Hi all,
I am getting number ported from another network onto T-Mob. When i first got the phone i was given a temporary number which is no longer in use as my old orange number has been ported today. Now in the Phone application my old number is displayed. Is this likely to change or do i have to do something on the phone to force the change???
Tar very much
Couldn't find it myself either, somebody else finally told me where it's at
Start > Programs > SIM Manager > Tools > List of Own Numbers
First number listed there - tap that, and edit it.
Edit: soft-reset after change required - just power down (hold the on/off button for a few seconds), then power back on
Erm, there is no sim manager on my phone. I have the T-Mob MDA Vario.
lol
This is starting to bug me now as when i look at any of the text messages i have sent out they all have the from address as the old number.
Has anyone got an idea how to fix this without a hard reset??? :?:
Okay, for some reason sim manager is not in programs, so i had to run it manually by browsing the phone and going into the windows directory.
Can now edit the blasted thing.
Just got my new Orange M3100 (Tytn) and I'm having problems with trying to forward incoming calls to another number. I have to divert and cancel divert often during the the working day and could do with a short cut to the settings call forwarding page. I don't seem to be able to make one... Could anyone advise...
Also trying to do similar with Bluetooth settings as I swap my BTheadset between phones just as frequently. I have found a link on this site to a utility to do that but not had chance to try it yet...
Can I just make a shortcut to that as well ??
Apart from that it appears a excellent device, running Tomtom etc without any problems....
Thanks in advance Phil
All the ways I tried to create such a shortcut do not work, because it requires an USSD "call". I asked WM5NewMenu author to implement USSD handling, will see...
For now the best solution I've found is to assigh speed dial keys in the dialer to USSD sequencies to divert and cancel diverts. It's OK for a while because speed dial keys can be easily accessed with one hand only (green phone button, then arrow left or down).
EDIT: In case you don't know USSD sequences... You'd better consult your operator to be sure. For me:
Divert all calls: **21*number_to_divert_to#
Cancel divert of all calls: ##21#
There are also codes for conditional diverting, of course.
Hi Phil,
What Lurker0 has mentioned is a good idea. You can save those strings as a number in a contact and maybe assign a speed dial or voice tag to that contact for speed? I guess one contact to enable and another to disable. The commands Lurker0 mentions are standard over all networks.
I'm not sure if there are ways to send AT commands to the modem in the TyTN (M3100) but it is another possible way to do it if someone knows how, if not then it might be useful info to someone else.
The AT command you need to send is AT+CCFC=1,1,<number>,128,1,,, this is the number in local format (no +44) like 07968xxxxxx to enable and AT+CCFC=1,0 to disable.
Gavin.
Phonealarm may be a simpler solution as I think u can add a forward number within a profile so just switching profile from the Today screen (phonealarm skin) would do the trick...
www.pocketmax.net
I've not had any dealing with the ATM commands so to be honest I wouldn't know were to start. I've just tried to install Phone alarm in my Orange SVP
M3100 but after asking me if I need and extra language the software just locks up.. Soft restart then required....
I managed to find the directory that it was installed in, the setup prog is there but I can't find the executable file, I guess that it has not got that far !!!!
Any help please...Phil
I'd suggest to try USSD codes as the easiest and 100% working solution.
Tried the ussd numbers in the contacts list.... works very well both divert and cancel divert... Just need to setup the speed dial now, were is that manual !!
Thanks again.

Hi Phil,
Go into the phone skin (green button) > Menu > Speed Dial...
That's you...
Gav.
Speed Dial is also at "green phone button" then arrow left, or arrow down, or wheel down. So one hand operation is possible.
Many thanks to you both... Nice to find helpfull people on here... Phil

Phil,
I do the same and installed the O2Plus (and patch) software which tweaks the today screen and gives direct access to mutiple profiles for different forwarding options - works really slickly.
Check this forum for the .cab files
Hope that helps.

i tried putting the codes in a speed dial but Tytn unhelpfully said i had to enter the sequences in from the phone pad directly. all i did was put the **21*<no># in as a speed dial. did i miss something somewhere?
If you are rooted, start a shortcut to "Activities". Scroll down to "Phone", expand that, then scroll down to "Call forwarding". Select! Easy peasy.
So i have WM6 on my MDA and it worlds perfectly fine, my only problem is that if im on a call and i need to press number to go through a menu, it dosnt work. The number popup as if im pressing them, but i cant go through the menus, it dosnt work on any phone calls; not even my voicemail. I just want to be able to fix it so that when i press numbers during a call it actually sends the numbers.
Simple solution: go back to a shipped version!
The WM6 ROMs are all 'selfmade', so, you might experience some minor or major bugs ...

Are you installing the T-Mobile .cabs to your phone, like the network custimzations, mms, etc. if so, that may be your issue as it was mine before, so I had started manually inserting the internet server settings, and things like that, instead of installing the .cabs, and that solved my issue...
I posted details on another thread, I will find it and post link here for you.

I have been using verizon galaxy s5 on t-mobile for 2 months now. Lately I started noticing that when I initiate a call it loses all the bars, 4GLTE, 3G, H+, E all disappear. During the call touch tone DTMF is not recognized, cannot select menus or dial extensions. Also, no call waiting.
Tried upgrading to the latest 4.4.4 via Odin, did not change anything.
Anyone has this issue with g900v used on tmobile network?
PS: Using with my old tmobile galaxy s2 call/data works simultaneously. Bars do not disappear, and call waiting, DTMF also works.

Is the IMEI and Baseband still valid, and is not null?
Check your Baseband version with Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app (under FIRMWARE INFO section).
And also dial the secret code *#2263# and see what option is selected?
Thanks vndnguyen,
I can't find the imei under Settings>About phone
Baseband: G900VVRU1ANHA
Dialing the code *#2263# did not do anything. None of the secret codes seem to work, even *#06#.
If IMEI was the issue, would I still get signal and make/accept calls? I can make/accept calls. 4G LTE works fine.

1- Try to select WCDMA/GSM Mode or LTE/GSM Mode and see if any changes?
2- And also, is the IMEI still valid in the 'Phone INFO ★Samsung★' app? (under DEVICE ID section).
3- Launch the secret code 4636 (Testing Menu) > Device information > Set preferred network type, and see what option is selected?
Tried it and At A Lost

Hey vndnguyen sorry for lack of response from the one who started this post, but I myself am having the exact same problem, same phone, same situation, and exactly the same type of provider. I've tried your app and it did not work on my end. I'd very much appreciate it myself if you could further assist me. If possible. I'm willing to open up a separate post and go with u step by step to up date you if anything works.

1- You said that it loses all the signal bars when you make a call, right? But when it is in idle state (no call), does it receive a good signal?
2- Can you access to the Internet using E/3G/H+/4G/LTE?
3- Open dialer, enter *#2263# and capture the screenshot.
4- Then press Menu button > Key Input > enter Q0 > tap OK > wait... until it shows MAIN MENU > select DEBUG SCREEN > NAS INFORMATION > MM INFORMATION and capture screenshot.
Please post 2 screenshots above.

Sorry I am a bit lost on how to reach that MM INFORMATION. Also, I have 4G LTE while no call is made yes. I can access internet perfectly. Here is that pic of that screen and I tried calling that number. No answer, just so you know.

The correct code is *#2263#, not *#2263##.
However the secret codes may not work on Verizon phone. If you have root, you can use my app to launch the secret code:
open Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Secret Codes' > tap on 2263 and select 'Launch 0'.
Root it ?
Alright, well I have to root first? Because I've tried to enter *#2263# and nothing happen as well. So, root it then try this?

It's up to you. In fact I want to check for the network error cause and call reject cause (if any).
These info can be obtained using secret codes above.
It is weird that you can received signal from the mobile network, can connect to the Internet using mobile data connection, but can not get a call.
I get Calls

It's not that I can't get a call it's just that when I initiate a call the phone just starts acting like a Verizon phone (thinking it's a CDMA) phone I assume and drops everything. just as the user mazyland explained. I'm using your app and nothing is happening
So you still can make a call? You can talk with the other side? Or the call just droped and no conversation at al?
Sorry I cannot realize the problem.
Regarding secret code *#2262#, as I have said, due to Samsung (or Verizon) security policy, you cannot launch this code on Verizon phone without root.
If you have root, use my app, select secret code 2263 and select 'Launch 0'.
Call Connects
Yes. Connects all the way through and the person can hear me on the other side. Added a picture of what my screen looks like while making a call. Added one where it just drops all the bars and for aome odd reason this time the bars stayed but data still disappeared, first time that happened. Also, I'll root my device as soon as possible and let tou know whats up. Any of suggestions till then?

Alright so i tried making a three way call and it seemed that the phone loses all signal strength during the firat initial call. Preventng me from be able to receive or call anyone else. Its as if im tethered to the one call only. I tried making a call real fast by adding a second caller but it just said something like "no sim error". I had no data and signal. Did i explain that well?
Honestly I don't know why this happens, very weird.
The only cause I can guess is that maybe the firmware error?
Hello all,
I have a Verizon Galaxy S5 on TING on the GSM network. It's rooted with Safe Strap installed.
My one and only problem right now is that I cannot edit the button #1 speed dial from *86 to anything else. It is interfering with my voicemail notifications.
I can add my own number to #2 and speed dial into and access voicemail just fine. I can go into the settings, edit #1 speed dial, change the *86 to whatever, and it says the change has been saved...but it isn't. It remains *86.
Any ideas on how I can edit this sucker? lol I have root, so I could crawl deep into a system file and edit it if need be.
Thanks in advance
I've been trying to figure this out too
i have an unlocked verizon s5 with simple mobile service
if i put in a verizon or tmobile sim card in, im able to edit the voicemail number and it saves, but when i stick my simple mobile sim in the phone it goes back to *86 (which is not simple mobiles vm number), it says it changed and saves but doesnt as the OP described
I tried looking through some files to see if its hard coded somewhere but was unable to find it
any help on this topic would be much appreciated
No one has any ideas or suggestions?
There must be some hack that can be done?
Update
I got my vmail number changed. I'm not sure how but it saved. All I really did was install Google voice then saved that as my voicemail service. I then dialed I think it was *72 for call forwarding then disabled it with *73 I then tried to switch back to my carrier vmail and it just hung on some loading icon. I forced closed opened settings again and my carrier vmail was selected. I tried going back to Google voice and if said failed forwarding. I then tried again. Same error. I then went and tried to change the voicemail number to a contact named voicemail with my number and sure enough it stuck even after a reboot and holding 1 on the dial pad now calls my voicemail instead of *86
I have the same problem. I tried to change it to T-Mobile's 123 to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Interesting. Congrats on getting lucky. I'll have to try this and mess around a bit this weekend if I have time.
I have the same issue.... I read somewhere you have to update to 5.1, it's just bug of the system. Maybe I am wrong, but anyway somewhere in files it should keep this *86 number.....
BUT when I put inactive sim-card from T-Mobile, I COULD change the number and COULD saved it, when switch again to Simple Mobile(my carrier), the problem came back... again *86
You will need to change in the Phone menu settings for Voicemail, not the voicemail contact. Go to the Phone screen, select menu and then Settings, go to Voicemail settings and update the Voicemail number to be *86,XXXXX# where XXXXX represents your VM password and Save.
