Note 3 (sm-n9005) Reboots randomly - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I have random reboot problem on my note 3. Screen freezes (gaming, settings, menu or idle) and reboots when i have installed ANY costom ROM or Kernel. I noticed screen freezes mostly when Synapse app is installed with Kernel, second notice phone freezes then my favourite PegasusQ governor is applied. Phone was working perfectly without any issue on official 5.0 with Minimalistic kernel, no issues about whole year (no synapse). Phone was two times in warranty. First time they instaled stock KK firmware and replaced micro usb port (that whole part in note3 ) ?? , second time simply installed stock Lollipop. And then everything starts from beggining...
Yesterday I zipped all LOGS with SysLog app when random reboot appeared (i was on synapse changing governor from interactive to precognition). If it helps reboot happened yesterday after 02:00 hour.

Warranty didn't fixed that so I hope real developers will detect what couses this RR.
Sorry for bad English
My phone is now on Phronesis ROM, CivZ_Xplorer-9005-Rev5.0.3-note5port Kernel

Do you have an SD card installed? If so remove it from the phone and see if the phone is stable

I was using external sdcard on official 5.0 lollipop with minimalistic kernel and phone was working without random reboots whole year.... Reboots only on costom roms and kernels with synapse.... I never used costom voltages and higer cpu freequency than 2.5 ghz... no gpu overclocks more than 450mhz, never played with performance governors, no overheating...

Reflash different stock firmware it worked for me

Regarding flashing Glitch.v14-pre5 bootloop fix

Hi all
since i cannot post in Developer's apropriate forum i share with you here..
I have tried all ICS rom there is (not that many yet..) with Glitch v14 pr5 kernel, and they ALL give me bootloops... if not right away then after some period of time, and there is NO way to enter CWM
So i reflashed many many times in odin with different stock and other roms, but always with same result bootloops or a glitch screen logo that dont go any further.
Only if i go in recovery and format ALL options avalible and do a wipe data/factory reset afterwards + run the reset nstools zip avalible (off course only if you have been installing the glitch kernel )
Only then i get a error free install + i can boot in CWM and reboot whitout getting these errors......
Then im able to install > [ROM]SGS ICS 4.0.3 Doctor's ROM [01-12-2012]
and running on day 2 whit out any errors now..
Using nstools to oc and undervolt, is working fine selecting one of the 2 new goveneurs interactiveX or smartassv2 and DIDDLE deep sleep working perfect, BUT nstools wont tel you i always shows 0 in idle time (its nstolls fault) but voltage control EXTREME shows the right numbers
EDIT: Forgot to say that i pulled the externel sd card before going into CWM ! and do NOT deactivate nctools in app maneger !
Hope its ok posting this here ? plz delete or move else admins
Greets to all

bootloop for nothing

My phone is getting a bootlóop without me flashing anything. This has happened multiple of times. Im using my phone normally and then after i reböot it decides to bóotlóop with a broken recovery??!! How is it possible to bóotlóop that much without flashing anything or of that sorts???
I was using aokp b35 and devil kernel 2 big memory
surely im not the only 1?
that bug happens on every huge mem config kernels*.no one still found fix.
*since Devil2 0.70 Semaphore 2.9.7.devil 1.1.6 kernel not bootlooping

TF101 Random Reboots after ICS .27

Hi you all,
My transformer TF101 (.27) has been doing random reboots (RR).
The TF101 lasts for about an hour after each firmware update (.27), then when RR starts, it occurs for on average 4-7 minutes
after each reboot.
I have not rooted to install a custom ROM yet (as warranty goes then).
Will a custom ROM help? Any custom ROM you advise?
Anyone has a solution? Explanation? Thanks.
I tried the things below which does not work:
1. Installed App wakelock (set to partial wake lock and reboot on startup)
2. Disabled notifications for every 12 hours in nvidia tegra zone
3. Hard Factory reset (holding volume down and power button for 12 seconds and choosing wipe)
4. Factory Reset (Reset 3 times in a row from settings)
5. Installed App: Auto airplane mode.
6. Downloaded latest firmware from asus website (corresponds to build model TW and installed on root and updated firmware again - 4 times)
7. Tried forcing stop on most applications from settings and clearing cache
8. Mailed asus for a possible solution (hopeless )

Ive read rooting and installing a custom rom/kernel has helped people overcome them i cant say because ive never had this issue, You can revalidate your warranty just by unrooting and flashing the stock firmware
Id start by trying with Revolver and/or Revolution HD, with a guevor kernel

IMO ARHD is good idea but with stock kernel at the beginning, if he notice that everything is ok, he can flash kernel.
Well speaking from personal experience I had RRs frequently when ICS first rolled off in Feb, after a couple of months I switched to ROMs. Using Megatron 1.16 and Guevor's kernel 21.5, longest run time was 300 hrs. Very stable ROM. I did have RRs but that was once in a blue moon nothing that will impede your daily use. Now I am running the JB ROM from team EOS.
regarding warranty issues, I had to send mine back for power button fix but it was easy to go back to stock either thru Nandroid backup or Asus stock firmware update via CMW recovery. No worries.

[Q] random soft reboots (semaphore kernel)

Hi,
i'm using purity rom with purified kernel right now. as i read that many people using purity have better battery life with semaphore, i tried to switch my kernel. worked fine and my battery lasted longer, but i would get 5-10 random soft reboots during the day.
so i don't see the google logo on reboot and don't have to enter my sim pin.
this was and is no problem with purified kernel, but because of the battery life i would like to change to semaphore.
can i somehow fix this?

Freezes with custom kernels

The thing is, this is annoying as hell, I can't get any performance of my device becouse it is always lagging becouse the thermal throttle, also I can't low the processor freequency it just resets by itself, I tried LA kernel and zetsubou, both freezes (I can use LA for 5 minutes before it freezes, and zetsubou freezes when the device boots) This happens in EVERY ROM I'm on Lollipop bootloader, I tried clean, dirty flash, nothing worked, I sent LA kernel freeze ramoops on LA thread but no one looked at it, Can anyone help me? please?
Also I'm using the 2014819 variant, almost all users of this device reported this issue, I only found 1 guy that din't had this problem, it's not the bootloader becouse he was using the same as everyone, so... help
wipe all the partition then flash the ROM ...then choose stock kernel or jerrica kernel it is pretty stable..and always choose selinux to permissive.. and report back?
and LA kernel has bootloop and freez issues but on some ROMs...
