[Sorry for my bad English]
I have an MX5 and I noticed that WiFi based location works only with Google Maps and a few others google maps-based applications. If I'm indoor and the GPS can't fix, most of apps are unable to find my position. I refer in particular to Ingress. I tried this app also on a LG G3s, samsung galaxy S3, samsung galaxy mini 2, samsung galaxy s4 mini, and everything is working fine. Permissions are set well... Any idea on how to solve?

I'm eagerly waiting for the US version of the Tab, but I'm curious if the GPS on it can be utilized without the dependency of the cellular data or wifi? On the iPad 3G that i bought for my parent the GPS would work without the cellular data, u just need an offline map. This was useful when we traveled to Hong Kong this summer.
I'm hoping the Tab would have the same capability. As this is a even much better travel companion!
Yep, it can be used without internet, you only need an offline maps program.
Sent from my Galaxy Tab
Yes. Galaxy support both gps and a.gps
so you can use it with a map offline
i have tested on Tab

Could you please tell me which gps apps do work well in the tab? Thanks!
In my experience, Ndrive works great on the SGT.
I've tried Waze for a couple of trips with the Tab and it works without any problems.

it sounds very weird ... i never heard about it before....
Mine is good with waze or any other program that uses GPS (Maps.me, Sygic... etc) maybe it is related with your country GPS hardware

Hi, i just made this account to post this problem here and I hope I find help. My s5 is not rooted and brand new (3 days?) with the version 6.0.1. My phone does see the satellites but it doesn't locks on them so I don't have GPS at all except with WiFi and the other things but that is kinda useless and not accurate. If I really have to I would root my phone cause it's annoying as hell and I'm a traveller so I need that and I don't always have internet. Hope you can help me
Kind regards
Same problem, similar situation, using SM-G900A, Galaxy S5 with AT&T. Satellites show with GPS Tools app, but Google Maps and Waze don't find GPS location. Tried many things, including factory reset. No joy...
Hi to all! I'm a new user from Italy.
I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII Neo (GT-i9301i) and like as I writed on title, the GPS works not good: finds my location, but when I'm on car, the blue arrow, remains immobile always.
I've tried Maps and Sygic as applications.
My phone is rooted and I've tried also to edit GPS.conf file with the same result: maybe i get wrong on something?
I've also tried with two phones I have: Galaxy S4 Mini, (these two Galaxy S4 Mini are not rooted), anyway the result is the same: GPS find my location but the blue arrow remains immobile.
Can someone help me?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT:
I've followed this guide and the problem seems solved...
