Hello,
why is it not possible to way to sim unlock the Samsung S5 G900f ?
I readed many threads and i found out that there is no option exept paying for my phone AGAIN.
I am verry furious about it and i just wanted to ask is there no developer or somebody who knows android from the bottom to the top who could solve that problem ?
If i would be a developer i would work on that problem till it is solve but until i know evreything about android we probably would have Galaxy S25 ...

Thats what i meant by paying again for my device.
If you unlocked it once, it should still be unlocked, flashing ROMs shouldn't make any difference to the SIM unlock status

Hi Guy,
I need some help Sim unlocking my new Samsung Galaxy s5 european edition (SM-G900F). I assumed it would be a similar process to sim unlocking my S3 but i cant find anything which works. I am currently locked to EE and i need it to work with Vodafone.
The only xda thread for it i can find is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2717361 but the first step doesnt even work to get into debug service menu via the dialer.
Do any of the old sim unlocker apps still work after people have testest like voodoo sim unlock http://project-voodoo.org/android-apps ?
Could some one help me get my phone sim unlocked ?
note. i still havent rooted the phone as i have read that it needs to be stock for the sim unlock process to work.

Since you have not rooted, there is no way to launch the secret codes.
If you have rooted, you can use my app Phone INFO ★Samsung★ --> enter the menu 'Secret Codes' to launch the secret codes.

Ok il root it thats no issue but would your app allow me to sim unlock it then or is that just to get in to the debugging menu ?

Debug menu, Service main menu, Unlock menu... etc
It allow you unlock only if you do have unlock code.

You didn't search very hard as there are literally dozens, if not hundreds of S5 SIM unlock threads. In short, there is no known free method. The old methods for the S3/S4 do not work on the S5. You can read more here which is just one of many threads on the subject.
You will have to pay a third party vendor (Ebay, et al) to unlock your SIM if your carrier won't provide you with an unlock code. And as you might expect, most carriers will not.

You have to purchase it (online), or it you don't want to pay you can request it from Samsung by following this guide (if you are lucky)

I really dont get it. If any website could create this codes, why is there no option for us to do it by ourselfs. Every phone shop can do this and I bet they dont all ask Samsung for the codes. So HOW do they do it? What software or generator do they use and why dont we use it too?

Do you mean "simlocked" ? Which firmware is actually installed and in which country you want to use the phone?

Dear sir my phone is locked to SAUDI ARABIA mobile provider called MOBILY, i want to unlock it to use in sri lanka. When i put a sim that is curruntly use in sri lanka And when i turn on it ask "ENTER NETWORK UNLOCK CODE" with 2 buttons ok and dismiss.
I dismiss it and continue iam able to use phone and it shows full signal but no career name and emergency call only. When i make a call it shows not registerd on network. Plzz help me
Same problem here. I tried whole different ways including reflashing ROM but didn't work. Then I found Region unlock app by chainfire. It worked like a charm. Also you need to root your mobile first. Rooting method is somewhere in xda. Search it . Hope it helps.

Now I see that on the lower side of the boxes has a warning on regional SIM lock. The solution of Samsung is to activate a 5 minute call with a European SIM. For me, it is a lote complicated from my country
I'm seeing that an application that unlocks it for Note 3 rooted. Somebody knows if esta apk with The G360F work?

Hello, i have the same problem, there phone Samsung sm g360f which is locked to the Portuguese operator = MEO, want to unlock all operators but I when I try to install software at the end of the process gives me an error that there is insufficient space to install the file. I can only install software that is MEO and those of Vodaphone gives me an error, whether 4.4.4 or 5.0.2
When give me error when I can only install this file (G360FXXU1AOB1_G360FBTU1AOD1_G360FXXU1AOB1_HOME.tar) for Downgrade and repear the smastphone. Pleace help me , I tried with all versions of Odin and it is not work it

try install true or custom firmware to fix problem, some firmware on samsung firmware site is lock and you must Buy country lock code from this site

I installed the region lock away 1.3, it didn't unlock my core prime (t-mobile) G360T. Any ideas or inputs highly appreciated.

Why do you expect to have them unlocked for free??? If that is the network provider policy to lock their phones because they are subsidised so be it. You van unlock the phone for 30 Eur everywhere so I guess that's the only option.

Long time admirer, not a big poster. More of a reader. I couldnt find anything relevant to my question hence the thread.
So from what Ive gleaned on xda the G935 version can be rooted, my question is can I bypass a carrier lock through a custom ROM or would this be possible just by rooting?
A friend has a G935 that has been blocked to Optus and I was wondering if I could help him resolve the issue and help him bring it over to Telstra by some "black magic" as he calls it.

Ive tried unlocking rooted phones before myself with no luck. Not sure if its possible without some special hardware and programs. There is a guy on here that has unlocked my sprint s7e and lg g5 before. He hooks up to u remotely and runs a program. I think he charges 15$ and it works 100% till u factory reset. Search "sprint unlock" and u will prob run across a couple of his threads. U can ask him if your model is compatible with his method

hey i got my note 4 (N910P) from Texas and brought it to my home country India so i just read the message but i wanted to confirm that if i flash my sprint note 4 (N910P) with a different country rom or any other rom then will it be causing any problem ? i have unlocked it but i am now facing the issues with the carrier featured applications so it is unlocked and ya of course i will keep the model no. in mind for finding the rom then it will be good to go right if i flash it with the same model no. the country doesn't matter ? also tell me how can i become sure of that it is unlocked

You should probably ask this in the Note 4 forum of XDA...
And no, the country doesn't usually matter as long as you are using a ROM that wasn't edited by a carrier (a lot of ROMs on sammobile, for example).

Well, one simple way is get another active SIM card, insert it and try to call someone. If it works, it's unlocked. If there's an error, it's still carrier-locked. Other option is installing GalaxSim Unlock, and open it - if it offers to unlock your phone, it's still locked, but if it says anything like "lock is not present" or "SIM Lock Status: undefined", it's unlocked.
