[Q] No Recovery after CM upgrade

Hello,
hopefully someone could help me solve my issue.
i've installed the latest nightly of cm 12.1 today overwriting my previous installation of cm11 with a build from january.
the recovery i used so far was twrp.
after upgrading cm to 12.1 i can no longer access the recovery. the phone shows a black screen and reboots when i press the power button.
i've tried reflashing current and older (2.7) versions of twrp with odin but with no success.

You should have flashed official lollipop first, to get the latest bootloader. And you should begin there. And then flash twrp for your rom and cm12.1 using twrp.
Use a cm12.1 rom from development forums instead. E.g temaseks.
so just to make it clear for the dummy kind of user which i seem to be the necessary steps are:
1. getting a stock lp rom and flash this
2. flashing a custom recovery
3. flashing custom rom (e.g. temaseks or standard cm12.1)
Does the Phone have to be rooted for these steps? It looks like it has lost its root status with the update to 12.1 or when i tried to re-flash the broken recovery partition.
thanks for your patience.

Best way to flash CM 12.1

Hello people, unfortunately I have no time to read this big forum in order to get the informations I'm asking for in this thread, so I hope you understand and could contribute giving me the infos, it won't take much time. So here are the questions:
(before you proceed, I'm at the moment, using stock 5.0.2 ROM, unrooted, in my d802)
1. Should I flash CM 12.1 over Lollipop stock ROM or it's better to go back to KitKat stock ROM before?
2. What's the best method to root d802?
3. In order to get CM 12.1 I should: root -> install twrp bumped -> flash CM12.1 -> flash gapps. Is that right?
Thank you in advance
ypu need to read..we all did at some point.. but click on my signature where it says HERE and it will take you to guides how to's and fixes loo at root and use what ever workd for you.. remeber to use only d802 files. for you d802. and have in mind you may have a refurbished phone.. sometimes they say d802 when motherboard is d800-ls980...
root.. the install autorec from playstore.. install twrp... search for thermal twrp from blastagator and update that twrp to the thermal one.
also flash hybridbootstacks for your variant.. install in twrp... then reboot twrp not to system but from twrp into twrp again to take effect.. then flash rom and gapps.
Question..is it a must that he updates to thermal twrp from the Auto rec version twrp 2.8? Is it because of the "bump"..not sure what that is

[Q] TWRP and modified boot.img. Note 3 SD - Kenzo.

Hello,
I've a question about TWRP for Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon - Kenzo. If I flash it and don't install modified boot.img I'll go into bootloop? Or it's happening only on older official ROM's?
But for example if I need that modified boot.img and I flash it for my currently using ROM and everything is working ok... But if later update comes to my official ROM I need to re-flash boot.img again for that new version of ROM to boot into TWRP again or it's permanent?
Thank you for the answer.
SOLVED: Yup, I need to re-flash new boot.img

Remove stock recovery in custom ROM

When I was using MIUI, I rooted my device installed TWRP Recovery and then flashed custom ROM ( Lineage OS 15.1). But mistakenly when I want to roll back to MIUI then I flashed stock mi recovery with the help of TWRP Recovery. Now I want to flash TWRP Recovery on my device since I am unable to flash MIUI with stock recovery.
I am currently using Custom ROM and unable to root the device with the help of stock recovery. And my phone doesn't connect to PC which is another problem.
Please give me a solution to this problem, you only tell me how to install TWRP now without root and with stock recovery. Else I will see myself.
Copy the attached file to internal storage. Rename to "update.zip". Go to stock recovery. Click update.
Notes :
- TWRP 2.8.7 for kitkat bootloader, else for lolipop. Wrong file could lead you to bootlop.
- Pay attention to lowercase. I got an error because of "Update.zip" rather than "update.zip"
I can't attach the link due to forum restriction. Just add "www[dot]mediafire[dot]com" at the beginning of the url.

N9005 problem installing twrp

I have an N9005 device, it comes with default stock rom (5.0 lollipop), the problem is I tried to install the last TWRP version but it doesn't boot into twrp, I can only install old twrp version 2.8.7.0, and I cannot manage to get it to boot into last twrp version, as I want to install an android 12 rom and can't do it unless I have latest twrp version.
What could i do to install an android 12 rom coming from stock rom?

There's no message or screen, if i flash twrp 3.7 using Odín or adb it directly boots normal when i try to boot into recovery, but if I flash old twrp versión (2.7) it works fine
You don't need to install version 3.7 right away. Do a trial with twrp-3.5.0_9-0-hlte.img first, but flash it directly from TWRP, not through Odin. Use the IMG option to flash the recovery partition.
