Good news! We now have the official CM12.1 ROM available for the Sony Xperia SP! What are your thoughts? Will you use it? I know I will be!

Kinda surprising, thinking the team may have abandoned XSP as it is a bit "dated".

we had it for maybe two months or even more, idk. I prefer stock because of fully working illumination bar, btw.

Read a few complaints that CM12 official is unstable...(??)
[Think it was scattered amongst the consolidated thread on UBL roms (temasek, aicp, etc) by theavengingtitan]

Been using it for a week now. No issues no lagging.. Fast.. Easy on battery.. All apps work. Its a keeper...(had just about given up on lollypop) not now

Dirty flashed OTA and now it lags. I guess every update should be a clean flash and that sucks, because all apps need to be settled up over and over again.

Well, mine lagged out after installation from option and my gapps is error. Then I flash the gapss but my root access was gone? So, how to root it? Because towel root can't do this. After all it works very smooth.

Are you all using stock cyanogen recovery or philz twrp ?

there is no superuser mode built-in in it..

Well no problems with me since I'll get cm14 custom ROMs are the best
Only reason why cos13 would be good is that it would give us better camera and proprietary information

Does COS 13 come with TrueCaller or Google dialer? I couldn't stand TrueCaller and the phone interface on COS 12.

Getting cm13 on z2

So I was searchin the web n I found this ROM I've tested but it stucks on the cm logo, so can anyone make some changes in to this ROM to get it working, I'm sure it's possible but only if someone who really loves his z2 make an effort n get it to work the link is below, hope someone would get it working. :fingers-crossed: :laugh:

I guess is same rom as the one posted here on XDA , is called UNOFFICIAL CM13 ROM , I didn't install because I see many people complains about bugs yet .

Without using, u should not say that.
Although it is beta... But it is pretty stable rom.

Have you tried as mentioned in other ROMs discussion? You need to enable VoLTE from stock ROM first. Make sure you get the HD symbol (??). Then you flash other custom ROMs. May be here also it is the same. Let us know how it goes.

I did flash stock ron from recovery then then flash flyme then after boot from setting I enabled volte but it was not working

It doesn't support VOLTE

you must install Android 6 based stock or flash zip from this https://pan.baidu.com/share/link?uk...包/ZUK Z2 底层&parentPath=/总ROM文件夹/YouLinw ROM作品 link for downgrading to Android 6. There you will also find zip which returns you to Android 7.
How to install this zip:
Make wipes, reboot, flash zip, reboot, flash ROM.

Known bugs

The rom is good I am using it since 4 days
The known issues are
1)Volte doesn't work at all
2) battery is draining fast
3)unable to sync my contacts from Google account
4)and the last issue is heating issue
Rather than these four issues everything works well the camera and everything. The major issue to me is Volte i humbly request the developers to to solve this issue.

Sony released the guide for making the aosp Oreo firmware. Why there isn't anybody here who tried to make one ?

I didn't mean to blame anybody.
I don't know how to make the ROM myself so I was asking if any developers tried to make it and it works and can be uploaded here.

Yeah, everybody waits for you to tell them If you don't know how to make ROM, learn it maybe...

Too soon to build a stable AOSP rom yet, they seem to work daily on it

For anyone wondering, here is the link to the binaries if you wanted to build your own ROM or maybe start playing with the kernel, but it's very early and they will likely update/improve this before official Sony ROMs for our device are available:

I built it a aosp oreo a few days ago and it's looking promising. The stability now seems good. Camera is not working for the moment. It runs quite smooth too

I've already made it. Not usable, so I didnt publish it. When it get into the launcher, it will auto reboot and then stuck in boot logo forever.

Hi! Can you relase it or have you relased it already. I would like to test it on my XC. I have looked for Oreo for the XC but with no luck. I saw that the XZ already has a relased build so can you or anyone do the same?

When I'm next in front of my PC I'll upload to this thread. It's not my work so I'm not going to create a separate thread for it.
There is one caveat and that is you will have to flash the vendor binary image to the /oem partition.
The nougat bootloader doesn't support this.
I guess sony will update the bootloader with their official oreo update.
Instead you have to convert their sparse image to ext format. Then dd the image onto the /oem partition.

Sony posts device tree sources that barely boot and don't produce stable roms. They rely on users to update the source trees for AOSP roms. These updates require a lot of work to sus out. You can't just "build" a good AOSP ROM without decent source.
The short answer to why one hasn't been posted is that Sony's AOSP program is a joke and it takes a lot more than most people would think given Sony's lip service to it.

Successfull buil AOSP Oreo
Tried to build AOSP Oreo r36 and was successful.
No bootloops
Anything seems to be working but
- the fingerprint sensor works partially (detects the fingerprint when initializing it but not after)
- there are some functionalities like noise cancelling and smart charge that are not available at the moment.
