Wifi and bluetooth malfunction - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a p8 lite. A couple of days ago it froze and i had to press the power button for a few seconds to reboot it. After that the wifi and bluetooth are not turning on. It was working fone before that. It just locked tge bootloader and rooted it after this. Do you guys think i can try flashing another rom on it to see if its a software issue. Can i get the baseband or radio for it so i can flash that?
Formwaee is b130
Its a dual sim phone ale l21
Your help is appreciated.

I am also having the same issue. The phone shutdown and when i turned it back on the wifi/bluetooth stopped working. Wifi can be switched on scans for available network but cannot see any, though my other devices are connected to the same router. There is another P8 Lite phone connected. Router has been rebooted and reset. Same thing happens to BT it wont see other BT enabled devices and other phones cant see the device. I have already rebooted the phone, checked wifi settings, Wipe Cache Partition several times and even did a Factory Reset but it didn't seem to help.

Yes, there is a fix available for the »»» Huawei P8 Lite ««« :
I have the same problem with the WIFI & BLUETOOTH: Both wifi & bluetooth buttons are gray and disabled.
This issue happened after an update from » Android 5.0 | EMUI 3.x « to » Android 6.0 | EMUI 4.0 « .
I researched a lot on the internet and found one useful information:
It is not a software issue - it is a hardware issue.
The best way to fix this ridiculous bug is simply to look for » Huawei Customer Service « so they can change/repair (or anything else they do) your hardware.
This is what i am gonna do the next days.
I hope this information was helpful somehow!

Hi, for me it solved with disabling only bluetooth search. :good:

I have my P8 Lite (2015) updated with original B634, only with bootloade unlocked.
The mobile phone is guaranteed by Huawei until 22/10/2019 (marketing bid in October 2017).
However, in recent days, I'm having difficulties in the speed of wifi (does not exceed 10k / s) when I have the bluetooth activated (for example when I arrive at my house and came with mobile phone connected to the bluetooth of the car).
If I turn off the bluetooth the speed of the wifi normalizes immediately!
Is it a software problem and a reset resolves or will it be a hardware problem to be solved under warranty?
Thank you for your opinion.

its hardware issue, just applied from my mobile operater,in Serbia

this issure is still on update? or they already fix the bug

SOLUTION!
In a Spanish forum I saw that they had solved this problem by installing the ALE-L21C432B564!
I tried but it did not work for me!
Then I remembered to do something I had not done yet!
I reset the factory settings with deletion of internal storage data, installed the rom ALE-L21C432B574 by fastboot (look for link FlashRom B574 Dual Sim).
Surprise!!!
Wifi worked at full speed, even with bluetooth on!
Then I installed the ALE-L21C432B636 by the native mode (dload - UPDATE.APP - off - start with the 3 buttons pressed)...
It is updated and with the problem of wifi + BT resolved.

NEW SOLUTION!
I found the reason for the Wi-Fi problem too slow (or stopping) when Bluetooth is turned on!
The problem is "Your location" from Google Play Services!!!
Until version 11.6.73 (14-09-2017) there is no problem, but from that version, more precisely 11.7.41 (05-10-2017), until today (12.8.74), and in the next versions (13.2 .77 beta), the problem persists.
Will Google solve the problem?
I do not know.
But to solve the problem I found this solution:
Disable GPS-Then go to Settings-Apps-Google Play services-Permissions-Your Location-Location Settings-Disable Access to my location.
From there, you may already have Bluetooth enabled and Wi-Fi will work properly.
However, if you also activate GPS (wf + bt + gps), the Wi-Fi will be very slow again, until you deactivate the GPS again.
It seems that some equipment does not have this problem! If so, good for them, but for those who have this problem, the real reason is already found, and until they solve it (if they solve), we have this solution.
I'm grateful that you also report this error to Google, to see if they fix it.

Still can't enable WIFI on 2.3.5 or Aurora

Hello.
I'm sorry if it has been already discussed before, but i couldn't actually find a solution for this in here.
I got a brand new U8800 (2.2). The WIFI was working properly.
So i installed the official 2.3.5 version required to get Aurora installed. At this time i couldn't enable WIFI anymore. I did try to wipe everything more than once before and after upgrading, same story.
I saw people saying that it might be a missed IMEI problem, but i didn't lose it, but the MAC addresses for WIFI and BT are "Unknown".
After root the phone i tried to set the MAC manually using terminal emulator, and it didn't work either.
Upgrading to Aurora also didn't solve the problem, still can't get either Wifi or BT enabled.
Is there anyone who could actually solve it?
Thank you
If the MAC address for wifi and bluetooth shows 'unknown' that indicates a configuration problem because of a somehow faulty update. I do not know how to solve this problem, but in case there is no quick solution I suggest that you install the official Huawei-Gingerbread-ROM and have the unit returned then.
It is not likely that this problem occurs on the next device too - as long as the file you downloaded (the huawei update) is not corrupt. As long as you can unzip it without any error message the file should be alright and the update process should not break anything. If you know that your harddrive is very old and you believe that this could be the problem, get this checked out.
XphX
search in the forum i think there is a way to put again mac adress again with some tools... but 4 that you need to have a backup of them...

[Q] WiFi Interface Debugging Required

Hi everybody,
I have SM-N900 and immediately after buying I noticed the GSM antenna power varies very much and drops calls every minute but WiFi worked great.
I flashed to latest ROM (Android 5 Official) and had most of the GSM issues over and now calls are not dropped.
HOWEVER,
WiFi does not turn on!
It keeps dark green (seems trying to bring the interface up and gives up after a while)
I'm sure there is no problem with the hardware because it was working on the later ROM.
I tried:
- Installing 4.4.2 ROMs again
- Factory rest
- Wipe cache from recovery
- Install many modems (from official releases)
- Those magic solutions like connecting charger when battery id out, etc.
Since no use, I'd like to know whether the underlying Linux OS of my android recognizes the WiFi adapter or not. Therefore, I'm working for a debugging tool that I can see what the error with WiFi is!
Could anybody help please?
Maybe I'd better ask the dear administrator to move this topic to development thread because it seems there is no interest in deep debugging here

LG G2 WiFi stuck to "Turning On"

Hello All,
I have upgraded LG G2 to
LP 5.0.2
BB : M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190128
Kernel : 3.4.0
Build : LRX22g
Software Version : v30-eur-xx
i am facing consistent WiFi issue after switching on it gets stuck at Wifi Turning on but does not connect.
It has got an MAC address. sometimes very rarely it may connect to WiFi but then disconnects after 3-4 minutes.
I have tried clear cache, factory reset but problem still there, has anyone faced similar issue and can help me here
many thanks
Did you have a problem before upgrading? If not, then it's unlikely to be a hardware issue and something could have gotten messed up in the update process.
If I were you, I would TOT back to KK following THIS GUIDE. After it installs, do a factory reset. After it restarts, then update to the latest ota and factory reset once more. That will get you a clean install as possible.
Btw, have you tried connecting to another wifi access point? Sometimes networks can be setup incorrectly(ie two routers with dhcp enabled on one network) which can cause problems.

Hello Stan54, I rooted my LG G2 last year and was on Kitkat, phone was running fine since that, in December I installed nova launcher and couple of other applications but not able to find the log. After that I started having this issue. One peculiar thing is it can start it's hotspot correctly and I can connect my PC to phone's hotspot WiFi SSID and bluetooth is fine as well but only Wifi keeps stuck at "Turning on" mode.
Since then i have
1. Flashed it to stock JB ROM {Using LG Flash tool}
2. Upgraded to LP5.0.2 using LG PC Suite
still the issue remains
one slight improvement I saw after that is
1. It connects to WiFi for a minute or 2 then goes to "Turning Wifi on" mode
I will try to go back to KK and follow steps as suggested and update.
thanks
Edit : I have tried connecting to other WiFi networks as well, same issue.

ZE500KL - GPS Issue

Hi,
I've a big problem with my ZenFone GPS, it's very slow to fix and accuracy is very bad. It's totally unusable for car navigation. For example my moto G first gen 2013 have better accuracy (11 meters) and fix in 5s max versus 30/40s with bad accuracy (40meters).
I've try to upgrade to latest firmware, factory reset my phone but problem still here.
I google a little about my problem and I found i'm not alone to have this GPS issues.
Does someone found something to fix this problem ?

You're not the only one with this problem, bro. I also have a problem with GPS on my ZE500KL (by the way, i also had Moto G 2013 before and GPS works good on it)
AndroiTS GPS Test shows that GPS doesn't see any sattelites. The best result was connection with 2 sattelites, and the accuracy of GPS on Google Maps was very low in anyway.
I have tried factory reset, to downgrade to WW_12.8.5.118 Firmware & wipe cache partition, then tried also install WW_12.8.5.172 and WW_12.8.5.222 firmware and the result is the same - GPS not working.
The only thing I didn't tried yet is editing the "gps.conf" file, but I need root for this, and I don't want to lose the warranty
As I see on ASUS official forum, they know about the issue and they trying to resolve the problem (since november or something). :good:
Same for me
Gps position updates once a minute and accuracy is real ****. Had a road accident because of navigation problems
same problem for me...good phone, but GPS work badly
gps on my ze550kl keeps turning around and accuracy is very bad hope they will fix that in MM
I tried to post this message on the Asus Zentalk forum, but the site seems broken, it won't let me post anything.
I had a similar problem with my Moto G, I resolved this way (solution found in this forum, posted back to CM forum):
To make integrated GPS working you need to reboot in bootloader mode (hold volume down while turning on the phone), then attach the phone to the pc with the USB cable, and from the command prompt use fastboot to erase modemst1 and 2:
Code:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
It will not erase anything tangible for the user (apparently).

I know that this is a different phone (I should get it soon btw, I hope I will not regret my choice) and that the commands probably won't work even with some modification, but it could give a hint to those trying to solve this problem.

Have you run the command prompt as Administrator?
Have you installed the latest or official ADB drivers?
Have you unlocked the bootloader? (I don't know if necessary, try the above first)
I also tried running as admin as well as downloaded the latest adb and drivers, same result
I have not yet unlocked my bootloader since there is no complete backup here at xda, and it is not possible to re lock the bootloader,
I will just be waiting if someone will try to it.

I'm investigating what happens in detail when these two partitions are erased.
I found two discussions that look interesting (specially the second):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/investigation-efs-t3153154
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617276
In brief: these two partitions holds important information of the phone, like the IMEI. Erasing them cause the system to recreate them using the information backed-up in other partitions. But in some cases these backup partitions are empty and erasing the modemst partitions cause the phone radio to stop working (no more calls, 2G/3G/4G data and GPS) because the system cannot retrieve the serial numbers needed to make the radio work anywhere.
So it's better to do a manual backup of these partitions before erasing them (better a full backup with TWRP, that will backup all partitions including these).
Reading the second discussion linked above suggests me that the sudden bootloop problems that people are experiencing, are also connected to the corruption of these modemst partitions (corruption possibly caused by some firmware update or by some system app gone mad).
The fact that Asus after 2+ months still hasn't fixed the GPS problem, could mean IMO:
- that the problem isn't related to the above partitions and is more complicated than it seems (probable);
- that the problem is caused by the corruption of the partitions but it cannot be fixed with an OTA firmware update, but only manually with a technical intervention (full flash and/or terminal bashing) that regular users aren't capable of;
- that the problem can be fixed with a firmware update but Asus developers still haven't find that (improbable).
I should get the ZE500KL in a couple of days, then my theory could be tested directly and described in detail (if I get the same GPS problems after updates).
Thanks for your input regarding this, i would just use my bluetooth gps in order to navigate properly..

Yesterday I received the phone, I booted it to check if it works, then I immediately upgraded the firmware to the latest version, without OTA updates but downloading directly the latest full firmware from the Asus download site.
Then I booted the phone, played a little with it, did a full reset and re-flash the firmware.
Then I thought about GPS problems and I tested it with AndoiTS GPS Test and it seems to work fine, or at least I suppose this from the attached screenshot (I couldn't test it on the streets yet).
I don't have root permission or bootloader unlocked [yet], so you and everybody could try the same things I did:
- Factory data reset (from Settings > Backup and reset menu);
- wipe data/factory reset (boot into recovery by pressing Volume Down button while turning on the phone);
- full firmware flash (from recovery, you can copy the firmware zip file in a microSD or upload it via adb sideload).
Then after rebooting the phone complete the welcome procedure and repeat the three steps above another time.
I hope this will works for everybody.
Here is my screen shot using asus zenfone 2
Screenshot from asus zenfone 2 ze500kl
Merely 2 satellites
And here is the screenshot using xperia sp c5303,
I also updated using the zip in asus site and flashed it,
Btw, my asus has been rooted, but i see no difference after rooting it, same scenario 2 or less satellites, some times 5 but no fix

Another question what firmware version are you using, as far as my experience, the latest ww.12.8.5.222 firmware gives me this problem so i decided to do a full downgrade to the stock fw that comes with my phone, which is ww.12.8.5.118, for that fw works before

I used the latest firmware, the .222
The trick could be resetting and flashing, two times, but it's only an assumption.
BTW, into geolocation settings, I enabled the only GPS option when doing the test.
In your screenshot, it looks like AGPS is enabled, that is not GPS. Try setting only GPS in the geolocation settings and see what happens (maybe with screenshot).
Here it is without agps, i even left my phone in the open for about an hour, screen on, hoping it will fix even with one satellite, now even one satellite wont show up

Ok, it looks like the same exact problem as the Moto G, and the solution should be the same too.
But with the bootloader locked (and no way to unlock it at the moment), the only thing we can do is using the terminal with root privileges to backup and erase the partitions (with the dd command or something similar).
I'll study how to do this...

Huawaei P8 GRA-L09 WIFI weak signal & GPS lost signal

Hello people of XDA,
I'm a Huawei P8 user and till recently, I was excited with my phone!
That was till the day I updated the firmware to B393 and I obtained two problems.
1st problem:
My wifi signal receiver got really weak and nowdays I can't reach and connect to WiFi connections,
that I could before the update.
2nd problem:
My GPS signal is suddenly getting lost and takes a while to reset.
Do you have any ideas how to fix these 2 issues??
Thank you very much in advance for your advice and help

If you have an EU-build, have you tried the latest, which is B397: [Firmware] Huawei P8 GRA-L09C432 B397 (12-05-2017)
Yes!
Now it is wearing B397 and still has both of the problems!

Try reverting back to the firmware that worked (if you remember) by reinstalling it via the dload-dialler method.
I tried rolling back to B390 but still the problem remains.
And unfortunately, there are no wifi settings concerning the wifi frequency available.

One more thing you can try is rolling back to Lollipop, then updating the phone via OTA only (not manually) - as this will ensure only 'official' updates are downloaded & installed.
First, & very important is to do a thorough & prior backup of your personal files stored in the internal storage (like: texts, contacts, photos, videos, music, etc as applicable & also make a note of all the apps you manually downloaded & installed) - as reverting to Lollipop (B200 step below) will most likely delete these.
Then download & install this MM to LL transition package (204Mb): http://consumer.huawei.com/nl-en/support/products/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=79605
Next, download & install C432B200 (LL) - direct full download (1.6Gb): http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=68483&version=238533
[Or, you can follow this guide: Huawei P8: Rollback from Marshmallow to Lollipop (German-English Google translated link HERE if required)]
Once above completes successfully, does everything work as it should?
Restore all your backups & apps now (or wait until after you update to Marshmallow in the step below).
Finally, check for & install OTA updates (Settings > Update > Check for updates) - it should find the latest official Marshmallow update. If not immediately, give it a few days to a couple of weeks.
