Hi everybody,
It's been a while I tried to flash CWM touch using odin... and after it failed, my phone didn't started it displayed :"firmware upgrade encountered an issue"
I followed this video instructions and it started again
I didn't realized the file used in this video was made for SIII (i9300) !
philz_touch_6.07.9-i9300.tar.md5
May be that's why I can't access to the inbuilt recovery mode and not that flashed recovery either...
Last night, I tried to flash another CWM version. It failed and I had to do the same thing again
Anyway, I could restore original recovery menu or install an appropriate custom recovery on my phone ?
Please I don't like to flash a new rom these days. Phone is doing great !
Thank you

Download twrp for your device from twrp.me and flash the tar version in Odin.
https://dl.twrp.me/jfltexx/
Does your phone boot? If it boots and is rooted you could use the app Flashify to flash the twrp.img file. No Odin required.
You can download the img file from the link in the previous post.
Thank you guys
I didn't found your replies in the notifications !
That's a good idea. I went to official CWM website and flashed the appropriate version using SGS4 flasher
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.bvgemert.flasher&hl=en
Now I'm ok with the last CWM touch version.
Thank you

You should take into consideration that CWM is outdated and you may have flash issues due to that reason.

Well i kind of know the rules of XDA.
But here's the catch, i have tried that method mentioned above.
Downloaded the .tar file and flashed via Odin. And now my phone is stuck on Samsung logo forever.
That's why posted here.

Hey
You are only flashing a kernel...not a full 4.4.2 original image.
And that's why you're stock on the boot logo.
Regards.

As mentioned you are flasing only kernel, i use odin 1.85

take the battery out wait 5-10 secs and enter to download mode to avoid modem issues.
its not recomendable but if you have a backup of a pit file for your phone select it and thick re-partition, this is dangerous but may help with bootloop only if flashing the firmware with no repartition work, repartition with out a pit file may brick your device.

One more noob question..
I did a back up of my touchwiz before converting to CM.
And i got the back up file as normal file folder instead a zip file.
I wonder if there is a way to restore it.
I already tried zipping it and restoring from philz recovery...but it says bad file.

you´re welcome.
did you do the backup from philz recovery? i never did a backup from recovery, only with titanium, so i really dont know, but to restore a backup needs to be done from the same source that the backup was created. for the screen shots looks like a CWM recovery backup good luck.

yes its a cwm backup file created with philz..
And i was able to restore it via the recovery under restore oiption.
but after the first samsung screen (samsung galaxy s4) and a blue T logo, it gets struck on the third screen with only samsung written on it with a solid blue led.
(( what the heck am i doing wrong.
Anyway i flashed the full image with odin..(taken from your link).
And back to touchwiz again.
Thanks a lot.
One more thing is, it changed my baseband version a bit.
Build number : I9506XXUCNJ1
bASEBAND vERSION : I9506XXUCNF3
IS THAT A PROBLEM ?

Sorry to bother you again.
But i am facing a new kinda problem now with custom recoveries.
After flashing NEE-I9506XXUCNJ1-20141114075501 yesterday it got auto updated to 5.0.1 lollipop .
Now i am stuck with stock recovery.
Tried to flash philz 6.x.x.x as before with odin. The odin process completes itself and reboots the phone.
But when i try to get into recovery still its booting in stock recovery.
Any solution on how can i flash custom recovery on this ?
Additional info
Baseband version : I9506XXUDOA6
bUILD NUMBER : LRX22C. I9506XXUDOA6
Flash your Favorite Custom Recovery with Odin 3.xx and put it to AP. Check that Auto Reboot isn't marked. After successful flashing your Phone won't to reboot. USB Cable out and put your Battery out and wait few seconds. Put your Battery in and reboot it to Recovery. The Stock Recovery can't now overwrite the Custom Recovery.

in lollipop i used TWRP recovery (TWRP_2.8.4.0_ks01lte_20150207.tar.md5)https://www.mediafire.com/folder/p3rwwfm7xn76x/TWRP flashed with odin 1.85 no problems.
but after rooting with cf autoroot http://download.chainfire.eu/502/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-ks01lte-ks01ltexx-gti9506.zip( extract and flash with odin in pda) because cf autorrot flash stock recovery after rooting.
Important after rooting flash immediately custom recovery, if you boot in stock recovery after root all apps will force close and you will need to wipe data (stock recovery wipe data will delete internal memory as well), so do not boot in stock recovery.

Hi all
I bought a Note 3 LTE version abroad while on vacation. I wanted to root it to install custom roms. I ran the root checker app and it is already rooted. So now I want to install a custome recovery. Here is the problem. When I check in the settings the model is shown as Sm9005 and baseband is N9005ZHUENE1. There is a sticker under the battery which also shows as SM9005. However the housing at the back shows AT 900a. I installed the phone info app and it shows below details
Model SM9005
Device type hltecan
Product name hltecan
Original CSC code CHN
Firmware a CSC code ATT
Active CSC code CHN/ATT
CSC country Hongkong
Boot loader version N900AUCUCNC2
Baseband version N900AUCUCNC2
PDA N9005ZHUENE1
CSC version N900W8OYACNB7
Kernel 3.4.0-722276 [email protected]#1
I am confused about which recovery to install. I tried to install the international version using TWRP manager and it failed. Same for hltecan. Now the recovery is messed up. When I try into recovery it says secure fail recovery. Can you all please help me identify the correct model for my phone and how to fix the recovery
When you on your device which model shown?? Post screen shots

I'm facing the same problem while trying to flash the custom recovery ... and now i can't use stock recovery ..

Finally I reinstall stock firmware from SAM Mobile, but same results. somehow trying to install TWRP is refused when entering recovery mode.
If I disable in Odin reboot option and carefully enter to recovery avoiding the system to restore the old recovery, It will no enter recovery mode until I let the phone show the telco logo and then I get original recovery.
As something new I noticed USB debugginf ius disable to turn it ON/OFF. This is a mobile phone in a company plan with the local telco. Maybe it is restricted to root or to install another firmware.
I give up... I appreciate comments on this...
when you finish the flash of the TWRP file for J110M you must be hold the vol up and home until the phone reboot twice, the second reboot enter to the TWRP mode
I have the j110m and the way to get TWRP to work is to try both versions. 3.0.0.0 got stuck on the boot and never got me into recovery it always went to the provider logo. I tried the other one (2.XX) with ODIN, had auto reboot ticked off, and just like the guy above said wait till the second boot. Voila
---------- Post added at 04:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:45 PM ----------
by the way, is there any chance in seeing Cyanogenmod on this? Im looking and looking but I cant find anything. Just one post where some guy wants to port CM 12 but no one has responded to his post yet.

Hi..
Subject: Installing the custom recovery and latest cyanogenmod on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900.
A few details :
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900 running on stock rom Android version 4.4.2 and the build Number is N900XXUDND1. It is an Indian version.
I rooted my phone via Odin cfautoroot successfully but was not unable to load custom recovery cwm since the phone would go blank and stuck in boot loop.
I had to reinstall the stock firmware 4.4.2 via odin but could not install custom recovery via Odin and again stuck in boot loop . I reinstalled firmware 4.4.2 and tried installing custom recovery via flashify me app but again the phone went blank although I could go to download mode but stuck in boot loop.
I again reinstalled firmware 4.4.2 via odin but later I could not even root my phone via Odin!!..so I rooted my phone via king root app successfully and then changed it to supersu me root successfully without a problem.
Now the problem is I want to load custom recovery in order to load Cyanogenmod.
I tried installing cwm recovery via the clockworkmod app but it does not recognize my device officially.
I tried installing custom recovery via twrp app but getting error there also.
Now this is the info I see when I am in download mode:
ODIN MODE.
PRODUCT NAME: SM-N900.
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official.
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom.
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1
RP SWREV: A4
Is the bootloader locked in my device? Is this the reason I am unable to load custom recovery? I don't even know how to check the present status lock/unlock status of bootloader
I want to load custom recovery(cwm or twrp) and load the latest cyanogenmod at the earliest and I would appreciate if I can get step by step details of doing so.
Is it possible to do this without using a computer?...
Thanking you...
You do not need to root the phone before installing a custom ROM. You can install a custom recovery using Odin.

Flash the stock firmware for your variant "N900L" then right after, boot to Recovery and apply "Data/Factory reset" then reboot to system.

I have done like what you said , but it stuck in Samsung note 3 logo and showing in top recovery boot.
I downloaded a recovery from the rom file
Now i can boot in recovery and perform factory reset ..
But still boot loop .
Posts make no sense .
<i bought sm-n900l and found that it converted to sm-n9005
Does that mean you flashed N9005 firmware and potentially bricked your phone ??
<I downloaded a recovery from the rom file
Very very confused as to what you mean by recovery from rom file and how you flashed it .
I would flash TWRP recovery through Odin and boot to recovery .
Then format data cache system .
Then boot to download mode and flash stock rom .
Its possible with all the multiple rom flashing you have the wrong bootloader .
