I have my account synced to my gmail and now on my phone all my email address + phone numbers are mixed together. I tried looking in the settings but nothing.
Is there any way to do it?

Hey all,
So I have the Rogers Dream, and whenever I go into my contacts app, it doesn't show any of my contacts. However, if I wanted to send a new text to someone, I can start typing a letter or whatnot and it will show their name and number perfectly. How do I go about correcting this issue?
Also, how come my dream won't sync to my PC? It only sees it when I activate the USB mode, I want to be able to sync my contacts over to my PC. How can I make this happen?
Thank you for your help!
Ok, on the phone open up the contacts app. Hit menu>edit sync groups. Make sure sync all contacts is checked. Hit ok. Menu>display group select all contacts and hit ok. If your contacts still dont show up then you need to get on your computer and log into your gmail account and check to see if you have contacts listed there. If there are no contacts there or not the right ones im guessing your contacts are on your sim card. If this is the case then in the contacts app menu>import contacts.
There is no real sync to pc option on the Dream. Your contacts, calendar, etc. are all synced automatically with Googles servers. If you want access to that info on your PC then you just have to log in to your gmail account and you can see your contacts, calendar, etc.
Hey thanks for the help with the contacts not showing up, I just had to change the view mode from All to Contacts with numbers and then back again. It must have been a glitch.
Anyways, since I can't sync them in the terms I am thinking, how can I send the contacts back to the SIM card? I have yet to see an option for that
Hi,
Summary: I used Google sync without thinking, ending up with a mixture of e-mail contacts and phone contacts on my phone and on gmail. Could use some help separating them again.

I have synchronised my X10 contact list with the Sony Ericsson sync service (website).
I also have a gmail account. Some days ago I added my computer's e-mail address book to that account.
Yesterday I decided to sync my phone with gmail (by selecting the following on the phone: settings - data sync - google sync). I simply wanted to upload my phone's contact list to gmail. I didn't consider that ALL my e-mail contacts would be added to the phone. I don't need those there...
So, any advice on how to get rid of all the e-mail contacts that google added to my phone?
At the moment, my complete contact list (the one I would like to maintain) exists at SE sync service.
In gmail's contact list, I can select all the e-mail contacts, and probably delete them. However, gmail's list only contains 60% of the contacts that were originally on my phone (of course I would like to keep 100%).
I am thinking about deleting all contacts from gmail and from the phone, and downloading them from SE sync service. Does that work they way I'm hoping? I'm a bit worried about losing my phone contacts from SE sync service.
Any advice?
Also, is there a way to set up gmail contact list so that the phone's contacts stay in one folder, while e-mail contacts stay in another folder?
(I do have some "phone contacts" with e-mail addresses, some "e-mail contacts" with phone numbers, etc, which might complicate things.)

If you go to Phonebook>Menu (left button)>Display group (or something similar)>Contacts with phonenumber , then all contacts without a nummer will be hidden.

Thanks for the tip... However, I do have some "phone contacts" with e-mail addresses, some "e-mail contacts" with phone numbers. I don't need all those contacts twice.

Merging these contacts on gmail.com>contacts using your computer would be the easiest and fastest thing to do I guess.
Or make a new group in the gmail contacts and transfer all your phonecontacts to that group, then let the x10 only show the contacts in the new group.
I Am able to sync my Google reader, my gmail and calendar but my contacts dont seem to be able to sync? how can i fix this?
Go to Settings and then Accounts and sync. Click on your gmail address and make sure that all the options are selected including Sync Contacts. Have you already done this?
One silly mistake I made when I first got my phone was I added a bunch of contacts as a "T-Mobile" contact and when they didn't show up as a Google Contact I figured out what I did wrong.
thanks for your reply and yes i have tried that but i just cant seem to get it to sync when i flashed cm 7 the contact sync work but i have returned to stock sense rom but it doesnt seem to want to sync.
Ive had a few different problems like this before so....
Do you mean; When you add your gmail, it doesn't sync and add your contacts that you have saved to your gmail account? Or when you add a new contact it doesn't save it to your contacts on your gmail account?
LG Contacts has "contacts" sync'd that aren't even contacts, just email addresses!?
I have a nice list of contacts in Gmail but when I setup my LG and it syncs contacts..WOW I have a million stupid contacts that are nothing but an email address. Many of whom are generic or spam accounts that emailed me. How do I get it to JUST sync my contacts list??
OK, figured this out. Gmail apparently remembers email addresses from everyone. Thats fine but it also creates a contact for them! You have to go to your contacts and select "Other Contacts" (mine had like 300 in there). Open it up, select All and delete. Done.

I added a new contact to my Gmail contact list last week using the web interface at contacts.google.com. The new contact is not showing up on my V20 (recently upgraded to Oreo). My other Google contacts seem to be there. I have manually synced my Google contacts via Android Settings, and have checked that the Contacts app is set to show "All Contacts". Any idea why the new contact is not showing in the app?
Make sure your phone is syncing google contacts and is set to on.
