The "[ROM][WT88047][M][6.0.x] CyanogenMod unofficial builds" is really reliable.
I have been using it extensively since it was initially released... and now it works really smooth.
The only bug which may hamper (but not that much) the daily use I still have in my 20140811 version using 20160108 ROM's version is:
- Robot voice (not understandable) when I activate the loudspeaker on Voip/Skype;
I saw this was fixed with later versions but in my phone, those version make difficult to connect to Bluetooth.
therefore I am waiting foe next releases.

Greetings over there,
after testing some Androids on my hd2 and recognizing that NAND Flash is now available it would be nice to know if there is an bugfree reliable release out worth to flash and long term trust in. Actually I use Froyo HD adaption from Desire HD, and I really like it, if there wouldnt be a problem, making me sound very bad in phone calls to the other side which I just know from my first tested release which also was a froyo I think.
Thx for your hints,
Its a great resource over here!
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Tytung's Nexus 1.9b release is VERY stable. He really puts a lot of effort into his builds. I havent had any issues and I have been using his builds for a while now...I think a lot of others will agree. It isnt sense though.
go over to the nand forum section and check the changelogs
but there is a desire z build in the sd forum section that is nand i liked it very much had no problems, just one reboot and perfect. i would check the desire z nand build out first cuz it is lighter and faster than hd builds

It seems very difficult to keep sight on which builds will be best for what you want. Isn't it amazing how many ROMs have been published in the past 12 days, and how many of those have been updated (some: multiple times) since their first presentation.
Personally I wouldn't mind if the number of releases would be halved, when the number of 'this or that is'nt working' reports would halve as well.....

You should take a look on this build, really..
But i like playing around with the phone, so i installed Gingerbread from mdj
For daily use i would use the Nexus 1.9b.

Exactly. You got the / my point!
It's relly amazing how much developement is done. But it becomes more and more difficult to decide for a build. I need to use a release for atleast a week to know if it is reliable enough. Some have instable internet, some bad speech quality, on some the cam hung up... and I started to test in october, when most major bugs were fixed.
Maybe some review / documentation / moderation is needed. Is there an easy way to make a poll where everyone can insert release name and vote on some options like cam / i-net / phonequal. / speed overall / etc. ? I will have a look for smth. in this way.
I will give Tytung's Nexus 1.9b a try. As long as I just have to rename my old Android folder everything is fine. But that is also the biggest problem with NAND releases... you need to backup evereything instead of renaming, quite annoying if you get a bug that forces you to flash back (btw ).
For me the most important is a always working internet connection and good speech quality. (what else these phones are really made for)

That means, we can get the Nexus One port to our phones, the beloved HD2!
cant wait to use it on tytungs build
Looking forward to it.
Hope we'll celebrate X-mas with ICS on HD2!
Not sure if I really want this on my HD2 - don't get me wrong but if HD2 will be choppy that was the one of the big reasons I went with HD2 itself and moved away from WinMo 6.5... Now, just to get new stuff I have to deal with choppiness (unless it is customized and tuned up fairly nicely so it is a smooth operator) - then yes... :L)
Well, it's exciting news, but after reading up on user experience from the hand ons during the event I am in no haste to upgrade. Obviously they still have time to release, it's work in progress and, I think Engadget editors, identified at least 4 different software builds which had different components broken/working.
Any of these ROM's will use that work in progress as their base. I guess what I'm trying to say is even if the port of the ROM is somehow perfect day one (which always takes time), the ROM itself will still be mighty buggy.
On a sidenote, I only joined Android post 2.3 so I can't talk about earlier releases, or whether past history is even relevant, but I somehow doubt that even Google can make the 4.0 ROM anywhere near as stable as 2.3.5 is at the moment. There is still time, though not much, and I'm really doubtful I will even want to use 4.0 as my main ROM. I hope I'm wrong or at least a 4.0.1 will get released within two/three weeks and make ICS reliable.
That is why, for now, we can use an ICS theme/reskin for our stable Gingerbread and make it feel almost like the real thing, but without the instability
Beeing using the Nexus s I9020T with ICS for a while now, tought i share what i think of them working together. this is not a technical review with scores and such so please don't expect such information here. in fact i'm not going to mention any of the developers, kernel or ROM names here.
Background
Had Nexus one, when the Nexus S arrived i sold it and bought the NS.
I really liked the N1 and it was not easy to let it go, i liked how it felt in my hand and it was a good device... anyway... i tried many roms (almost any ROM and Kernel that were available at that time) with the N1, and then with the NS. these two devices had almost any ROM flashed to them day and night.
Almost there
at the beginning there was no official ICS rom for the NS nor even a full SDK source
but some PORTS where around so i had to try them out.
liked the way it looks but that's it. no stability, many bugs. not for daily use... not even for a night use. going from one build to another didn't make any difference. for example: none of the PORTS managed to activate the Bluetooth device. there was a missing driver (binary) and none of the developers managed to overcome the problem.
ICS SDK
At first a full SDK was released. Builds were a bit better but not enough.
still couldn't use it every day and always had to go back to 2.3.7
at this point i thought: "well i guess i'l have to wait for google to release an official OTA update and then i'll see some real action right ?"
well that was not just a thought but more like logic with a bit of knowing how google usually works. i thought that when google will release an official version for the NS it will probably run smoother because it will have hardware acceleration and google will put a new kernel, and they will make sure it runs well
ICS OTA
"What a great day" i stupidly thought to myself. "finally a new version for my device" i was so stupidly proud (like i made this phone or something) anyway...
i just went from smiling to almost crying ... "Thats it ?" i yelled at it (my NS) "Is that all you got ? What is going on here ? is this for real ? it can't be ... the update.zip file must be fake ! (didn't really think it was a fake...) it can't be it ? this is it ? this is ICS ? slow, unresponsive, slow, and slow ? that's all there is ? and in addition to that it was very very slow...
"ICS Roms"
Used all custom ICS roms available and any tweaked kernel that i found. yet,
still too slow for me...
my current Rom and kernel are the fastest i could find and don't get me wrong it is stable,no bugs and i use it daily. but after using gingerbread for so long, i guess i got use to the speed too much, after using it for a week, i'm starting to get use to it i can't say that it is great for me now... but i'm not giving up !
Calling All Devs
Hopefully we will start seeing some tweaked kernel and optimized custom roms soon. for now my NS will rest ... just for now...

No, this is not one of the usual 'What's the best ROM out there' threads.
I am looking for something specific and hoping all you people can be of help.
I have been using a MIUI NAND ROM for some time now and been very happy with it but am now looking for a change with all the new stuff I see out there.
However, one of the reasons I am using the MIUI ROM is that it was one of the few at the time that supported WiFi Hotspot. The Gingerbread ROMs at the time didn't work.
Do any of the newer ICS ROM's support Hotspot working? If so, which ones have people used. I would perhaps like a move back to a Sense ROM if there is one our there to recommend, but this isn't a prime requirement.
Before you all shout at me, I have looked through the current threads on ROM's, but the issue of working Hotspot is not one that crops up very often, hence this question.
Thanks for reading, and looking forward to all your recommendations
If you read carefully you'll find that in most cases its NATIVE Wi-Fi hotspot that doesn't work, whilst third party hotspot apps do. No I can't recommend one, never used it.
+1 really wanna push this thread....
I basically got stuck with 2 (/3)
NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 V1.1 tytung <--my old favourite, had this installed for 2 days (until I broke my "new" phone - but will work again this week)
PACman HD2 v1.1 [PA/AOKP/CM10] Xylo <--my new favourite, from what I read
(EvoHD2v10 ICS 4.0.4-full HWA "Fastest ICS ever" ) <--whats with good old ICS?
convince me. I want a stable running daily use OS. shouldnt have major bugs (like reboots/having to restart/phone etc.), like in tytungs ROM, I once answered a call and there was just a "brrrrrrrrrrrrrr" <--"phone" not responding do you want to close it, pretty bad
If its very customizable/technical (like xylo) - fine, I love to be able to engineer my own things (I dont care if minor bugs)
so what do you guys think? which one do you enjoy the most and why
Probably this has been addressed before but cannot find it easily.
On the Elephone forum , it has been stated that this malware is present on stock rom on the P9000. Can it be removed, stopped or is it advisable simply to install a different rom to avoid it? If another rom is the way to go, which is the most stable?
Thanks in advance
I tested CM13 final build 3 and is working fine for me. I only use the phone for gaming and internet browsing. I think is the best ROM, you can customize it a lot.

Unless you want your personal data transferred elsewhere on a regular basis I would agree that it's essential to ditch the stock ROM. For me the fact it has this backdoor is a major deal-breaker. Plus, the fact that the fingerprint sensor is useless in the stock ROM is also a deal-breaker for me.
I have not tried CM13 Final Build 3, but I did flash Final build 4 and found it was a *dramatic* improvement over the stock (once the audio fix was applied) until I found that Bluetooth Audio did not work. I then tried Final Build 5 which although BT Audio worked, regular audio didn't :crying:. I am now beginning to think perhaps I can live without Bluetooth Audio for a while
The fingerprint sensor in CM13 FB4/5 was dramatically improved (for me at least) and probably 80% reliable (up from about 20%)

Not rooted yet, used Debloater
First time here. Thanks for your posts.
I have the same problem with my brand-new P9000. Still unrooted. Anyway, after googling around I found a short guide on wonderhowto.com. It looks legit and I used Debloater (by Gatesjunior) to block com.adups.fota, com.adups.fota.sysoper.
Also blocked com.elephone.elephoneuserfeedbackv1, after reading an old but ominous post on xda-developers (adware in an official OTA update for the p7000).
Hope this helps.

Is there a cm 13 build for p9000 lite?
Had the same experience with this company. Obviously are also "official supported" Roms infected, as the Aerom, because it based on the stock rom. As far i know only eragon and CM have this trojan not in their distribution.
Of course there are ways to temporarily stop this Backdoor Services. Debloater is one of them. But they was many postings on reddit about this tool, and it seems that the Service renew and restart as soon the Device is rebooted.
But to say it frankly. A Company who sell me a device with some trojan rootkit, which will spy my passwords, personal data and who knows what else, has lose all my trust.
For this and for some other reasons (payment software, fingerprint) i dumped this phone after nearly 2 months. Thanks god Amazon customer service worked flawless like usual. Elephone never again. Bought instead a nice oneplus 3T which is from other dimension compared to the elephone p9000.
Would be interesting to know how many other chinese phone manufacturers do the same thing. I doubt big players like xiaomi and huawei would risc their reputation with such a moronic move.
Just read this on the Elephone forum regarding FOTA (Firmware over the air) Software by ADUPS -
¨ From version 5.5 and up this capability was removed. ¨ LINK see post #9 for more info and how to check your phone. I assume this is fact.
