..

Try to stay in one of the other million threads on heat issues: it's not "overheating" unless the device goes beyond operating parameters and shuts down/reboots anyway. "Warm" is pretty subjective, but the hard limits that the CPU has built in definitely aren't.
My tablet gets hot while playing games or browsing but never a reboot so I think it's normal.
It gets hot mainly at the top-left for me, which I'm assuming where the SoC is located. Not too bad if you're holding it normally.

I wanted to know if it warms up
I'm going to use reasonable not game
I use reasonable and not game
It does not warm up.
Thank you
I mean You're talking on the phone Surf the Internet It does not feel a little warm?
I have another question.Speaker When you make calls The other side Hear you loud and clear?
Essentially all phones warm up, it's because of the GPU/RAM/Processor it's normal for every single phone.
OK
I understand that. still Can you tell me feel a little warm?
MY MOTO G. NO little warm
That's why I ask. can you run please cpu z and tell me what the temperature of the battery
Thank you very much for your time
I've had mine for a month or so. I cant remember it getting warm. Maybe while playing ingress, but it was a warm sunny day, so harf to tell...
OK
Okay I just can not stand it warms up. I guess I'll have to go see for myself
Thank you
It does not warm up under normal conditions. It may get a bit warm if you play a video on YouTube for several minutes for example but not when surfing.
Mine gets quite hot if you play a movie.
If you use it for some time, yes it warms up.
OK

No
Not at all (not yet), surprisingly. It's a plus point for this phone. I've used the Galaxy S3, Xperia Z1C, and an old Nexus one, LG G pad, Tab pro 8.4 and they all get hot at some point like using GPS or Google earth.
I have recorded over 15 minite 4K video with it and it had medium warmup but never cracked up.
YES
It is known that it gets hot you take 4K Picture
But it's not so bad. As long as I hope not surfing the web and During a call
I personally do not care if it gets hot If you play the games Or shooting 4K
That I do not use it at all. Maybe 4K But probably no more than 10 minutes
Talk and surf is the most important For me anyway
Anyone who bought the Phone Can do testing and help to know better
Can download cpu-z Check temperatureand
Thanks to everyone that you are helping people

With talk and surf of course you will not have any problem at all

Yes when 4k recording mine gave up after 11 min and was really hot but when browsing not at all, when calling neither. When doing cpu intensive tasks or when charging you can feel some heat but it doesn't burn your fingers ?
Well if it hits up just cool it with some water haha.
i have had several android phones and nothing beats the z3c. i constantly play 1 - 2 hours online game and drains almost 50% or so battery but the heat is minimal.
Its a powerful phone , squeezed down to the compact form , will it heat up .. yes, does the glass conduct heat better , yes, will it cool down , yes.

Phone overheats on stock rom

Hi all,
My phone started overheating on the most basic of tasks, when I browse the Web it burns through 1% of battery every minute and the top of the phone (both back and the screen) gets unbearably hot. I tied different browsers and it does it with all of them.
Any advice on how to fix this?
Thank you.

I haven't checked the temperature per se but both the screen and the back around the camera get hot to the point where you can hardly touch them. Something is triggering the CPU to run like crazy when browsing.
Are you using Lollipop? I think thats why. My phone gets hot with lowest brightness and only widi enabled after 2 minutes of browsing reddit. Its very hot...

Yea that is weird. I want to go back on KitKat cause my telephone is very hot. :/
How much battery does KitKat normally use when people browse the web on wifi for an hour? Cuz for me it is literally 50-60% in an hour's time. Should I factory reset? Don't really feel like it but if it is my only option...

I checked the temperature, it hovers around 68-70 C when browsing the web. Is this normal? GSM Arena are reporting 11+ hours of browsing on this, I can get maybe 2-3 hours at best, no more than that.

This is def way too hot for browsing. In fact even when i push my phone as hard as possible i dont get much higher than 60C. Browsing and normal use will be around 50C. And yes SOT is around 5 to 7 hrs on a charge. I usually can go 1.5 to 2 days before charging. I would try factory reset. If it doesnt work see if you can get it replaced.

Had a similar problem with my old Optimus L9 (it was hot all the time, and discharged around 1%/min), Lg exchanged the motherboard without asking. Try to reflash the rom first. If it stays the same, then it's hw issue.

S7 edge overheating

Hi guys,
I just got a new s7 edge. Been used for two weeks now.. it gets quite warm and at time quite hot suring operation like browsing web youtube checking emails.mostly the top right side and camera area. Im not sure if its a defect or not.. it doesnt get to the point where the phone shuts down but its still warm..i know the normal stuff like getting hot during charging or using the phone during charging. This is when the phone is being used and off the charger .
Simple tasks 30 to 40 degrees celsius youtube and web browsing it goes between 40 to 50 degrees. And for games it goes upto 60 degrees celsius..
Is the phone meant to be this warm/]hot ??
Please help..
I tried the normal procedures. Safe mode , format etc . I disabled apps. optimised apps etc.. still quite warm. When the phone is not in use its cool as a cucumber .
Really weird. I can play games with really sick high end graphics and the phone stays quite cold. The only moment when my S7 Edge gets quite hot is when I record slow motion video.
How is Your battery life? 4-6 hours SOT is normal. If You have less then You should check what app uses Your phone.
Also You can try first, formating the phone(data etc) and then flashing new rom with Odin. It will rewrite whole system partition.

SOT is excellent i average between 4.5 to 7 hours..
My app usage is fine..they say certain apps can make it warm.. I am using cpu z ro monitor the temperatures..
Not sure whether i should return this phone and get another one. Seems there are people with overheating s7 edges..
Well I guess if it doesn't bother You then You can keep the device..
It's a problem with a lot of the samsung phones I've previously had (S3,S4,S5,S6,and now S7 edge) on the bright side, it keeps me really toasty during the winter weather.
This is the first Samsung phone I've ever owned that doesn't get warm. Its the exynos version. I would be worried if yours is getting very hot for no reason.
It gets warm while i start using apps.. like browsing the web pn google chrome and listening to music on google music . Goes up to 40 to 50 degrees celsius..
On the other hand watchinf a video on vlc media player the phones nice n cool..

CPU can get to 80C and that's still in range for normal work, so unless it gets choppy or shuts down - don't worry. see what apps are the most battery consuming ones

Overheating during video and camera use.

Last night I was at a wwe nxt house show. When trying to record videos my phone would heat up and the video would stop. Telling me my phone is heating up. Mind you this happened about 5 mins after recording. Shortly after the camera would shut down completely. Is there a way to stop this? Kinda like to record more than 2 mins of video. I usually have the camera set 1080P God
My phone likes to do this crap randomly too. My phone will tell me it's too hot to use my Gear VR after sitting idol for 20 plus min. I miss my Note 4 so bad. I can't even download a torrent without my phone not wanting to wake up and unlock, sometimes it randomly shuts down if it's under any kind of stress.

It's a bunch of bs. Companies should really do more testing and not worry about rushing a yearly release.
Mine over heats to like 94 whike streaming video from kodi.
I agree it suck and more testing should be done. I guess we shouldnt expect this from the S8 or + since the allegedly undergo further testing now after the note. We'll see.
I guess they think if it doesn't explode it's not too bad lol.

What I usually do is I put it under a cold water running sink and that usually cools the phone off really well it sucks that I have to do that though, but it's a quick solution for the time being.
