Why did we post this message in the general area and here to? The Mods would have moved the other one here.
Your device is unlocked, no need to worry about different carriers.

Like Ax said don't worry about carrier, but you should be concerned with your model of phone. You have a GT-i9500 which has different hardware than the GT-i9505 and our SGH-I337(M). So i'd stick to your forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2286
After googling for I9500XXUAMDK it looks like your phone's firmware is russian. So, your problem is the radio hardware for mobile networks do NOT match to the network standards the carriers in US and Canada use. Mostly it's a matter of used frequencies and maybe communication protocols which differ from Europe to America.
You CAN try to flash another firmware with different modem which match better to your country but this won't negate any hardware limitations. I suggest to check http://www.sammobile.com for a firmware matching to your country, or your carrier. But this is just a suggestion; I won't give any guarantee it will work.
Good luck.

Google how to connect an Android phone to WiFi.
Its as simple as connecting a PC to WiFi.
Hello there.
I'm sorry if I haven't used the search engine right but I couldn't find a thread similar or answering my question.
I bought my phone, the note 3 in the Netherlands. It is an unbranded phone(phn) as far as I know.
But I am living in belgium. And for some reason I can't get my 4g to work with the Base operator.
Or with any other operators. For some reason there is no LTE option available in the network settings.
Now I have been searching on Google and went to some stores and compared my csc and ap version to the note 3 working on lte on the same network in the stores. And I saw with every note 3 in the stores that the ap version was ap n9005xxuena7 and mine is n9005xxuena6.
How come my unbranded phone with csc n9005phnena2 is not getting the update that let's me use 4g?
At least that is what I think?
After previewing the post, I noticed I have to update my signature. ..
Your carrier probably hasn't enabled it on your line.
Ring them up

I doubt that. They informed me about 4g them selves and the Sim they gave me had a small picture of 4g(lte) and 3 dual carrier on it.
Have you tried a factory reset?
I had a similar problem with my btu uk device after flashing the Polish na6 official firmware. Very unreliable mobile data connectity and went to 4g very rarely.
I didn't factory reset but instead flashed a custom rom (also based on na6) which fixed the problem completely.
I'd suggest factory reset first to see if that helps.

I don't know about Base, but with Proximus, you really have to call the customer service to ask them to activate the 4g for you. Did you try that?

I have a cheap abo with Proximus and have 4G on my note 3.
I don't have to do a thing about it so you don't have to call them its already activated for every abo.
I don't think it is operator related. Because my Sim works on my mother's s4 perfect.
I guess it is the update that is necessary to activate 4g on unbranded phones.

I can't say what's wrong with BASE, maybe they haven't enabled 4G towers yet...I'm on XL from Proximus and I get LTE all over Vlaanderen.
Well, try to flash some of the Polish 4.4.2 available all over XDA. My Note was also bought from Belsimpel but never had any issues with 4g--->with the latest NB3 (OTA) there's no more 4G sign...it's LTE.

Kies Backup works just fine...
Not every provider has 4G enabled in every CSC version. I get this question about 12 times a day on the T-Mobile NL forums.
I had 4G on DBT with T-Mobile NL two months before the T-Mobile NL Branded and PHN versions had it.
Resetting won't make a difference. This needs to be toggled in the firmware itself by Samsung. On most other devices you can use the *#*#4636#*#* or *#2263# dialer code to manually force the network mode, but they disabled it on the Note 3.
Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viaero4gtoggle

Thank you. You confirmed what I assumed was the problem.
I already have tried viaero. All I get is a black screen. No selectable option or toggle button. Nothing but a black screen. So I have to wait for an update or put a custom rom on it?
And is it possible to backup app settings? Like I dont have to configure Yatse again and Xbmc?
I am a noob with flashing custom roms and rooting.
Thank you.
call Base , tell them to activate it . Mobile Viking uses the base network and they had to phone base to activate G4 for my number.
up till few weeks a go you neded to make a call for proximus aswell but that changed because of the promoting of 4G action that is running for 6 months

No need to flash a customROM. If another official ROM has 4G enabled for our provider, you could flash that over PHN. No rooting, no knox triggering, no warranty issues. The only issue you might run into is that nonsense people have recently been getting flashing over PHN with the filesize.
NA6 is the most recent firmware for PHN. Could you go check in the stores what CSC version the devices are using that do have 4G on your provider? To my knowledge NA7 is a provider-specific version limited to T-Mobile and daughter-companies.

Thank you... Again.
I have been searching on Google for people having the same problem. I found someone posting his csc version and for this guy is the 4g working with the Ota update he got.
His csc version was N9005OXXDMJ4.
I'm also going to the store tomorrow to look it up.

What does that mean? Can I flash a romanian official rom without losing my data and app settings??
Actually, that's XEF. France Unbranded. (It could also be romania, but XEF is more common. Also, they tend to sell XEF in most open stores here in the benelux.)

In theory, you shouldn't loose any data. You can always use Helium to make a backup. (KIES tends to hate the Note 3. Or life in general)

Or should I look that up ?
I am going to look that up no matter what but advise and how to is always welcome.
Thank you for the help everybody.
EDIT: it explains on the website it self how to flash. Thank you.
Gonna let know if it worked.
Hello guys! I just bought a phone (Galaxy S5 G900FD) and its parallel imported as international version. Ofcourse its brand new.
I went to 'about phone' and it clearly says Arab emirates. I bought numerous of phones before and this is kinda look strange since I've never seen like any phone actually says like 'Arab emirates' below 'about phone' section. So I typed things I don't understand as below, please tell me what are those?
It says

I'm base in New Zealand then do I need to get NZ rom to use a phone?
Use phone info app from playstore
U can find the CSC country there if u want to flash the most compatible firmeware
Unless n otherwise dont care about those info much bro
N it says your on kitkat 4.4.2
Update your device for lolipop if u want (u must revieve the OTA update)
Those are some buildnumbers from samsung @goufcustom
No u dont wanna flash the NZ rom
But Always flash the rom with original CSC code
For example mine it is BTU (UK n Ireland)
Find your original CSC code from phoneinfo app
It is not recommended but it is the best way
It's safe. Nothing to be afraid of.
I bought my S5 Duos in Dubai few days ago with the same info about UAE in the phone's about section.
I was given a Samsung galaxy note 3 32gb sm-n9005 (Orange France)
Problem is all the default apps are in French and the signal was rather quirky not really working on TNZ network (Telecom New Zealand)
Me being me decided to downgrade to 4.4.2 from 5.0 to put it on the Telecom (now Spark) network with all the correct settings and apps etc
This is what I have tried installing:
Model SM-N9005
Model name GALAXY Note 3 LTE
Country New Zealand
Version Android 4.4.2
Changelist 1955971
Build date Mon, 28 Jul 2014 12:56:29 +0000
Product code TNZ
PDA N9005XXUGNG1
CSC N9005TNZGNI2
It installs to approx 97% and fails on the hidden.img.ext4
I have tried using different pits to no avail just keeps failing
Any suggestions please ? I have read countless threads but can't figure this one out at all....

You think I'm stupid maybe but.... New Zeland (TNZ) never gonna work if your phone is branded to France (Orange). No? It's normal that ODIN give you error everytime.
*Steps to follow:
1. Download the correct firmware to Orange (FRANCE): HERE.
2. Unzip and flash it via ODIN.
3. Buy a unlock code by IMEI and unlock your device.
4. Every SIM should work now (your device is international).
5. Done.

Nah all sorted - It was a case of finding the correct pit file to match the firmware, the phone was already on a different provider here in NZ so once I got the right one with the hidden partition all went well....
Hi and thank you for your time.
I´ve performed an advanced wipe with TWRP without a back up (thought i had) so i´ve got no OS and now i just want my stock firmware back installed.
I found several stock roms in another web site with csc and pda codes and I don't know wich one i should install.
Also i don´t know what info is relevant to answer the questions i have made. What i do have is:
Model SM-J320M
FCC ID
SSN
Country it was made Argentina
CNC ID
IMEI
S/N
And that the phone it self is not related to any comunication company but my service provider is CLARO
ps. I´ve contacted samsung support and the answer was to take it to a support center but i need to learn if im gonna keep messing with my phone..besides i'm broke ha!
