I dont know if this trick will be succeed on your device. but I did.
flash TWRP..suggest to used latest twrp..
full wipe. include system..
reboot bootloader. there will show warn pop up that is no os. just ignore..
flash stock recovery
then flash stock jb by adb sideload..

Hi,
I'm trying to update my desire z from 1.72 to 1.82. It has Perm root, S-off and clockwork recovery 3.0.0.5 via this tut: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905261 and after that updatd to 1.72 and rooted again.
Now when I try to install the OTA I got an error in the recovery:
finding update package...
E: unkown volume for path [SDCARD:download/...
E:Can't mount SDCARD:download/....
Installation aborted.
Why is the update packages downloaded by the OTA update thing not accepted?
Best regards,
Christian
OTA updates do not work reliably on rooted phones, the problem you are having is beacuse of Clockwork what you should do is try to flash the stock htc recovery and then try to update, this worked for me but do remember you will loose root possibly forever (or atleast until a root comes out for 1.82 if at all) and all the advantages that go with it.
here is a tutorial for flashing recover images
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902493&highlight=flash_image
this is the default htc recovery image you can use in the above guide

You need to update your recovery to TWRP, Use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48501247 download and flash that first using your current recovery method.
Hi, i have a oneplus one 16gb. I have installed paranoid android 4.6 beta 6 today to change the non-original cyanogenmod with chinese app that there was on my phone. the installation succeded and the rom works but i can't install the google apps pack: infact when i try to go to recovery it go to the cyanogenmod simple recovery. If i try to install from the cyanogenMod simple recovery <e3> it says that
Finding update package ...
Opening update package ...
Verifiyng update package ...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Someone can help me?
*Sorry for my bad english...
You need a custom recovery. Simple recovery is not custom recovery

my current firmware is WW_V20.31.49.2
i am trying to install WW_V11.41.87.2
the rom i am trying to install came from asus support website
You can not downgrade that way. The updates are actually patches, so they don't work backwards. You'd have to do some fastboot and adb stuff (explore the threads and they're around), but you will lose all data.
Can I use twrp using the same Rom?
use this method
Tried even TWRP for flashing update but this OTA terminated with error that shown below from recovery log
Verification failed ended with ERROR:.......

You can't install an ota on a rooted device with twrp. You need stock recovery and a stock untouched system and boot.img.
