It actually works, but you need Y-type OTG cable which has power connector for charger or external battery to powering both USB devices and smartphone itself since Grand 2 can't powering USB devices.

I already tried it with standard USB OTG cable, it detects but no power (means nothing). I use TouchWiz Lolipop ROM

Hi. Can someone look at the usb cable that came with the galaxy s4 (the end the connects to the galaxy s4) and see if all the gold pins are there? I notice that I have one line of pin missing from inside the cable. I wonder if it was like that or my was damage somehow. Thanks.
Seems to be all there for me

Would I be setting myself up for failure if I joined these two together?? I forgot my cable at work and I'm so mad.. But I have the "USB Type-C to Standard-A cable" and a "Samsung fast adaptive charging brick"
Would this do any harm??
Thanks in advance!!

Anyone??

I'm literally doing that right now and since the cable and phone don't support "fast charging" and the brick is adaptive you should be good. Mine isn't getting warm at all while charging.

Perfectly fine. I do that with my Quick Charge 2.0 battery pack a fair bit.
Just know that the phone won't say it's charging rapidly, since you'll be limited to 1.5A at most

Can some one guide me?

I'm using the Apple USB C to A adaptor with my flash drive, and it works perfectly. I only had to format it and done. I've paid 19 bucks for the adaptor at Best Buy. I think the hub would work as well, but that's just a guess. Hope someone can help you before you buy it.
