Private mode not working
I rooted my note 4 today and after several issues the private mode doesn't work. I tried XSecureStorage AND the Wanam implemented option, both didn't work for me. I just used the flashable Zip from wuby and flashed it to my galaxy note 4. I don't know if this zip file was made for galaxy note 4's, however, i flashed it. Now my private mode just seems to be working, cause if i enable it it it says 'private mode working' instead of 'private mode not turned on, please try again'.
But there's no way to access the private mode now. It's like it is turned on, but doesn't work at the same time . This is so weird. Can anybody help me please? :crying:

Well it is not the correct app.. But if you are on stock only rooted rom you just need to wipe data.. If is a custom rom you can use this zip pulled from our rom for note4
https://www.dropbox.com/s/dllkqmwrw9ndy0v/Private_mode_enabler.zip?dl=0
Be aware that if you wipe data you'll loose all in the private partition
Well thank you for your quick response first, wuby. I now wiped data (Yes i am stock rooted and don't have a custom ROM), but an error message occured 'Personal storage stopped'. I read on another forum that it maybe has something to do with the super su? Because when i rooted it and rebooted super su from chainfire asked me if i want to bypass knox. Some user said that private mode isn't working if you click on 'Agree'. But now i can't find that option anymore. Do you have any idea?
I'm sorry. I've rooted many phones and I'm a bit familiar, but still a noob
Any Help would be great.

So flash the zip i sent in last post and should be fine i think.. Regarding disable knox there is no problem.. I am used to actually delete all knox apps and related ones to.. If you are using xposed you need also maybe a fix in /system/build.prop : change from true to false the value for ro.securestorage.support , save the file and to reboot the device.. See if helps in case you use xposed
Also if you are on stock you have to delete the .odex file for personalpage.apk via root browser
Hello again
EDIT:
I deleted the personalstorage.odex file with root browser and flashed your zip file. Still doesn't work
Yes i use xposed and I already changed the the status to 'false'. It works flawless but still no private mode. I tried to change the status to true, used the XSecureStorage module - no effect. Still doesn't work. Is there any log i can supply you with to get a closer look? Only if you don't mind. (you need to tell me how i can get those logs.)
I even tried the wanam Xposed Module and ticked the security hack - no effect. What am i doing wrong?
And i flashed the Zip file via TWRP. The only change that happens then is that the message appears: 'Private mode enabled', but i can't access any files, or drop any files in the PM. I really want it back! I got so much pics of my naked Girlfriend in it I just have to get them back!!

Well if you are on stock you only need to wipe data but you loose all the files inside the private mode to have it working again i think
Hello Wuby,
it didn't work! Don't ask me why I now flashed a custom Rom and everything's working flawless. Got S Health AND private mode again! Yibbie! But thank you anyways for your time and your solutions. Have a nice holiday
Heya guys,
I've read through so many websites and forum posts but always when I think I have found the right thing for me, the model number, baseband version and/or build number varies...
All I want to do is root my phone. If there's a safe way to do this without tripping that KNOX whatever, that would be great but not even the most important to me.
And if it is possible I would also like to get Android 4.4.4 installed. Strangely, my phone says it is up to date (4.4.2) but I'm seeing people having 4.4.4 on theirs...
If there's something like a pack to get both, the update and the root, that would be mint!
Either way, I would be very thankful if someone could point me to a place where my exact device could get its appropriate files.
Model number: GT-I9301I
Baseband version: I9301IXXUANF2
Build number: KOT49H.I9301IXCUANJ4
you have the gt-i9301i so latest version for your device is 4.4.2 , but 4.4.4 is available for dual sim variant gt-i9300i you can root it i'll post the link below and navigate through the android devloppement section and find a rom that suits you then install it
link for root : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...overy-t-r-p-samsung-galaxy-s3-neo-gt-t2906840
Heya, thanks for the answer!
Ah, so there's also a dual sim variant. Mean that only they get the 4.4.4 update
So, on that link you gave me... do I need that stuff in the first post or is it enough for me to load and process the stuff in the second post (under 2nd Method I guess?)?
you choose which method you want to use then you're good to go
Yeah, but lets say I choose that "2nd Method ( Odin method )" - do I ALSO need that stuff from the first post (TWRP) or is that not needed then?
no just from 2nd post (odin mode)

Also, are you sure the second post stuff is all I need? It looks like all I'm getting there is a new recovery, it doesn't say anything about root...?

No . I personally rooted my device with cf auto root. After I launched the SuperSU it removed KNOX
Hm, I think you misunderstood my question. KNOX seems to be removed already.
But there's still that other thing with the yellow triangle (years ago, one needed 'Triangle Away' to remove it), right? Or has Samsung given up on that when they introduced KNOX?

Your private mode must be enabled already. That's why. To enable private mode, you need a pin / fingerprint.

Samsung decided with marshmallow to disable that feature if the Knox flag was triggered. You need the modded apk which removes this check.

I would recomend you to download a custom rom which has the modded apk, extract the apk from the rom, delete yours and reboot. Then put the modded apk in the exact place where the original was, put rw-r-r permissions and reboot

Maybe deleting all the update before flashing the zip will help.

I would still like to know if this is possible to implement. I'm currently using ther superman ROM which doesn't have the modded apk, I talked with the developer and he will look into it, but this is a very important feature for me and I really need it.

Even if you flash the original firmware, you will not be able to use the security features anymore (in some custom roms, some features do work). Once you root, the knox flag changes permanently!

Pokmemon Go/ Uninstalled Kingroot and derooted boot screen custom & gear icon on boot
Hi, so a while ago I tried using kingroot and installed it for a little bit and used root to uninstall some factory installed apps like amazon, etc. then when i decided i did not want root anymore. i used the kingroot app to remove root and then uninstalled the kingroot application.
then i downloaded a root checker app to see if i was rooted. i was not.
now whenever i boot up my phone it says samsung and then the word custom with a gear icon below it.
now when i tried the newest version of pokemon go version 0.37.0 it says it cannot run on my device cause apparently it thinks i am rooted.
is there anyway to solve this? other than a factory reset?
I don't think a factory reset would help either.
You'd have to delete every trace of root left on your device, and kingroot probably left some files behind.
Unless you can find them, the most sure method is to flash another ROM (stock) though Odin.
I believe a custom kernel would also work, or the stock boot.img of your current ROM.

The ROM you can get from Sammobile. As for the files left behind, I don't know how kingroot handles those, but to access and delete them you would have to be rooted.

I already told you that a factory reset does not unroot.
If you want to completely unroot, flash the stock ROM.
If you don't want that, downgrade to Pokémon version 0.35.
0.37 has not even been officially released yet. I mean, I don't even have it on the play store and it's the same for many others.
PS: Xposed also needs root.

You don't need a pit file. And if the files are wrong, the instalation will just fail.
If that's the firmware you had previously, then it's ok.

Dear all
I have s8 non root. I am unable to software update. I suspect is because i adb greenify the aggressive doze.
Anyway to update? Thanks in advance.
I didn't know greenify works w/o root. Installed it again and don't like the way non-root works. I'd imagine, you just reverse what you did and try again then redo your modifications.
Are you using the original firmware for your phone? If all else fails try smart switch on the pc.

Yes. All stock. Will try. Thanks much.
By the way, there is no updates recently right?
try to uninstall greenify
if update is working again, install greenify but don't use its aggressive doze feature.
I found that ForceDoze app is working like a charm in my S8.

I tried uninstall greenify. But don't work.
I also tried rebooting into stock recovery and wipe partition. Also tried unmount external sd card and boot into phone without sd card.
All don't work

I'm not sure if the greenify settings stick after it's been uninstalled so you may want to reinstall it and revert all settings to stock to see if that'll help. Worst case, you can just use Samsung Switch program to update manually or use Odin to update. Alternatively, you can try to reset the phone to stock to see if that helps.
Go to download mode (Power down, bixby and power key) and see if Knox is tripped 0x1 instead of 0x0

Then you should be all set to receive updates, visit a Samsung Service Center and show them the system modified error message.
This doesn't look like your fault at all.

Use the same adb command you used to Grant special permissions to greenify but replace Grant with Revoke

Exactly. Thanks much!
I recently unlocked my Sprint S8 and it seems it was modified someway that although Knox is not tripped, S-health and Samsung pay are not working saying my system was modified.
My device is not rooted just flashed to unlock it.

That means that the CSC codes do not match on the Firmware and the phone itself
