is this marshmallow yoga 2 update legit ???? - Thinkpad Tablet General

i have a yoga tab 2 10.1 .
while doing a google search i came across this web site...
android-rom.com/upgrade-update-lenovo-yoga-tablet-2-10-1.html
it claims to have a marshmallow update for my tablet and it claims it came from the xda-developers web site {this one}
upon searching in these forums i could not find any link to the original post.

Someone here on XDA said Lenovo support confirmed that they were upping us to M but I'm not holding my breath, although it would be a pleasant surprise.

Android L confirmed for Android One devices finally!!

Google India has finally announced that they will roll out the update next week..and best news about that is we will be the first to get 5.1 Lollipop (yes...you heard it right, 5.1 not 5.0.2).. It has also been mentioned on the official Android One site as "Fastest Android ever, Android 5.1 Lollipop".. In Indonesia Google has already started to shift devices with 5.1 Lollipop. All the pictures and tweets are confirmed.
hoping that it happens soon

Google had also said to provide lollipop "BY THE END OF JANUARY" which obviously didn't happen.... i don't believe what google india said.. But i also saw the android one website of indonesia.. If google doesn't give us updates, soon we will get ported roms of the devices launched there.. So it is a relief..

Google never officially came out and said that it will be available at the end of January..it was believed by many sites actually..but this time Google has came out officially and confirmed..its just that they didn't mention anything about 5.1 which many news sources are claiming.. That's what we need to see if it is 5.0.1 or 5.1 (sorry for bad English)

6.0 and emui 4 please

Well I just got my honor 5 and wanted to upgrade the software, emui says it's 3.1 and when I put the check for updates it says there are no available. Nether when I check my lollipop 5.1.1 to got to Marshmallow. No upgrade available.
My cellphone was one of the Prime Day 120 bucks, KIW-L24c56.
Is there something I should do? I know very few of cellphones, but at least my moto g2 asked me itself to upgrade to Marshmallow which I did, apparently this has Marshmallow upgrade also but nowhere to be found.
Than you.
Wait for it its not fully out yet.. it takes some time.

Check out this thread. It gives detailed instructions to download the official update and install it.
im checking the hihonor website and there is no 6.0 upgrade
Is it just me or no one else can see it ?
http://www.hihonor.com/us/support/
Well... so far no luck upgrading.
I'm new in this subforum (just got my KIW-L24 last night) and have no idea what the "-c56" on your model number is so hopefully I'm not wasting your time, but
I was able to update mine to marshmallow using this update package that was provided in this thread.
Just make a "dload" folder on your internal storage and extract the update file from the zip to it. Then in system update on the phone, hit menu and local update... should walk you through from there.
Hope this helps!
well apparently Huawei pulled out the update because there were some issues with the phones, they are gonna work on it and put the update on L24 with Marshmallow 6 and Emui 4 back when everything is resolved.

Did you hear this from Huawei? I'm thinking the same thing and posted this in another thread, but was wandering if it was officially a problem.
See below:
They have removed marshmallow from the site. It's not official, but I believe they are doing some work to it. It was extremely laggy and had poor battery life and performance compared to lollipop. I reverted back after running it.
You guys would be better off waiting to see what repairs are done to it.
When you click on the support site, look to the right under manuals
http://www.hihonor.com/us/support/
You will see how to rollback officially from Marshmallow, if there were no problems, I'm pretty sure that would NOT be listed the same day marshmallow was removed from the site

Yea, I wrote to them and they replied me that there were some issues regarding the update. One day there was the update and the other it wasnt, so I asked them and they said their engineers are looking into it and as soon as possible its gonna be back posted on the website.
amazing how these buggy updates make it through testing to get released, beyond belief & biggest drawback with current phones is crappy firmware & apps , programming, testing & design rules needs massive improvement ...
Android itself is big part of problem ...
Funny how CM has a better software compared yo such big brand Honor/Huawei
Just now at the Honor US support site.
There is this
KIW-L24, Android 6.0.1,EMUI 4.0,C567D003,United States
for download.
Hope it is the patched version.
yea I just entered the website and saw it too.
Im gonna wait a while to see if things are patched, apparently the patch is the same as the one before so Ill wait a bit until people test it out.

The files are dated 7/25/16
nothing changed in the about phone screen, I assume it's just bug fix for the memory leaks and bad battery

I am sure that this is what I put on my daughters phone yesterday, but it still shows as B331 in the about phone screen. Can anyone else confirm this?
well I got 6.0.1 and new Emui in my cellphone OTA. Just this morning I got an update and after downloading and installing it was the new version.
Phone seems a bit laggy and not as fast as 5.0, is this normal for 6.0? Or just me?

Is this android N update legit?

Recently when I was searching for Android N update on ZTE axon 7 I found this site: a9droid.com/zte-axon-7-android-nougat-7-0-update . Android N is main reason I haven't bought axon yet so I'm really interested in installing it, but this website seems very suspicious. Is it even possible to install stock Android(that's what I suppose they do) on ZTE phone?
Words of advice: If it seems too good to be true, it usually is. Please be careful when browsing through questionable websites and do not believe everything to read. Stick to XDA-Developers.com and you should be fine.
That site is utterly untrustworthy. It doesn't give any info on how to update (hint: that's because there is no nougat update yet), tells you how complicated it is and how you need tech-savvy friends or a repair shop to do it for you and then says "if all of that is too complicated for you, there's this magic apk from our website "that will transform your device into latest Android Nougat interface". Best case scenario: they're writing a bunch of bull**** in order to get traffic to their website. Worst case scenario: that apk has malware instead of just Google's launcher.
Okey. So are there any news about the official update? Axon is advertised as first daydream ready phobe and android N is part of phone being daydream ready...
ZTE haven't released a Nougat rom yet so why would some random site have it?
Just got an update on the Chinese Axon 7, B10. Still 6.0.1...

The german ZTE website today stated that the phone would receive Nougat before the end of the year. That's all I know about this so far.

Will the T280 get Marshmallow

Hi I own a T280.
It is running Lollipop 5.1.1.
I read on the internet that it will get Marshmallow and they in fact have started rolling out.
Who of you works for Samsung and can confirm this?
Or are the websites that are telling this full of [email protected]#$?
Thanks!

Best way to check for me is to look at https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-T280. If the device indeed has marshmallow rolling out, you should be seeing 6.0.1 based firmwares. Unfortunately there are none. If you were to ask me, this device should have been shipping marshmallow from the get go given the time of its release.
From what I read it was suppose to happen in December. The Nook 7 is the same tablet and they already released the owner manual for Marshmallow. So I hope that means it's coming soon or something to that effect... I only want Marshmallow for 1 lonely little feature "Adoptable storage" which I understand on Samsung devices I'll have to get a patch for it to work, but still should be better then App2SD which is great but not perfect.

I did before I posted. I'm guessing you didn't.
I found this website for the SM-P580....
w##.samdown.com/samsung/SM-P580/
But I am unsure of the reliability of any of the firmwares listed...
I did get the original link to show up today(it didn't yesterday though...)
Waiting on the USA Download now

I am still waiting for SamMobile to have the firmware available for download before I attempt anything. It's has been months. I won't download a firmware for my SM-580 from a untrusted site.
I live in India but I purchased my Tab A 10.1 with S Pen from the US. Recently I read on the Internet everywhere that Nougat has started rolling out for SM-P580, but I don't know, I don't seem to receive it yet. Tried manual pulling of the OTA as well. But of no use. Tried connecting using VPNS but still no update. Did anyone in the US receive it yet? If yes can you please post the screenshots and also how did you receive the update ?

Germany has it first but nothing for the US yet. I have both Tab A 10.1 and Tab A 10.1 with S pen. I think the news article was a lie.
