I spent a hour with support on enabling Wi-Fi calling. I set it all up but all I get is a star next to my Wi-Fi signal and no ATT-wifi calling icon in the left top notification area. Any ideas?
At&t is going to call me back Wednesday as I said i would troubleshoot it further. I have reset network settings, resetup Wi-Fi calling and reset my phone

At&t support WiFi calling only if your signal is lower then two bars. If you have plus ( star) sign next to your WiFi that mean your WiFi calling is working. To check this turn airplane mode and connect to WiFi and try to make call. There is no WiFi icon on left side at all.

I will give it a try. I Usually only have one bar. I took my note 5 back because it wouldn't work with my microcell I fought with them for 5 months about it I finally took it back .

Airplane mode disables all radios. That's not possible
Yes it IS possible, after setting airplane mode to ON, go up and turn the WiFi back to ON.

I didn't personally have any issues... although it would not activate for the first few hours I had my phone. But I had never used wifi calling before, and why i didn't think of your method of testing it, I don't know. But thanks for the advice.
If I keep the WiFi calling enabled, will it reduce my battery life? By keeping a constant connection or something? I guess I have more than 2 bars for most part of my home.

I can't imagine that it would. Unless you normally turn WiFi off when your not using it. WiFi calling will automatically toggle wifi on and search for a signal. If you just leave wifi on all the time, I can't imagine the wifi calling portion changing you battery life any.

Not just for testing. That method (turn on Airplane Mode, then re-enable WiFi) can be used to force WiFi-calling (instead of using your voice minutes) even if you have a strong connection to your mobile network.
I was having this same issue and by switching to the Sim card that came in the box rather than my old one fixed the problem for me.

Anyone can help me how to enable on this phone ?
Anyone guys?
If supported by your Network, you can enable it.
Go to mobile network settings and enable "Enhanced 4G LTE services". Below screenshot might help.

Thank you! I don't see this option in my phone. So that means that my network doesn't support it ?

Most probably your network does not support VoLTE. I will confirm this once I get non VoLTE network sim.

I am having the same issue. I tried this and still doesn't show.
Anything else I can try.
My issues is that the phone connects to the carrier network . I can send/receive text messages and I can use data, but I cannot make or receive calls.
I contacted the carrier and they suggested I enable VoLTE but I do not have that option in any settings.
I'm on latest ROS MIUI and while playing game of streaming YouTube if I get a call my Data is disabled. Please help. Thanks

Your explanation is not clear. It looks like some words are arranged randomly, to form a sentence. Try being more clearer. Otherwise no one will be able to help you.

Okay I'll explain you the situation.
I play clash of clans and it works on internet connection. Yesterday I was playing it and my mom called on my phone. I didn't pick I just pushed up the call notification. I started getting weak signal message in game and my connection was lost.
After that I received a call again then I put call on speaker and turn on Data to use WhatsApp. When I send message it doesn't go. I think my internet connection stops when call is going on. Is it clear now? Sorry my Ingles is bad.

Yes it's lot more clear now. And about your issue, could it be a solution to use the "data during calls" toggle under your sim settings? Honestly, I don't know much about it, as I never have faced the scenario you just described. Anyway, if this doesn't help, I hope someone with a better idea will answer you. Good luck!

It is normal, you are playing games in 4g/LTE mode but when you got a call your sim mode needs to switch to 3g mode. That's the reason you got a slower internet connection while there is calling. The VoLTE mode is what you need, for you to use data connection while you are talking to someone in a call, but i think you sim card doesn't support VoLTE mode. Try to research about your sim card if it's VoLTE capable. Here in the philippines there is no VoLTE capable sim. I hope this helps. Thanks.

Yes bro my sim is volte supported. Before I flashed cr 6.0 this never happened. But in cr 6.0 I started getting this problem. Even after switching to ROS MIUI it's there.

Do you have the volte icon on status bar? Maybe you network preference (GSM/WCDMA/LTE) is wrong, trying to use 2G/3G if available, instead 4G. Try to switch to "LTE only" and check if you can make call.

Not enough, you need to have volte (4G voice) activated on your sim card too!
I tried lte mode but can't use data while in call.
If in call the connection mode change from LTE/4G to H/3G or 2G, you don't have volte. Try to call somebody, and check the status bar network icon. Only 4G with volte able to have call and data same time.
I recently get volte working on my phone (after sending a "I want volte" mail to service provider).
This depend on service provider, some activating volte only for "officially supported" phones (my case), some automatically for all, and some have 4G network only for data and for voice using only the "old" 3G/2G.

Oh bro my sim card is already volte supported but still I wasn't getting volte. I fixed it by flashing 10.3.6 firmware in ofox. Now my volte is back.
So I know Wi-Fi Calling helps if you have little to no reception on a place, so you can use the Wi-Fi to receive and make calls...
But I live in a city where there's good 4G signal all around (even in the metro); so my question is: Is there any point on turning it on?
I'm just curious because it feels like it drains the battery of my Pixel 4 when I'm at home with Wi-Fi calling turned on (could be a placebo effect)
Anyone who uses Wi-Fi calling who can give an input on this will be greatly appreciated!

I too live in the city where my T-Mobile signal is pretty good in most places. I set WiFi calling option to "cellular as a priority" and if there is no cell service and there is WiFi connection, then phone would use WiFi calling ability.

You have that?? My provider doesn't even give me that option; it will always use Wi-Fi calling whenever I'm connected to any Wi-Fi and then Cellular when I'm not.
(EE, please provide your customer more options lol)
Thanks anyway!

Yes, T-Mobile in the US has few features that work on many popular brands of unlocked models. For example each mobile operator sells their own versions of their branded phones but not many of these operators would allow unlocked phones to take advantage of the features(wifi calling, VoLTE, video calling...)
