Dialer - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a massive delay when I press a number to call someone.
I try different apk but have the same problem.
Is anybody with the same issue ?
Thank you.

We are going to need more details.
Are you running stock ROM?
What version of the ROM are you running?
Are you rooted?
Are you using the default system dialer and having the issue?
What third party app dialers have you used?
When you say APK do you mean you replaced the stock APK or my question above?

No,I use the stock ROM,and the phone was never rooted.
I have this issue with the stock phone app, I try truedialer - phone and contacts and true phone dialer & contacts.
Apk I'm refer to a application from play store, sorry .
When I buy the phone in December,it comes with 6.0 version, and upgrade to 6.0.1 December version, one week ago to January patch.
It happens this thing from the first day when i buy the phone.
So is not a problem after upgrade. Maybe a factory reset should fix (I don't know),this problem
Thank you.

Galaxy S5 Play Store problems

Hello everyone. I recently bought an Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F). After I made the "first run set-up" , I went to Google Play to download all the apps I needed. And then Google Play suddenly stopped and an error poped out : "Google Play stopped working"..ok I tried again, after aproximatively 3 minutes the error shows up again and again..I know that Samsung has some problems with Google Play,so I tried some fixes found on the internet. I tried deleting all data, cache, and updates.. It worked.Looks like my phone has some "problems" with the new update (6.0.5) for Google Play Store. With the old one (5.x - sorry I can't remember the version),I have no problems. But,the other problem is that after a few minutes, the app updates itself to the last version. I even tried to make a factory reset, but the error still shows up (I tried to reset the phone from the settings and from the recovery boot). I don't have a problem using the old version of PLay store, but I also can't use an outdated version for too long. Is there any way to fix it? I'm trying all kind of fixes found on the internet for hours and I'm getting angry. Is there any way to fix it,or I can send it to warrany? (I'm afraid to send it to warranty because I know that all they do there is to reset my phone and I lose a lot of time waiting to make a freaking reset that I can make even myself).
I would have posted an image with the error, but this forum doesn't allow me to put links into my threads for "security reasons".
So please,if you can help me It would be awesome. Thank you again and sorry for my bad english.
I forgot to mention, phone model is SM-G900F with Android 5.0 (I can`t make update to 5.1,I dont know why.)
Try reflashing 5.0 stock firmware using Odin
Note: G900F does not have 5.1.1 yet

Well,I'm very dissapointed because I got my phone to some GSM Services, and most of they told me that this is a common issue for Samsung devices and you must be pretty lucky to not get into such errors with an Samsung phone. So yes,I will "maybe" try to flash the original firmware with Odin, but I don't think it will help. So anyway thank you for helping me,I will try to use this phone with this bulls*it error and maybe, maybe (which is quite impossible) Samsung will release an update that would solve this problem.
Whats your firmware build number?

Just to lighten you up, this problem is not "common" in Samsung devices. My family and relatives uses mostly Samsung phones and tablets and never did we have this problem, even on two Galaxy S5s (G900F and G900FD).
Flashing the stock firmware should help.
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Forums
Well,I reflashed the stock rom with Odin3.9 but this problem still occurs. If you are talking about Baseband version than this is it: G900FXXU1BOJ1
EDIT: After 2 months of trying to fix the problem,it still occurs.

Edge panel crashing after updating to Android 6.0.1

Hello to all,
I have an issue with my S6 edge after updating it to Android 6.0.1.
All is working fine except an edge (side) panel. When I slide it to people edge it's ok, but when sliding to app edge I get notification that "application edge screen was closed". Restart opens it again but still is crashing the same way.
Already contacted Samsung - had to factory reset. That didn't help. Told me to contact service for further repairs.
Already wiped device in recovery mode - didn't help.
Already changed firmware by Odin to BTU (I'm polish) - didn't help
Already changed firmaware to XEO again - didn't help
Already changed firmware using 4 files (pit too) XEO - didn't help.
Can anyone help to resolve this issue?
What ROM are you currently on? Are you rooted? Do you use Titanium Backup or similar?
I ask because I once had the exact same problem. I'd accidentally frozen "Apps Edge"
in Titanium?
Otherwise, see if there's an Edge update in Samsung Apps. Or try pushing another Apps Edge apk into your current setup?
I'm having the same issue - it only seems to be the apps edge panel that crashes it. If I remove all the apps from the panel then re-add them it's ok for a while, then later it crashes again. It was fine & I was using it all the time before the last software update!
Phone details:
Samsung S6 Edge SM-G925F
Android 6.0.1 Build MMB29K.G925FXXU3DPDP (not rooted/customised)

How difficult would it be to add a couple lines in your post letting everyone know your phone's exact model,
which custom rom you are currently using and whether or not you have xposed framework installed?
And any other specific details.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Play services can't be updated after reset phone

I am using the Hong Kong version unlocked M9+. After reset, I find I can't update the Play Services which causes problem for me to update any critical google apps.
Android version is 5.0.2
Sense version is 7.0
Software Number is 1.84.708.10
I am wondering if I need to reflash from stock rom or is there any other way to get this problem sorted?
Thanks.
I am using the Hong Kong version of HTC One ME Dual SIM, which has the same issue after resetting my phone. Luckily I have two of them so that I can check the latest version of Google Play Service and Google Play Store and download from apkmirror to update it manually. Sorry I am a new registered user so I cannot post the full link from APKMirror for your reference.
This is the version of Google Play Service I used to upgrade my phone after reset:
14-3-66-020408-213742215
This is for Google Play Store, seems it is required to update it after upgrading to Google Play Service. Otherwise the phone is not responding to any Play Store requests in my case.
12-3-19-all-0-pr-218276083
Of course you need to enable Installation of APK from unknown source in your security settings. I am not sure if the same method can apply to your case. I hope this will give you more insights in resolving your issue.

Thank you.
I tried with manual update Play Service, it fails. That's why I am thinking to refresh the ROM with stock one.
But not sure where to download the official ROM.
I am sorry to hear that you are not able to update manually. I also think that the built-in ROM of my phone is buggy, but couldn't find any custom ROM to try.

Anywhere I can find the stock ROM for my HTC bought in HK?
I remember it updated Android version once to 5.0.2. If I can find the original 4.4 version ROM I guess it would still work.

No custom rom so far... I also try to find in some chinese sites but no hope... This is really sad that no one has made any custom rom for this Mediatek device... What si the problem there..I am asking myself.. My old HTC one m7 has plenty custom roms...
Maybe the problem is that there is no CM version for this device.. Google is the problem with no buying this version of the flagship..
I only need the stock factory ROM, not custom ones.

Incoming call isn't coming in mi A1

My phone shows that it's switched off during incoming calls even though it's on. I am having a lot of problems because of this. I'm sure it's not sim issue and my friend (also mi A1 user) is having the same issue. anyone please help me. Thanks in advance
I have the same issue since the first update to PIE and there is no fix for that. I'm going to kick the phone, it's completely useless right now with this bug.
download and install the latest fastboot rom available
then the issue will go
I have had this problem since January, and I still could not find the solution, I tried to do everything and I could not solve it ...

Yes
i bought this phone for a friend who has all the latest updates and is facing this issue. She is missing important calls.
What is the best solution? Bear in mind I will have to help her remotely and this could be difficult if I am to guide her through flashing a custom rom.

Google Play Store partially in wrong language after update - PLEASE help!

Hello Everyone!
I'm hoping I can get some good advice on how to fix the issue that has come up.
I will try to be as detailed as I can in describing what has happened.
I started out with my Samsung S5 DUOS rooted on Android 4.4.2 but I had to update due to apps dropping support for 4.4.2.
Using Odin I installed Official Samsung 6.0.1 update for Android 6.0.1, after which I rooted the phone using the correct Chainfire Rooting package,
and after this I also installed the latest correct TWRP Recovery.
When starting up the phone everything was working fine except Google Services Framework and Play Store kept crashing constantly which I then solved by grabbing the APK's from another Samsung S5 running Android 6.0.1 and installed those on my phone. This fixed the crashing issue entirely and everything is now 100% stable and working just fine.
Which brings me to my problem: In the Play Store app it seems now that it is partially in English. I am running the phone set entirely to Swedish language otherwise. So most of the Play Store displays in Swedish, but certain things such as "Downloading" or "Install" or certain menu options of the app itself displays in English rather than Swedish. Also the app name is Play Store rather than "Play Butik" in Swedish. I thought that these APKs had all languages integrated in them and displayed the correct language depending on the language setting of the phone itself.
Any and all help to fix this so that I can have Play Store app run in Swedish would be appreciated very very much.
Kindest regards,
XDAFan.
P.S If I have posted this in the wrong place please move it to where it's supposed to go.
Might be a bug and ruled out with the next version of Playstore. I assume there are quite frequent updates, but performed in the background, like the Play Services updates.

That is an interesting theory! I went to APK Mirror and checked the versions of the APK's that I had pulled from the other (identical) phone and the Play Services APK was a match but the Playstore was outdated(!) so I pulled the latest compatible (Android 6.0+) version of that that I could find on APK Mirror and installed it and that fixed the problem!!
So BIG THANKS for thinking of this as a possible cause of my problem and the solution to it!
Kindest regards,
XDAFan.
