Zuk Z1 OTA Updates from yog4pap1cg - Zuk Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I bought Zuk Z1 that comes with CyanogenOS version yog4pap1cg. There is a Cyanogen Preview watermark at bottom right of my screen and its annoying. Is it the official international version of Zuk Z1? It do have the back and menu capacitive buttons. I checked that others are using Xposed to remove the watermark but I do not want to root it.
I seems to unable to get the OTA updates even after manually clicking on the check for OTA updates. Do I need to do anything?
Thanks in advance.

I receive a OTA update but i don't how to update, help me. Build i receive is cm-ham-96c95ebf23-to-22a05d1581-signed

I got notifications, and updates from sony ?

Hello all developers, I have question, I worked the root on 4.4.2, and then returned with the latest 4.4.4, using Flash tool, add D6503_23.0.1.A.0.167_Vodafone DE. Will I receive notification of updates from Sony? When come Lolipop i got notification in Sony update center?
Thanks!
Yes but if your system is modified it will fail verifacation when you try updating
If you only have root on a stock rom and want to update to Lollipop later you just have to unroot then If u have a custom rom never do ota updates for android,do only sony app updates like walkman, gallery etc.
Thank developers . I checked, and my software is not root, when I go to update sony center, and got "Your device is up to date!" That is okay? I only tried to root I managed 4.4.2. but I decided to go back to 4.4.4, I did it over the flash tool. I should now get updates from Sony. If not root, mobile need give updates and notification from sony, i think... ? ...

What's this Update?

Hey guys,
I have the ZUK Z1 over a month now, and I always getting this update notification that I haven't done yet because i'm afraid it has bugs and stuff. Therefore i'm here asking you if anybody knows about this Update.
Anybody?
? anybody
It looks like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/general/update-zuk-cyanogen-t3325914
It's a big update that introduces March security fixes and also a gyroscope bug. Luckily, if you update, you'll receive another OTA with the fix for that.
what's your current build version now?
i want to go back to that version to see if that update gives me bad battery life

Okeyy
Thank you bro. I will download .ftf today and upgrade
I have not seen any improvements whatsoever in this release. The touchscreen keyboard is still a bit hit and miss. And the fingerprint hardware unavailable still appears.
The only good thing about this update is bringing the security patch level to 1 June. Which is outdated, other vendors are getting the 1 August one already.
Strange to be such a big update though 500MB+.
Things i noticed in this update (I'm using VN firmware):
- New homescreen which allows rotation.
- June security patch.
- The touch issue mentioned in this thread has been fixed.
- Better fingerprint recognition. Battery life seems to be improved (a bit).
- Gaming performance is a hit and miss. Dead Effect 2 and BIA3 run better, Asphalt 8 runs worse. Other games don't seem to change. (I'm not sure if A8 actually run worse or it's just me, can't get FPS without root ). Antutu score increased from 75k to 79k.
- I can't say anything about camera, as i barely use it.
Overall, unless you have nothing else to do, this update does not bring any game-changing improvements, and can be skipped. We're getting Nougat in months anyway.

Got a question guys. I got the US version, but I flashed a UK version firmware using flashtool from Androxyde to make the fingerprint scanner work. The phone is not rooted, bootloader is not unlocked. Am I getting the this update OTA or should I just flash it with flashtool again? I don’t mind to wait if OTA update is available, I just wanna make sure I’m gonna get it.

Yes, you can flash any ftf you want. I would go for a customized/generic ftf because they have less bloatware

Problems with notifications @ lockscreen and led

Hello,
i bought a brandnew X Compact. Its a fine phone, but i have problems with notifications.
I dont get notifications @LocKscreen, statusbar. I try to change settings, get the instructons from the phone. it dont works.
Notification led only blinks white by call or an sms. When i select whatsapp "popup always on" i sometimes get a notification @LocKscreen and statusbar. The led flashes only one times.
But i dont want to use pop-up.
Does anyone have the same problems? Phone is new, stock Android 7.0.
Greetings kullino

Yes, downgrade and backup your TA partition first.
Thanks. I will bckup the TA first. And read about how to flash the device. In the past flashes Z1 and Z3, but without TA Backup.
Last question, after downgrade to mm, OTA is possible to get back to nougat?
or will flashing stock nougatfrom UK better - i use the phone in germany.
Hi all,
downloaded customized DE 7.1.1. Flashed it, warrenty and so on are OK. But problems mit notification still the same. ich feel mad, will give it back to the dealer.

Nexus 6P - Oreo 991.4MB - notification - should i update?
Dear experts,
I would like to update Android Oreo which is appearing in my notification as Oreo 991.4MB. However I would not like to loose root after that.
What is the ideal way. Should i unroot do factory reset and then update oreo. Because How will i restore apps and data if phone is not rooted after update to Oreo?
Have been going through many threads but very confused.
Pls could somebody confirm that after update to Oreo Nexus6p can be rooted safely and that there are no major issues faced thereafter at least known?
Kindly reply.

Choose yourself. You can backup your apps with titanium backup app if you're are rooted. (download the app via playstore)
Oreo works fine, you can root with latest supersu or Magisk.
Good luck
