this is the absolute way to roll back from Marshmallow B511 to any previous version whatever it's a lollipop or kitkat.......

(MT7-L09) *NEED TO TEST FROM ANY ONE TO CONFIRM IF IT WORKING

-extract the file what you donloaded for oeminfo on ext sdcard
-open fx file explorer and grant it from SU, go to system root and make sure you mount read-write
-copy oeminfo from the extsdcard to /dev/block/platform/hi_mci0/by name and agree for overwrite, after that select the file and choose security and mark for all "read-write-exec"
-copy custom.bin for extsd to /data then choose security and mark for all "read-write-exec"
-check the country info now by *#*#2846579## if it cn, so you are on the right way
-now make a restart but first you should be on official recovery, if you are not turn off the phone open it again on bootloader and flash the official recovery ten restart
-after restart it should make "optimizing"
-after it finish take the roll back and put it in dload on the extsd
-make a local update ( if you don't have it go to dial and type *#*#2846579#*#* and choose 4)
after you make a local update the roll back should complete 100% because this file is the only roll back that compitable with B511
I promise you it will success with 100%
then put lollipop rom 326 on dload and make local update
and again I promise you it will success with 100%
-if the device didn't open after 10 mins, flash all files for the 326 by fastboot

-now you have a 326 rom but chines version.
-make root again and replace oeminfo and custom.bin for middle east version here then make a restart

Yes, i noticed it. Just downloaded all needed files for L09, i will try later and see what happens.
Tried on l09 but it fails in transition package. downloaded all the files from huawei finnish site. Well, i think i just wait for the complete marshmallow image.
there is something with whatsapp notification, because i don't allways get new message notifications and also usb-debug and hisuite dont work. when i enable usb-debug and connect cable, it won't rise flag about permmisions and computer keeps saying that device is unathorized.

2- for me i tired with kitkat rom B119 sp03

3- extract all file from B119 Sp03 and be ready to flash all of them via (fastboot)
(so may unlock your bootloader and you should have all files for adb and fastboot)

it's an easy way, no need to change the location or make any special things \\\\\
download the rollback file which I mentioned before, put it on dload on the extSdcard, and make a local update ( if local update not showing for you try a search for HwOUC.zip and flash it with Twrp recovery)
after you make a local update the roll back should complete 100% because this file is the only roll back that compitable with B511
then put what you want kitkat or lollipop rom ( for me I tried with B119sp03 kitakt and it's fail on 40%)
now enter the bootloader mode and flash all img's for the rom which you tried to flash
after finishing it opne on a stock android, so no issue try a factory reset and everything will be normal after that
Edit (important): to prevent the fail on 5% you should check the location on your device by this code

It should be hw/meafnaf (middle east version)
If it showing "file is not found" try to make a reset from settings>>backup/restore
This is important edit due to the update of B511 is for middle east.....

This is stock recovery for mt7-l09 to back from twrp to stock recovery of b326 5.1.1 in order to install MM.
You can flash stock recovery in fast boot mod if you rooted your device or installed twrp previously:

You should go into bootloader mode and open the command window from the folder that contain the stock recovery by pressing Sift from keyboard and right bottom in the mouse and choose open command window here, then type the following
fastboot flash recovery xxx.img
Replace "xxx" with the name of the img
If it showing okay then failed
Try to unlock the bootloader again by typing
fastboot oem unlock 0000000000
Replace 00000 with your unlock code
Then try to flash again

tanx it solved and recovry stock install. but when i wnat to local update roll back it fail in 5% , and i also cheek the location and it of like this : cn !! so what shuld i do now?

This is guide is how l am solved this error on my HTC Desire 816 Dual CID HTC_622 but l think this gonna work for most users with unlocked bootloader
IMPORTANT NOTICE:EVERYTHING I WROTE HERE I DONE ON MY PHONE.I AM NOT GONNA BE RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR PHONE GET BRICKED OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
1: Make sure you have Lollipop update available for your phone
2: Download update to your phone,update will be placed in Download folder in your phone internal storage.
3: Extract OTA update file on your pc.Open it with WinRar or some other zip\rar extract program.Find file firmware.zip inside and extract it to your pc.How again open file firmware.zip and inside look for recovery.img file and extract it too to your pc
4: How you need to flash extracted recovery.img file via fastboot.Boot phone in bootloader mode and flash new recovery.
5: Relock your bootloader.
6:Reboot your phone now.Again download update for your phone,and try to flash OTA update again:fingers-crossed:

Note that you don't have to relock the bootloader, it worked with it unlocked.
Also I heard it is recommended to wipe dalvik cache and cache partition after update.
There are two rules about which recovery you can use:
1) You must use the recovery for your exact model! It must also be from the same region! (recovery for A5_DUG Europe won't work for you if you have A5_DUG Asia_HK, or A5_UL any, etc.)
2) You must use the recovery from the version you are currently at OR the one you are updating to! (the recovery from 1.56.708.2 won't work if you are updating from 1.57.708.1 to 2.34.708.1, etc.)

I got the same error on my A5-UL when updating the OTA. Tried installing Google Books, but the same error happens.

I had a very similar error.
my guess is, because my phone is unlocked and modified using Link2SD and Xposed, there have been changes to the system. so It might be a good idea to flash an untouched 4.4.42 nandroid before trying to update.
That's what I did and I could update without a problem

you copy that recovery.img file to the folder where you keep your ADB/Fastboot files. then you reboot to bootloader and put your device in fastboot mode. then open a command prompt in your fastboot folder on your computer and type:

the error is because you had modified your old Rom(i,e, definitely uninstalled things from system) so it fails system check. you can find clean unchanged nandroid backups of 1.58.401 on XDA

Update Ur Moto G2-XT1068 BootLoader Version 48.87 + Latest Modem Flashing Through PC
1. This will only update your Bootloader and Modem. Your System and Recovery won't be touched.....
2. Download & Install Motorola device manager 2.5.4.exe for correct Usb drivers (choose repair if already installed) LINK
3. Download & Extract it to PC LINK
4. Switch off the phone, after that press & hold [Volume Down & Power Button] release after 5 seconds now ur Bootloader Screen will appear
5. Connect phone to PC , Now will see "USB Connected" on ur phone Bootloader Screen.
6. Open the Folder
7. Click / Open install.bat...........thats it.
FLASHING TWRP
1. Download & Install Motorola device manager 2.5.4.exe for correct Usb drivers (choose repair if already installed) LINK
2. Download TWRP Recovery LINK
3. Download & Extract Fastboot + ADB Folder LINK
4. Copy the TWRP Recovery file inside Fastboot + ADB Folder.
5. Switch off the phone, after that press & hold [Volume Down & Power Button] release after 5 seconds now ur Bootloader Screen will appear
6. Connect phone to PC , Now will see "USB Connected" on ur phone Bootloader Screen.
7. Go inside the Fastboot + ADB Folder Hold "Shift" key & right click inside the folder & click on "Open Command Window Here".
8. Type "fastboot flash recovery TWRP v3.3.1-0 titan.img" & press "Enter" Key.
9. After flashing is complete, Disconnect your Phone.
10. Use Volume Down to scroll to Recovery Option & then press Volume Up to Select Recovery to boot into TWRP Recovery
11. Now u have successfully flashed TWRP Recovery in ur Phone
RESTORE TWRP BACK FILES : [keep phone charge above 70%]
1. After flashing TWRP completely
2. Download TWRP Backup file MEGA LINK
3. Extract in PC then COPY the file in SD Card
4. Go to Recovery by sliding "Swipe to Allow Modification"
5. click on "Wipe" then "advanced wipe"
6. then select [Dalvik/ART Cache,Data,Internal Storage,Cache,System] after that swipe to wipe then click on home button
7. after that select Restore then click on Select Storage

1st Open TWRP then connect ur phone into PC copy the folder in sd card then reboot TWRP rECOVERY NOW IT WILL SHOW

if u flash through PC then old version will be deleted and instead of new version will take its place.....so dont worry at all

How to Root
1. Don't flash SuperSU from recovery, it will cause bootloop!
2. Connect your phone in Bootloader mode to PC
3. Download the modified file uploaded View attachment 3642838
4. Extract the file after that open the folder and Run the ROOT.bat file
5. Reboot your phone
6. Download and Flash SuperSU from TWRP LINK
Follow the steps correctly.......then only it will work

This is my 1st thread on XDA so if there is any issue with rules or anything, would request MODs to move the thread to correct section if found under a different one. Though I have tried my best to keep this in correct guide and discussion section, bear with me in case of anything incorrect.
Saw few users having trouble with manual OTA update/installation. Many are aware of dload folder method for update.app but this dload method doesn't work for update.zip file. So, in this guide, I am giving detailed steps for both method i.e. update.app and update.zip.
Prerequisites-
Correct package for your model. Check below link for file depot to get the correct file for your phone.
You need to have the stock recovery for your phone to apply the update.

Credit- @clsA for the file depot for all models.
Method 1- Update.app method
If you have update.app file then create a folder dload in external memory.
Copy the content of the dload folder or update.app file to dload folder in SD card root directory. (dload folder contain update.app file of size same as OTA 200-300 MBs or manual update of may be 2.5+ GB size)
Power off the phone.
Press volume up+volume down keys and simultaneously press power button.
Your phone will automatically detect the package and will start the update process.

Once the update process is successful, you will get a message as update was successful and your phone will restart automatically.
During restart, phone will verify the system image.
This verification and 1st boot may take up to 2-3 minutes so do not panic.
Validation-
Once the phone is setup, go to settings-->about phone-->check the android version and build number to verify you are running on the desired Lollipop/Marshmallow version.
Method 2- Update.zip method
If you have stock update.zip file, do not try to flash the file or OTA update with custom TWRP/CWM recovery, you may end up in boot loop. Flash the stock recovery and then go for this method.
Check internal memory if you have HwOUC folder. If there is any then take a backup in PC or external memory.
Go to setting�?�¢??updater--download OTA file around 1-2% and stop.
Now you will see HwOUC folder in internal memory with a folder inside with 5 digit number containing update.zip file. (file size would be few MBs, depend on the actual OTA size)
Copy the manually downloaded update folder to internal memory and delete the original OTA files/folders. (from above step)
Now go back to setting updater and you will see OTA progress as 1-2%, click on resume and it will be 100 % within a second.
You can restart the phone to apply the update from prompt or restart the phone to apply update.
Note- I have tested this method on my Honor 5X KIW-L22 model for 3-4 times and worked absolutely fine for me. If you face any issue or any of the step is not clear, let me know via comment below.
Make sure you have the right package or it will fail aswell.

It won't as you are doing it with stock recovery and status of bootloader doesn't change.
Once you unlock bootloader, your warranty is void.

This is official stock update that you are getting over OTA. you can directly update.

I didnt face any issue with rooted or unrooted.
Just relock the bootloader and then try update via ota or manual process. I have tested this method on KIW-L22 without any issue.

So , while writing this thread, i had a bit of confusion where to start as here am posting as many problems that users normally face which may be related to flashing (before,while and after). So most problems starts up after flashing . since there as a sequence which i wrote before, lets begin with "BEFORE" followed by "WHILE" and "AFTER". This isnt a grammer class so stop holding ur nerves and lets come to the point.
BEFORE FLASHING :
Mostly People as a few questions related to "How to root" , if he/she got this doubt. So here we begin
Problems we usually face while unlocking a bootloader.

I am not able to unlock bootloader even after having unlock code, plz help me
well, plz eanble developer options by heading over to settings/about phone and tab on build number for 7 times and fget back to settings followed by developer options and check for oem unlock and plz enable it. Done , now ur code works to unlock ur bootloader from fastboot.
Iam not able to unlock bootloader due to honor site saying "INVALID CREDENTIALS" , "PLEASE ENTER A VALID IMEI/S.NO/MODEL NUMBER"
Well, i am sorry to say u this.
Here we had only two solutions.
1) If u wants to unlock your bootloader for free, plz contact honor support and give them the required info , if they gave u an unlock code then plz use it.
2) This is a paid service . i never used this but heard success from the one's who tried this. Try DC-UNLOCKER
I unlocked bootloader, but twrp wont boot after flashing it.
Check if the FRP status on fastboot is unlocked . If it is locked, then u cant flash anything even on an unlocked bootloader.
AFTER FLASHING
So here u flashed a twrp recovery. Here i see most of them asking a common question
i just installed twrp, flashed LOS ROm but am not able to boot it, stuck at bootanimation, or IS IN BOOTLOOP..
If you are having above questions, then am pretty sure u forgot to install vendor.zip .
if u dont know whats vendor.zip and where to find it. kindly check here and then u go.
i just installed twrp, flashed LOS ROM but am not able to remove encryption.
Plz always install a latest version of twrp , just wipe data,cache, and dalvik/RT cache . flash the rom and gapps(optional) also make a factory reset after flashing so that we can confirm that u are safe side
I flashed an "X" rom , booted and using that since "n" number of days, the battery is draining heavily. Plz help me.
Plz contact the developer of ur rom and provide them proper logs to solve ur issue.

The reason behind this problem is , U flashed an ota update with twrp and then the flashing is incomplete . just like u flashed an update.zip and not the regional zip.
in order to over come such , all u need to do is reset the version number.
LO4 users plz flash this zip from twrp and then flash ur desired update.app build for LO4.
LO2 users plz flash this zip from twrp and then flash ur desired update.app build for LO2.
L19 users plz flash this zip from twrp. [zip has update.app in it andd flash directly [Thanks to @Venugopalu007 ]

Compass on stock rom is well calibrated. plz make sure if there is something that effects compass in ur surroundings. (magnets, wifi router close to u etc)

That may be an issue with the theme u are using, kindly change ur theme or revert to origioanl theme from themes app.

Ah, if u use CHinese Honor and in EMUI 5.0, u cant Unlock OEM in Developer mode because it doesnt have. Rollback to EMUI 4.1 and go to adb command
adb oem unlocking hit enter
then u go to bootloader to unlock ur device.

flashing stock firmware
Hi,
I'm facing an issue while trying to going back to EMUI. I have L09C432. Here what I did:
- I was on LOS with lastest TWRP
- I put the rolling back UPDATE.APP (81 Mb) in the dload of my sdcard then reboot with vol+ vol- and power pressed.
- I did the same with the big UPDATE.APP (3,30 Go) from frd-l09c432b120.zip
- Now i'm stuck, I can't do anything. I don't go far then the "you'r device is booting" message.
I tried the unbrick mod with Huawei Multi Tool, everything going fine but it doesn't change anything.
I tried to flash twrp for 4.1, nothing.
Plus I can't turn off my phone.
Any help will be appreciate, thanks in advance!

This should be easy, if you are not planning on changing region.
Basically you need to find the twrp version for the EMUI version that you are going to run eventually.
And then just flash the files from FF according to the guides.

I would also like to change that if you can ... TWRP I installed it and it works, but when I try to flash a rom, it fails, if I try to update it with vol + and vol - it gets to 5% and crashes.

If you are trying to flash a rom different than the region that your phone is configured for it will fail.
I believe, at least I know it was so before because I done on marshmallow, that you need to change the region configuration before flashing the different region rom.

Hi guys, do you have a TWRP backup of L29c432 that you can restore?
I am having the same issue. Tried to debrand L29 to AL10. Somewhere in between bricked the phone and now I get no os installed in twrp. Tried flashing the update.app , fails at 5%. Twrp says can't mount system,cust,data. Tried flashing the update.zip from twrp. That also failed. System partition is showing as only 2 mb.
EDITkay, I can mount system now, but not data and cust. I tried converting their file system to fat and back to exfat4 but that's also not possible.
Any solutions?
can you boot to fastboot mode? if you can use this command to know exactly what you have. then debrand to the original firmware. flash the original recovery then force restore via erecovery (vol+ vol- power) use same firmware update.app
AL10 can update up to oreo.
fastboot oem get-product-model
fastboot getvar vendorcountry
fastboot oem get-build-number
Finally found a twrp by which I was able to format data . But now it says can't mount system although it can read it. I tried the commans you posted and it says that I have the AL10C00B320 version. But in twrp it says no os installed and everytime I reboot it boots to Huawei erecovery.

can't find a AL10C00B320 firmware finder . i found this NXT-L29C432B320

and try to flash this twice via fastboot
reboot to erecovery the factory reset. then force restore using the update.app for NXT-L29C432B320. the factory reset then reboot.
I do have a AL10B320 rom . Flashed it with twrp, says cant mount system . Falshed it via dload. Fails at 5% and says incompatible system. Flashed the img files via fastboot. Everything geta flashed but the phone gets stuck at bootloop. Also flashed the hw update file for AL10B320, same thing.

This is the result of the fastboot commands. I think I have the product model in my phone as next instead of Huawei NXT-AL10 or NXT-L29. If somehow I edit the model version in update.app or the update.zip to be NEXT , then maybe it can install with dload. Anyway to edit the files?

did you factory reset after flashing?
extract everthing in the update.app and flash it one by one. verlist.img in the update.app is the one holds the version you can open it via note pad or notepad++ to see whats version. if u succeed in flashing the verlist.img the erecovery might work.

why don't you try dload method..i'm just revived my Mate 8 today after 3 and half days try to find solution after debranding from L29 to AL10..haha..is it on EMUI 4.0 or EMUI 4.1? this is the instructions to solve the problem:-
1. you need to flash stock recovery. Just use SRK Tool by @somboons. Please choose the stock recovery based on your EMUI
2. Try to flash AL10C00B386 https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69331930&postcount=1338 (download firmware the last link on the thread) by using dload method.
3. If success, use SRK Tools to change oeminfo and custom.bin (need to be unlocked bootloader and root)
4. You can follow the rest of instruction from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/guide-how-to-install-nougat-al10c00b523-t3500327

Okay, I managed to fix it. AL10C00B320 was not working, so I thought why not flash an older version. So I dloaded the AL10C00B192 firmware . It reached till 48% then failed. So I thought there's some hope. Flashed the firmware via twrp. Had the same errors but result was successful. Rebooted and the phone is working fine now. It's updating to nougat now . Everything is working fine now except hat sim1 is not working. There was a fix to this.
After I flashed L29C185 CUST sim1 started working but the model changed to NEXT and stopped updating. So after flashing cust should I again change oem and rebrand?

After I flashed L29C185 CUST sim1 started working but the model changed to NEXT and stopped updating. So after flashing cust should I again change oem and rebrand?

Sorry for late reply..your Mate 8 still can't update?For AL10 it's common problem if you debrand from L29. Try to flash another stock firmware from FF that have FullOTA-MF. That is might be working for you..Just try it first..

It's okay now. I have updated to the latest oreo version for nxt-al10.

Glad to hear it..when i changed to AL10 or DL00 there are a few settings that are not in global firmware..i think it's only for devices in China
Hi guys, forgive my incapacity.
After all this time my Mate8 is still unusable.
I tried to follow the steps I found here, but trying to load via dload the AL10C00B386 arrived at 35% then it stopped.
I would like to get the NXT-L29C432B581 or later ROM.
The basic phone is a Chinese al10.
I know to ask you a lot, nobody could make me a step by step guide or upload a backup from TWRP ???

Hi Friend, You can get your firmware in Firmware Finder app available on Google Play store.
Dload you did with files on SD card and not internal storage, I hope. If not, put it in SD card and try.
Sorry, I read your previous messages now. Let me know your Original build i.e., AL, DL, or L29. Which last working rom you were on and what you did after that.

Hello on the packaging there is written NXT-AL10.
Bought from China, the supplier has put a European ROM (I do not remember which one it was). At the moment the NRD90M test-keys is installed on the phone, emui 5 android 7.
