Does someone know how to get modems as separate files for Moto E and how to flash them without a whole "(stock-)ROM" ?

DL official rom.
Extract NON-HLOS.bin & fsg.mbn to a directory.
Open shell (or CMD) and navigate to that directory.
Boot phone into bootloader.
Execute the following commands:
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
I just extract the Modem files from the RETUS 5.1 and RETEU 5.1.1 and uploaded them to my Mega Backup Folder.
I also added 2 .bat files to execute under windows, 1 is to boot the Device into bootloader (adb must be enabled on the phone) and the second to flash the 2 files. Also all needed adb files for windows are included, so no need to install android sdk.
Mega Backup Folder: https://mega.nz/#F!p9sxCaqR!Ja2kfKiL_0Hi3_SsKizjKw
Direct Link to Modem Subfolder: https://mega.nz/#F!J58BFYSI!igZi4wm_tH_DsXcA7Vugwg
I flashed the RETEU 5.1.1 Modem on my xt1524 (RETDE) about 1 week ago and no issues so far, modem working, wifi working.
I can also extract other Modem files if needed and add them to my Mega Backup Folder. The included .bat files work also with other modem files, just extract the 2 files from the original firmware files and copy them to the extracted folder.

okay.
What is shown as baseband-string after flashing it ?
Before flashing it was shown on my Moto E2 LTE (XT1524) baseband
old: M8916_200602.03.02.58.05R
new now: M8916_2020617.29.03.21.45R
all works fine.
I forget, i also included a readme.txt in the .zip file, in it are the modem version and fsg version also the version of the firmware where i extract the files from.
I'm running CM12.1 for a week now with stock cm kernel, all works fine, no issus, no random reboots, so now i will try the squid kernel with the older modem version i got random reboot with the latest r11.
So, if someone needs a special modem file just tell me, i try to get and upload it to the Mega Backup Folder
any idea's if these files will cause any issues on an XT1527 model? i'm having issues with bluetooth performing advanced functions like smartlock and starting the sixaxis bluetooth driver i'm using CM13 10/01/2016 built by openhacker, these issues didn't happen with squid r12 on cm12.1 but with squid r14 on cm13 I can't do anything besides send/receive files over bluetooth.
i dont know, what modem version you have curently?
if its not a modem version from a 5.1 firmware, you can download this firmware https://mega.nz/#!IpFl1bJJ!lJZXXrnDOxNn_zEl94qrYk4-fleRS5QdCSazRG9wums and extract the 2 files from it an flash it, may its helps.
you can use the .bat from my .zip file, just replace the 2 files with the extracted from the downloades firmware file

OK. I put your link to the files in 1st post.
Thanks a lot ! :highfive:
no problem
i think most of the original firmware files are also in the backup folder, so everyone can download the matching firmware and extract the modem files.
i also uploaded the .bat files + ADB only to the Modem Folder, so everyone can just download that .zip + the needed firmware file and extract the modem files

if a firmware file is missing, just let me know, i will try to find the firmware file and add it to the backup folder
These 5.1/.1 file only work with cm12, correct?

Edit:rather, not with the r12-14 squid kerenel....
the updated modem may work for 5.1 stock roms, cm12.1 and cm13
i only testet them on cm12.1 and work just fine with squid kernel r11e
squid kernel r12-r14 only works on cm13 (6.0 basd roms) and i think that the updated modem there just work fine, just use the modem files specific to your model (xt1521, xt1524, xt1526, etc), you can extract the 2 needed files from the original Firmware files, most of them are on my mega backup folder, is a firmware missing just tell me, i try to upload it, also i can upload only the modem files for you, just tell me witch version you need.
the packs that i posted are from the RETUS 5.1 and the other is from the RETEU 5.1.1
I just extracted the Modem files from all 5.1 and 5.1.1 from my Mega Backup Folder, rezip them and uploaded them to my Mega Folder including the adb and .bat files.

is the bootloader unlocked? what is the error message?
also used the right version for your device? did you try to flash in bootloader, not in recovery?
i had no issues, i can flash the RETUS and RETEU on my XT1524
you can also try to flash them via console
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
for me it works fine without any issues
i just added the latest RETUS 5.1 Modem Files

I followed the directions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033586&highlight=
I basically want to return my tab to stock after I rooted it. I followed that guide and everything completed successfully according to heimdall. I wiped data/cache, factory reset.. Then I tried to update with the system update utility on the tab, it fails about 1/3 way through.
I think the baseband/modem is the wrong file. I think I need to use the DJ11 file with the DJ11 rom, can anyone confirm this?
Does anyone have the DJ11 modem.bin file?
Under the About device on the tab it says this:
model number: SCH-I800
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband Version: S:I800.0.3V.EI04
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #3
build number: SCH-I800: DJ11
TIA
I'm running into the same problems after stupidly flashing a sprint rom on to my vzw device. I can't get the 3G back working. I've tried 3 different modem.bin files, and they all take me to baseband E104. I'm thinking I need to get the DJ11 modem file so I can flash the entire stock rom image with heimdall and start from scratch again.
I downloaded the Verizon-GTab_Stock.zip that lexriley had posted and extracted everything in it. It looks to be a 100% complete stock dump, including the mode.bin, bootloaders, and.pit file. However, when Heimdall gets to flashing the modem.bin file, it just stops and hangs at 100%..... Any help?
maybe past its usefulness but,
I screwed up my modem file on sch-i800 and was unable to find the original file so...intelligent or not I heimdalled the modem file from the i-500 and it worked. No problems so far. Wish I could post the file but I don't have it anymore. I was able to google it though. Hope this helps.

I am looking for the file zip of the baseband modem for the G928IDVU1AOH2 firmware.
Hello.
I have been trying to track down the latest bootloader and modem for my device. I can not seem to find the specific files, only the fill 1.5GB STOCK firmware from SamMobile. Is there a way to pull those out of the OFFICIAL FIRMWARE, and make them flashable via odin?
SM-G900W8 - Android 5.1.1 - Build date Fri, 11 Sep 2015 - G900W8VLU1COI4
[FOUND] - SM-G900W8 - Android 5.0 - Build date Tue, 04 Aug 2015 - G900W8VLU1BOC2 [BOOTLOADER_G900W8_VLU1BOC2.tar & MODEM_G900W8_VLU1BOC2.tar]
[FOUND] - SM-G900W8 - Android 5.0 - Build date Tue, 10 Mar 2015 - G900W8VLU1BOC1 [G900W8-LP-VLU1BOC1-BOOTLOADER.tar & G900W8-LP-VLU1BOC1-MODEM.tar]
I can't seem to find the modem and bootloader on XDA anywhere for G900W8VLU1COI4 which is the latest for the phone -- I have the other 2 modem and bootloaders as flashable odin files -- is the ONLY way I can get up to the latest firmware (modem + bootloader) is by flashing the stock firmware file, then flash recovery, then root, then install a custom ROM? Which takes a ton of time over a simple flash of the 2 files I need?
Thank you
Same i have been looking for the exact same thing. ^

Glad I am not the only one, generally there are posts with this as firmware files come out. Myself I am not too sure how to extract these out of the official firmware file to make them flashable in odin
1. Press power , home and down button all together.
2. press continue
3. take your usb cable and plug it in to your phone
4. In odin you should under ID:COM it should be blue , seeing that the computer recognizes.
5. Take the G900W8VLU1BOC2 file and select AP on odin. MAKE SURE TO SELECT AP.
6. It will load and freeze the program for about couple of seconds do not panic.
7. Press start. It will do its thing and than viola!
You just flashed the G900W8VLU1BOC2 file. it should work and SM-G900W8 since it doesnt need and bootloader or MODEM . Its just how its built. Other models need it .

No that will flash the whole phone back to a stock un-rooted image file. That's not what I am looking for.
I am looking for the modem and bootloader files (tar) files to flash -- I don't want to flash stock ROM
And yes you can flash the bootloader and modem file independent, with any S5 variant -- that post you posted, was how to flash back to STOCK

Having found this thread and others with no sign of the latest files, I just grabbed them form the latest firmware and TARed them.
If anyone needs them, grab them here G900W8VLS1DPF3_G900W8OYA1DPF3_G900W8VLS1DPF3 (Modem file too large to attach to this post)
in case anyone wants to reproduce my steps themselves (with G900W8VLS1DPF3_G900W8OYA1DPF3_G900W8VLS1DPF3 or any subsequent one) here they are:
Download the full stock firmware file
Extract the .tar.md5 file (I am using 7zip for all extraction/compression as it supports all formats)
Open the .tar.md5 in 7zip
For modem: grab "modem.bin"
For bootloader: grab the following
aboot.mbn
rpm.mbn
sbl1.mbn
sdi.mbn
tz.mbn
Compress the file (or files) with 7zip using TAR compression (leave all settings alone, "store" compression level is what i used)
take the resulting tar file and flash using ODIN (BL for bootloader; CP for modem)
I accidentally flashed an old modem file. Now my device is in constant bootloop.
I have tried modem from here.
