Just got my 950XL and it is all set and working under T-Mobile for voice and LTE data. I have two things left to work. The most important being basic MMS. I have entered all the T-Mobile settings on their website at support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2090 and data started up however the MMS or group texting isn't working? I have standard texting working but if I try attaching a picture it fails to transmit and if I receive a MMS picture it doesn't download it. Any help would be appreciated.
The other issue I need to setup next is to get visual voicemail. I read that YouMail and ISeeVM works well for the 950XL.
I just got my 950XL and I didn't have to any additional setup. The phone has a t-mobile setting that uploaded automatically and even though it shows no MMS setting my MMS still works. Also for visual voicemail, I just had to toggle the switch and it took a few seconds but it got configured on its own I believe. I may not fully understand visual voicemail but I get my list of vm messages and I don't have to dial any number or press any numbers, i just click and I can hear them.
VVM works, MMS required APN tweak for me

I had to enter the MMS settings for a general Windows phone from the T-Mobile website, and MMS just started working for me. I can post my settings if you're still stuck?
VVM is fixed, .218 for sure, and the other "release preview" build before that, MS release this around Feb.

How do I setup text messaging on my jasjar? I have a plan with text messaging, but I don't know what to do to send and receive with jasjar. I know I have been sent messages, but I get no notification. Help will be appreciated.
ok now
Called T-Mobile tech support. In messaging you have to
Menu - find text message voice dial option then Get Settings to let it find it from the network.
But then it seems there is something they have to do on their end, because it didn't work until the tech support fellow changed something on his end.
anyhow, working now
I've been trying to use google voice for my N1 and have it send me my voicemails as emails/sms messages. Whenever I do the setup it tells me that they couldn't update my fowarding and to contact my carrier. Well obivously AT&T is NOT going to help me if I call. Anyone here have the same issue with AT&T? Anyone know what settings need to be changed so that this funciton works properly?
I have att and I'm getting the voice mail as both text and email. I didn't do anything different from how I had it configured previously.
I have TMo, and I had to setup my forwards automatically. Couldn't use google voice to do it. Hope that helps.
I'm on t-mo and google voice setup gives me an error when setting up voicemail, i manually did it following the instructions on the website and my voicemails forward to GV, but I was wondering, when the setup works properly from the phone, does the voicemail button in the phone app call into your google voicemail or your carrier voicemail? the way i have it now it calls my carrier voicemail.
mine did the setup automatically with att. att is still going to help you, they want your money, threaten to switch to tmobile, like half the people who baught this phone if they don't.
I logged on to the google.com/voice and it gave me some numbers to type in for a manual setup works like a charm now!
havent gotten my n1 yet so excuse the question on this
tmo has me on flexpay, calling later to see about migrating to post but to be honest, credit sucks so i dont see it happening.
the problem with flexpay is, they do not allow call forwarding.
so if i am using the google voice app/dialer, (have fav5, was going to setup the google voice as one for calling to it to not use minutes)
if i setup google voice to forward to my cell, give my google voice number out from now on and have people update my phone number to gvoice. could i just entirely bypass the need to use call forwarding this way
correct me if im wrong, but the google voice app will take over as my dialer, contacts, etc. so anytime i make a call, it will go through gvoice and anyone with callerid would see my gvoice number. so unless i give my tmo number out or someone doesnt update my number, i would never have a call come in on my tmo number except gvoice forwarded calls..... right?
also this would allow me to drop my unlimited text messaging as well since txt msgs would all go through gvoice instead of tmo? (i read this one elsewhere and just want to confirm that would work)
someone asked if the button in the phone app works and dials google. Mine does.
I'm ATT, set up from google voice online. works well
under call settings> voice mail service I see two options, carrier, and google.
in voicemail settings it shows google local phone number, and under that a sign out option for my gmail addy
I don't think google voice saves you money yet... it still uses minutes, sms and data. I think the idea is that in the "future" we will only need data plans.

It doesn't use your plan SMSes, I don't think. All you have to use is data. GV SMS is free to US numbers.
well i called tmobile and in changing from flex to post pay, lost my fav5, lost my 5.99 internet. but thanks to freelancersunion.org i got 10%/month discount
50 extra whenever minutes, internet on 2 lines (was only 5.99 on 1 line before) and now i'm on post pay with call forwarding, YAY... paying 7$ more than i was
just need my nexus one now :/

Go to Google.com/voice and go to settings and click activate under your phone number. It will then have you dial a numb
er on your phone that will manually set the voicemail forward. I'm on Att and this method works for me. I could not get it to auto setup either BTW...
Hi everyone. I purchased a sanyo incognito phone, successfully activated it and followed a guide i found here on how to pfash evo to Boost Mobile. I followed all steps without any problem. Did a copy o all correct nv items, copy of nam from donor phone to evo. I successfully zeroed all location (flashed to RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.29.651.5_Radio_2.15.00.09.01_NV_1.77_CNV_release_150224_signed and then unrevoked3), did restart and found at ##786# all zeroes in mein and esn. Then successfully write donor MEID (esn was generated correctly and writed by itself). Then i put HA and AAA passwords into the phone.
What i've got now - is fully working internet with 3g (i'm not sure, but speed sems to be pretty fast), however voice and text messaging are not working. Text messaging showing error code 97 class 2, and when I'm trying to call someone i got a srange message from operator (i believe from sprint) - i attached it.
The only thing happen strange to me - when i tried to write all aaa and ha passwords with 0 profile in QPST Service Programming andter flashing it whowes me an error something like ESN has been changed or something.. However i found this on google and somebody wrote that i shouldn't worry about that - all information was written successfully.
In settings about the phone i see next information:
MEID: donors meid
Phone number: correct phone number as on the donor
IMSI: some numbers?
current username: boost mobile user name
prl 60683'baseband 2.15.00.01.01
What am I doing wrong? Any help would be gratefully appreciated! I just don't know what to do - i didn't find similar problem on the whole internet! Maybe i was looking wrong?
Thanks for everyone in advance.
and here what I've got in QXDM after writing correct meid into the EVO - check attached picture
should DIAG TX items be zeroes?

Have you done a factory reset, and re-input the ha aaa passwords. And all other info in service programming? Had to do it with two phones cause i counldnt receive incoming calls or texts. After a factory reset. Then the fresh write, all worked. I cancelled the ota but let it kick in after final reboot. Might be worth a try.

If Sprint is saying Error Code 16 Switch number whatever and is calling a representative. Your EVO has been flagged. You'll need to let the call go thru answer their identity questions about your Boost account and they will clear it. I just did it 2 days ago. NOTHING else will clear the code 16, ONLY a Sprint Security Specialist can clear it. After they reset your Boost account the voice will work.
Hooray! I did it! It works now! Thank you everyone, and especially Dean_L. Next time when i called any number the system transfered to a representative who asked me a few questions about my account and then reset it for me. Now the phone calling is working. However text message still not working. Trying to resolve that problem now. Thanks again
Fixed problem with text messaging by calling customer service. They asked me what is the phone I'm using and i said Incognito - lie, but it worked!
The only thing left - is the MMS messages. I can recieve them, but can't send! Running miui latest rom. I changed MMS apn http://mm.myboostmobile.com (through voice dialer "Open A P N"), but no luck. Is any suggestions on this? Thanks.
Finally i found the fix. It's already been here, but i will post it again. The way to send MMS is to install Go SMS Pro from the market (it's free) and change in settings different mmsc address. The "Open A P N" method is not working. Or i installed SexynSmooth rom, which is sense rom and change mmsc by dialing ##DATA# - and it worked great for me. ANd exen long text messages works too (on miui they not working, unless you install gosmspro and change settings in it to manually partition them).
I love MIUI rom - so far it's the best one, but i don't want to use those forsk like installing different apps and not gonna be able to send long text messages. Hope they will change it in future versions and will app manual mmsc to their application.
Hi There,
I have rooted verizon S5 with GV.
Just switched to use Hangout instead of GV for sms. SMSs are working fine, however, MMSs are not working. I can send, but can't receive. I was hoping to change APN, however, when I change APN in hangout, it is not get saved and if I don't have an option to change APN in the phone settings.
Please advise...
Has anyone had any issues with missing incoming calls on their 6P? I have missed 3 calls (while I was connected to WIFI) which I found out about because I got a voicemail but my phone never rang. The people that called said my phone rings for about 25 seconds before going to voice mail. Do the APN settings have anything to do with calls or just messages? Any other ideas?
you messed with your APN settings? i've done that on my '13 X. if you selected to only be on LTE vs. CDMA + LTE, you're going to miss calls.

I have my preferred network type set to Global. Should I change it To LTE/CDMA?
APN is set to VZWINTERNET. I didn't change any of the settings within that APN.
The weird thing is, some calls do come through but not all of them.
oh i thought you went in to the hidden menu.

I am having the exact same issue and am looking for any solutions. I don't get the notification in the bar and if I miss that the text is there I miss the voicemail. Since I use my cell for work, this is an issue.

It is the result of you having visual voice mail and not having the visual voice mail app. You need to turn off visual voice mail in your verizon account and use basic voice mail or find the verizon visual voice mail app.

You have basic visual voicemail enabled. It comes automatically with a Verizon HD voice/advanced calling package that enables VOLTE. Until a visual voicemail app is released for this phone from Verizon you will have to use google voice for voicemail through hangouts. Works great. or you can call Verizon and see if they can downgrade you to the normal (call in) voicemail you were used to but not sure if it is possible. i have heard mixed reviews as to whether they can do that.

Oh that's annoying that Visual Voice Mail is bundled with Advanced Calling 1.0! Just tested it by removed Advanced Calling 1.0 and I guess the normal voicemail notification now.
I guess I rather deal with the annoying text messages than to lose the ability to simultaneously use voice and data.

I would also appreciate a cheat note on how to do disable Visual Voicemail. Hell, with this new Dialer, I can't even figure out how to get into the dialer settings to update the *86 voicemail number with my pin, and I've been an Android user since Froyo, so Marshmellow has kicked my but!
But back to my most serious concern, I need Advanced Calling, so if it is kills two birds with one stone, I'd be happy to have standard voicemail since that's all I ever used. Then Verizon and Google will hopefully sort out how to enable Visual Voicemail *and* Advanced Calling too. But for now, please share any secret menus previously mentioned so I can disable Visual Voicemail! :fingers-crossed:
Update #2: Turns out Verizon's Visual Voicemail and Advanced Calling are not related, but I did learn that Advanced Calling also enables HD Voice. It turns out that the Advanced Calling feature isn't enabled on a NEXUS 6p when activated via the nano sim on Verizon. Calling the support line is the only alternative to correct this. After a restarting, Verizon called me back, and I had Data while on the phone.
I'm going to mess around with different Visual Voicemail options before switching back to Basic Voicemail, and I'll update again if I find something.
The Visual Voicemail issues is weird. First, I get indecipherable text messages. Then when I get another phone call after a voicemail, it pops up as my Google Now Card notification for drive time to work, and there is no way to answer the call! I had to reboot to clear that.
Thanks,
Ed Janx
Update: So I downloaded the Verizon Mobile App which has the ability to change your features, including Voice Mail options, but it wouldn't let me select Basic Voice Mail, and instructed me to call *611 . No time for that now, but wanted to provide a quick update.

I found it while working out my voice mail junk here. Open the dialer, in the "search contacts & places" search window at top, press the three dots, select Settings, Calls, Voicemail. Then you can update the voicemail number (not sure about the PIN function though). This has been bugging me as well, only was getting the weird SMS messages. Was able to select basic voicemail using the My Verizon App though (was able to select all of the 3 options for voicemail with the My Verizon app too). So waiting till they update their apps to 6.0 and hope they work then.

I ended up opening a ticket with tier 2 tech support. (thats who they addressed themselves as). First day i didn't think advanced calling worked but i missed that i wasn't connected to LTE but once i did get LTE it worked my bad.... But the voicemail they couldn't figure out. after three days of no call back. I got someone else from tier 2 support and he got my voicemail to work while I was calling from the 6p. finally happy to have regular voicemail notifications and not those cryptic sms messages

I switched to the Google Voice Visual Voicemail and am very happy. Still, I did call Verizon tech and instruct them to switch me back to basic voice mail. Now I can at least I can switch the phone VM back to Verizon, listen to saved messages, then switch back to the Google Voice. Still, I really wish Verizon would just update their Visual Voicemail app to work with the Nexus 6p, as that way I could retrieve some of those 'precious memory voice mails' I've saved for years, then save them digitally.
