current method of rooting needs an unlocked bootloader. unlocked bootloader means you lose warranty, heck you lose warranty already once you requested the unlock code. no you won't lose any feature with unlocked bootloader, once rooted, you gain more features.

But in settings developer option, it says if u enable unlocking, your phone security protection or features won't work..

those warnings are a lot of bullpoop, because even after rooting you'll keep getting official updates. it's saying you'll lose security features because once rooted you'll gain administrator rights and someone/erratic apps could mess your device.

Ok so i m just curious to know abt unlocking bootloader..what are the disadvantages or cons or features ill lost after dng it..i am sorry if asking again..but i had pretty bad experience with xperia z tats why scared to unlock bootloader for my new moto x play

Also, will i lose screen mirroring feature? Well that happened after i unlocked my xperia z also after unlocking..is there way to lock it back..like original or not?

You won't lose any feature. Root your phone n add tons of extra features to your device. its worth taking the risk of losing warranty. I rooted my device a month ago n so happy with my decision. Now I can theme my phone, titanium backup, adaway & greenify working. No more bloatware and i get SOT of 10+ hours everyday.

Did u check if screen mirroring works?

No I don't use screen mirroring but if it was broken someone would've reported it already but I haven't seen none yet. So its safe to assume that its working fine.

There are no reports of anything breaking down when x play is rooted or any features lost when rooted. You can go ahead.

Try factory reset. Restore apps without data. Or give your device some time to settle down.
Sent from my XT1562 using Tapatalk

Unlocking bootloader and rooting not cause any lags. But xposed may cause your lags. I had the same lags with xposed, but root apps without xposed will cause no lags. Titanium backup, greenify like apps work without xposed , all apps before root are present and work well after root also .

Xposed cause lags? U sure..I just wanted that coz I needed gravity box..do you think I should delete all other apps of xposed and I can keep only gravity? For battery saving I used greenify and amplify so rather saving it's draining.. Shall I delete those?

Wireless Hotspot on unrooted Sprint S4

Ive tried many of the hotspot apps in the market but none seem to work as I always get an error message. does anyone have any suggestions?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2
Yea I've been wondering the same thing.
Why don't you root and flash the mod ?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
You need to root then do the mod to get them to work
You can always unroot after flashing the mod if it is that much of a problem to be rooted.
Why not just root the phone? No harm done in rooting, right??
I was just hoping to stay stick for a while, but I guess that's not going to happen.

you can stay stock if you want yet still root. I have yet to flash a custom rom but been rooted since day 1.
Wow, the rooting process is so much easier and faster than on the original evo. It's like I barely had to do anything. Thanks for the help everyone, it was definitely worth rooting.

what does 'Half-root' mean?

Im asking because I keep hearing people say its possible to 'half-root' lolipop on the galaxy note 3, but I have no idea what that means. I wouldnt mind having lolipop if it means I can run applications which require root or run xposed module
It has no meaning and makes no sense far as I am concerned.
It means temporary root

Boot loader is locked period. They achieved a temp root but it resets after reboot.

You flash the SuperSU again? Preferably 2.79
Not sure how you are bricked, what exactly did you do?
Sent from my Portable
I fixed my bricked problem. In having trouble flashing twerp and rooting on marshmallow. Would I be able to flash the lollipop firm ware using fastboot commands the flash twerpan root?

I don't understand the issue. There is a very clear guide on how to root here https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/general/guide-how-to-root-pure-style-t3503958. I was able to install TWRP and root with relative ease. The hardest part is just making sure you read for the details.
I successfully downgraded from marshmallow to lollipop and unlocked bootloader installed TWRP and rooted, then bypassed the factory reset protection so I could log in to Google on the set up screen.

It was easier for me to root by downgrading. If that makes any sense, which it probably doesn't lol. And thanks

Im glade I bought this phone. I was so aggravated the past few days because of the factory reset protection crap, but after I learned how to bypass it all is good now. Could anyone recommend a app or modual to use to change the navigation keys?
