Ram management fixed?
Using Aterminator_1.6.Dev rom for my G920F Samsung s6. (android 6.0.1) Its so fast..flawless speed changing apps. Root and everything..only thing is that the battery drain quiet fast while using the phone..

i am still waiting for a good costum rom with better battery life . The full version of android 6.0 is rumourd to be released it April or March
its better now but we still have to wait for the final version to find out
I understand! The aTerminator rom is pretty stable tho..cant wait for stable release! :victory:
The thing with me is, that phone is faaaast, very fast, but battery drains no matter I use it or nor. I did manage to use over 4 and a half hours of SOT, which is extraordinary, considering the fact, that I barely managed 3 and half on 5.1.1. I am using Masik Marshmallow 1.1
3hr sot for me
around 2.5 Hours screen on time for me
Always 5h sot for me... on Lollipop.

Wuuuauu
Mm .settings please
And what about RAM? On Lollipop is terrible, starting from the fact it kills your music app if you turn the screen off and wifi is off as well.
Also interested to know if MM fixes the ram issues found on the S6.
lost overnight only one percent in the standby

This thread is for battery life discussion of android 6 Marshmallow.
I took the plunge recently and installed cm13 nightly on my phone after a couple of days with sultan's cm13 ROM. One notice that the android team really got the battery optimisations right this time especially when coming from android 5.1. The cell standby and android system bug is now gone and the phone can now be in standby for a long time. My usage pattern is browsing, reading in Adobe reader, listening to mucisc with bluetooth headphones, facebook, wassup, some youtube videos, sms and few calls. I play farm heros sometimes but I don't play graphical intensive games.
Here are 2 screenshots of my phone. It was charged to 100% at 8:00am on 30/11/2015 and it still has 41% left as at 10:00am 02/12/2015 Granted I have only used it on wifi and I configured wifi to automatically disable 5 minutes after the screen is off.
You can post you battery life too.

If a moderator deem it fit, he/she can close the thread but I felt it will be nice to make a dedicated thread for Marshmallow instead of looking through a big thread to get the relevant information needed for a particular android version.

yes.
It still sucks on mobile data. Nothing changed from Lollipop in regards of mobile data battery drain and i wish google could do something about it.
That's it! It's still on LP niveau
i had around 2 hours of screen on time and less than a day's battery life. The MMS also didn't work with WiFi connected, so I switched back to CM12.
I finally charged the phone today but not before I took a screenshot. My usage is not heavy at all so for heavy users, I guess the SOT will be longer but the total number of hours the phone was on will be lower. My usage did not change form that of 5.1 but I can definitely see a great change in standby time.
Still doesn't beat out KitKat in terms of heavy usage IMO.
The performance(yield) of the battery essuperior to android 5.1. The cycle of load lasts approximately two hours more of screen.

Try Omniron Herna build, it does wonders on my phone regarding battery usage

6.0 has the same battery life as 5.x for me. about 4-5h SoT.
KitKat and early 5.0 builds were clearly better with 8h SoT
Currently running Sultan's ROM CM13:
My battery life has hugely improved when I'm not touching the phone, no one app is draining way to much battery while not in the foreground.
There is one problem some people including me have been experiencing which is that Wi-Fi doesn't switch of properly and drains the battery, the only solution I found was to reboot the device after switching it off.
Not sure if this is a CM problem or the specific rom but not AOSP.
But apart from that battery life is good.
On sultan CM 13 CAF
Getting 4-5 hrs of SOT
Still waiting on a fix for mobile radio active. Had to go back to KitKat after a year on 5.x and a week or so on cm13. The difference in battery is staggering. Here's hoping Google actually finds a solution for the drain, otherwise I'm gonna have to stick to KitKat until I get a new phone.
I dont worry much abt battery charge ..currently on CM13.. dont see much of difference ... expect charge to last for 1 day.. connect to charging when home
Tech guys suggest me best battery rom for OPO don't fun with me by saying cm11s 44s. Almost 1 year stick to cm11 I need some latest android version in my device,
I'm new to xda
Thanks in advance!
Just stole myself this glorious phone yesterday (not really.. got a smokin deal) after 3 years and a month on a Nexus 4 that was left stock the entire time. My OPO is already rooted/unlocked so I'm trying to test out and find the best rom for battery life as both of the cm lollipop and marshmallow roms I've tried are about equal in terms of buttery-ness and just stick with that rom indefinitely.
Is general consensus that cm11 kit kat is far superior to the later cm roms in terms of battery life? Which exact rom would you choose as the last rom you flash onto your OPO ever?

Hi all
I noticed that the battery runs out quickly.
It holds only 12 hours in normal use.
While I was at 48 hours with my Huawei mate 8
Is there a solution to this problem?
I have attached the phone version if it can help.
Wait bro, your firmware version is outdated, latest Lollipop firmware is 2.20.40.184, but yours is still running 2.20.40.90, update your firmware first then compare your battery stats from your previous firmware version.
How long is your SoT(Screen on Time)? Well, on a daily usage my Zenfone 2 lasts for up to 6hrs SoT(with wifi browsing, some gaming, 2g/3g texting including standby for almost 12hrs as well) so i think your experiencing average for this kind of handset.
Also note that you've posted on a wrong section, this thread should be posted on the "Q&A, Help, Troubleshooting section".
This phone generally has **** battery life for majority of people, there are every few people who see any decent battery life (like above). There are no solutions for good battery life for this phone.

I wouldn't recommend somebody (even less a new XDA user) to flash a beta firmware. Only the user itself should decide if he /she really wants to try beta software.

Comparing this phone's battery to a Huawei battery is like comparing a Prius to a Tesla. I can go 3 days on my Huawei Ascend Mate 2 but it's a 4000mAh battery and a Snapdragon chip compared to a 3000mAh battery and an Intel chip. The ZF2 battery will never get better unfortunately
I was getting some serious battery drainage on stock rom - I upgraded to the CM13 ROM with Android 6.0.1 - Set it on Root and installed Greenify + Xposed Framework - Smart Booster - Battery Doctor - Configured them all and keep my brightness on low when in doors and automatic when outside. My battery seems to be holding much better now. I haven't used that Stock rom Beta release of 6.0.1 yet so I'm not sure if that'll help. Good luck!
P.S - I only installed the mini version of GApps.

Check for the running apps and disable those that are not of use to you.. There are apps that run in the background, just run those that you think you will be using always.

Disable touch gestures, the ones that let's you double tap to wake it up, I disabled mine and during the night, with wifi on, it only used 1% battery.
Also, disabling LED notifications would help.
To replace the double tap to lock screen I use Greenify's widget, need to find a way to let me wake it up by volume buttons too.
Any other battery saving tips would be great.

But still, that's very good. I probably won't get this low because I have crappy reception at home, but I'll check it anyway.
zenfone 2 is best for performance lag free most of the time .....but battery life sucks.... and about that ferrari and prius thing... my friends sony xperia z series especialy z ultra has awesome battery life it is also quad core processor phone ...it is also a beast phone ...but there stamina mode saves a lot of battery ... 8 to 10 hr SOT is normal for z ultra..... so clearly power managment is very poor for zenfone 2. i am using marshmellow cm 13 .. greenify... .. overnight drop is 3 to 4 %... but as soon as i start using it battery starts to drain quickly..... i have searched whole xda forum.. but everybody is talking about wakelocks, thats fine but during actual use also it is consuming a lot of battery....i am tired of searching

Yes, even offlate couple of weeks ago, i rooted my moto x play and flashed LineageOS N 7.1.1. But the battery drain is so fast and it makes you feel you just have a 1200mah battery!!! (the truth is mine has 3630 mah gigantic battery).
BTW, somebody suggested to have Greenify, and this improved a little. Not fully satisfied with its performance though. My battery charge is not even lasting a full day!!!
Any suggestions guyz.

I have never updated my phone since i first got it. Most of my previous android phones have had battery issues once i updated them. I was curious how anyone with the same phones battery life compares with the latest update? I have the exynos model.
You should update mate
Battery Life, Performance everything is stellar on oreo/nougat
Get 7/8 hrs battery life out off my own handheld
Pretty strong benchmark as well
The other drawback with marshmallow is they've stopped development on it so feature amd efficiency-wise you're also limited

Here's my daily usage when switching to Extended UI Rom (11 hours and 1 minute on 8% at the present moment)
I just think EU Rom and stock Rom is not optimized right, even without all the bloatware.
I own a Mi Max 3 and the battery drain also happens when switching to Android 10 Stock Miui and EU Rom also so... even though the battery is larger, the drain is more noticable.. even comparing to the 11.18 Xiaomi EU Pie + Ressurected kernel and other custom roms.... So the battery drain problem is not a just a Mi 9T/K20 problem.

ExtendedUI. It's super stable and quick. Fingerprint reader works well for me on it.
The default one.. I don't feel like flashing and all that Jazz. The stock rom works pretty well, so I may as well leave it alone.
xiaomi.eu - because I like MIUI, but I don't like some of the limitations in the global version
