This is a very simple guide to load the International (NXT-L29) software onto the Chinese version (I have NXT-AL10 with 128GB and it works for me.) Please try at your own risk. If anything goes wrong you can always do the Wifi recovery.
Prerequisites:
Bootloader Unlocked.
Fastboot, ADB, Drivers (I can't do a tutorial for this, please google for how to get these set up.)
Files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B79PB4FhWfJAVXpUaGpmS3pyd28/view?usp=sharing
You should get a RAR file with a bunch of IMG files. These are extracted from NXT-L29_C900B133_Firmware_global_Nonspecific_Android6.0_EMUI4.0_05013HRE
Boot the phone into fastboot mode, using ADB or holding power+volume down.
Run the following fastboot commands:
fastboot flash cache (PATH-TO)cache.img
fastboot flash cust (PATH-TO)cust.img
fastboot flash system (PATH-TO)system.img
fastboot flash userdata (PATH-TO)userdata.img
If everything went well, everything will work when you boot it up.
It cost me $20 to download the firmware from an unscrupulous Iranian site, but I pass along the gains to everyone at no charge
Differences from the Chinese version:
1. Google apps and services.
2. Voice wakeup is no longer very powerful. If you speak Chinese, you can ask the Chinese version of HiVoice the weather, play music, etc. The International (English) version only lets you make calls and find your phone, so it's less useful.
3. Missing various Chinese apps.
For me, in a lot of ways the Chinese version is better. It makes me want to learn Chinese so I can have some hands-free assistant compatibility But things like Google Now on Tap are working in the International version, so it's useful in its own ways as well.
UPDATE: Wifi restore might not necessarily work to revert to Chinese firmware. So please be very careful. I was able to revert by using flashboot to put back the Chinese firmware, then using the wifi restore once my device was recognized as NXT-AL10 again.

Only if you unlock the phone first, though. For example, when I'm going to sleep and I have the phone nearby, I might ask the weather for the next day, etc. If I theoretically spoke Chinese well enough to do that, I could
I can use the voice assistant to wake the phone, then use "Ok Google" to activate google now, but google now's voice response only works if the phone has no lockscreen set. I have no idea why.
hey duraaraa, so u managed to get to those firmwares after all, congratz! and big big thanks for making it available free of charge, kudos for taking one for the community! much appreciated
so hey, questions: did u notice any difference between the two firmwares concerning the ubiquituous notification issue? and why did u flash right back to the chinese firmware? are u so set on learning chinese? haha

Ah okay, didn't know about the lockscreen issue with google now.
Maybe a 3 party lockscreen app can solve the problem.
THANK YOU!

It will not fix push messages. The push messages issue can be fixed with Doze settings or by disabling Phone Manager. But please note, you can't fix the push messages by installing this. I tried and failed

The reason is the Chinese firmware has more unique Huawei features. Feels like (although Google stuff got added) more got taken out than was added, and I can add the Google stuff myself, to the Chinese ROM.
The permission manager also became Google's version (I somewhat preferred Huawei's version), and there just didn't seem to be any reason to stay on the international firmware. The only thing I could think of is if I could somehow use international modem to enable Band 28 for Japan where I am currently, but since Band 1 and 3 are covered, I'm generally okay in that regard too.
As for learning Chinese to use the HiVoice assistant, I think it would be very fun to learn enough to communicate with my phone
To be clear, notification issues are exactly the same on Chinese and on International ROMS. Please don't get your hopes up You can fix them with Doze settings editor, though, on either.

... yup ... damn!
I noticed that the file manager is missing on the internal rom. The yellow Pages App was removed and unlinked to the "call" app, so you won´t get any chinese numbers as recommendation if you start dail a number.

*** ROOT ***
i tried rooting the Mate8 with International (NXT-L29) Rom successfully. After setting up the device with the files from International rom, i sent it to twrp with the Mate8 root tool. On exit custom recovery, you may choose to install superSU script. After reboot into normal mode, superSU script appears on the screen and can be used to auto-Install SuperSU (again via twrp, but automatic mode).

@duraaraa Can you post Contacts.apk of international rom, I hate some chinese yellow page
@duraaraa Thanks for your efforts! I do not own a Mate 8. Still deciding between Mate 8, Blue XL pure and the new Letv Le Max Pro (which isn't out yet).
I also admire your willingness to learn Chinese to take advantage of some of the Mate 8 features! I was wondering, on the international version, is recovery in English?
true, good point, recovery in english would be another argument to switch to the international rom i guess im gonna take my time and check both the original chinese and the international rom, see which one serves my needs best just several days to go now, my mate 8 should be arriving next week

Hi,
How do you guys do to flash the chinese rom back? The one I dowloaded here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/orig-development/huawei-mate-8-stock-firmware-t3289603 has nothe same "img" format.
Sorry for my ignorance and thanks.

I would like to note that I have not been able to successfully get notifications working with the screen off (in doze IDLE state) with the international rom, regardless of doze settings. I'm working to figure out the root of the notifications issue. It looks like despite the timer, the phone never goes from IDLE to IDLE_MAINTENANCE in both the latest Chinese version and in the international version I posted in this thread. When I find the answers (I'm currently testing with an older Chinese version I had notifications working on before) I will let everyone know!
EDIT: I made a post about this, so please refer to it. If anyone can help me figure out why these phones (except for one firmware version) don't get out of IDLE when they're supposed to, we can solve this for everyone

You know... the notifications issue is a big problem. I'd almost recommend not buying the phone for that. Otherwise it's a great phone, though.
It's just a really messy situation with the firmware differences

I flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0_4.4 with ODIN and had no issues getting it to stick. When the device reboots after the ODIN flash, make sure you are immediately holding the home button and volume up button. As long as you can get it to boot into TWRP immediately after the flash, it will stick.
However, flashing SuperSU resulted in a bootloop immediately after. Guess we need a new root for this firmware. If you care, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-2014/help/twrp-4-4-build-5-1-1-rom-t3216561 is a thread I started for this. Any feedback on whether it includes the new snote and new spen features like smart clip from Note 4 or Note 5
In p605 now is possibile write a note in lockscreen

The pen window has these commands now:
Air Command (no change)
Smart Select (where old Scrap Booker was)
Image Clip (where old Screen Write was)
Screen Write (where old S-Finder was)
Pen Window (no change)
So I think the answer is "Yes" depending on what you mean by "Smart Clip"
Root!

It works without doing Step 1 (i.e. on the Stock Tmobile ROM)! All credit goes to @bluecat for doing the work and @M3r71n0 for the English translation!

Were you able to install the SuperSU beta via TWRP? I just get that the file is corrupt and can't go any further. I was able to flash the new ROM and TWRP using the first few steps.
Yes. I am not sure if a final version has been released.
Has anyone here observed that ever since updating to lollipop that it won't store Wi-Fi credentials through reboots? It seems every time I reboot my tablet I have to reconnect to my Wi-Fi...
Edit... it seems that it's not just reboots that causes the WiFi to forget the saved networks. Turning WiFi off and then back on again will also cause it to forget all saved networks. Not sure what to do to fix this this time...
Just tried a factory reset to see if maybe I just had a dirty flash or something... Didn't help. Is anyone else having this problem?
Should have asked first, are you on stock, or did you try to root using the P605 guide? If you are rooted, then open up /system/build.prop and change ro.securestore.support from true to false to fix the wifi issue... If you are on stock, read on for some suggestions...
I do not have this problem. Based on other people discussing something similar on OTHER devices, few things you may want to try are below ... Please note that I am NOT an expert and there is a good chance I am citing discussions that have NOTHING to do with your problem. 1 and 2 should be safe and not do any damage to your device, but 3 might be risky. So, please try solutions at your own risk ...
1) Forget/Delete the connection once and connect to it again from scratch by entering the password. Right now you reenter the password when the device forgets it, but some people seemed to be discussing how deleting a working connection and reentering password manually seems to fix it. No idea why this would work!
2) Since you already did a factory reboot, one suggestion I saw elsewhere was to flash the new ROM with ODIN, then reflash it again right away. Again, absolutely no idea if or why this might ever work!
3) Are you sure you updated to the RIGHT LL ROM for your device? The most frequent reason I see for this is if you flashed the wrong device/region ... For example, if you are on the P607T (T-Mobile) and flashed the Nordic (NEE) ROM that is listed in the root guides on this site, that might mess up your wi-fi. Some discussion I saw on this suggested flashing the correct MODEM file manually.
If you ever figure it out, please come back and share your solution!

I actually have the SM-P607T and I downloaded the stock ROM from Youmobile and flashed with Odin because Kies and Smart Switch kept locking up on me. I started fresh and only restored apps after flashing an unsecured boot and rerooting.
This suggestion worked perfectly. Stored WiFi passwords now survive reboots and turning WiFi on and off.
I would have quite literally found that. Thank you SO much! That little problem was wildly inconvenient but it's fixed now.
Thanks again.

No problem! This is apparently quite a common issue and you would have bumped into a discussion sooner or later... I noticed that even the thread with the unsecured boot image has now been updated with this information
Thanks for that link btw ... Does everything else work alright with that kernel on the P607T? The P605 is AT&T, if I am not mistaken and I am unsure what changes exist between that and the T-Mo version. Its strange that Samsung has released so much on its opensource portal for the 605, but literally just one source for the 607T. Perhaps because the base code is the same? No idea, but if you are happy with your performance out of this kernel, let us know...

I'm actually quite pleased with performance and usability of my P607T with the stock 5.1.1 ROM installed. Everything works as expected except for that wifi issue and that's now fixed thanks to your info a few posts up.
I can't speak to whether or not the base code is the same or not I would imagine that the code is likely very similar if not the same because I had "[ROM][P605][5.0.2] Besonderes; a Touchwiz Lollipop ROM for Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE" which is made for the P605 installed on my P607T and everything worked except wifi direct which is actually very important to me because my work program requires it.
Now I can't keep my tablet rooted because the program I use for work won't load with the tablet rooted. This has been the case since 4.4.4 too so no big deal..
What I have to do is go into supersu and turn root on and off as needed. A bit inconvenient but it works...

Good to know everything works well ...
Blue Cat has been sharing his source files and config and suggested some ways to compare P605 with P607T to figure out if they are the same or how similar they are. Its been a while since I tinkered with linux, but as and when I learn something, will update.

I followed the instructions from this linked thread, substitute p607t firmware for the p605 in step 1.
Key is to not let it auto reboot after Odin flashes twrp, if you miss that step then you have to reflash it as it will be overwritten.
Once you are in twrp then you flash supersu and boot up.

I was never able to get Knox disabled from supersu and was constantly getting the security check notification(I had frozen parts of it in the past and now it won't thaw no matter what I have tried, FULL wipe and reflash, check w tibu and still frozen... Hi guys,
This thread is for speculation and discussion mostly. I'm wondering what the likelihood of us getting any significant android updates in the future is? Yota seems to have gone pretty quiet as regards the 2. It's pretty likely their focussing their limited resources on the Yota 3. I would say it's pretty certain that that will come out running marshmallow so it should be feasible that mm comes to the Yota 2 as well.
I'm also wondering about the 3. If it comes out with better relative specs than last time then I'm going to consider it seriously; if it's to the yota 2 what the yota 2 was to the 1 then it should be a pretty good phone.
Lastly is there any chance of some custom ROM development for this phone? Tempted to look into it myself but won't be able to for a while due to life schedule and whatnot. Could CM be ported? What features do we think we could add? Is it just too much work due to the second screen or is a custom version of the stock ROM possible?
Hope there's still some decent attention going to this. Shame about the US launch being cancelled, we could have done with the recruits .
After the US failure, I thought they would abandon YP2 pretty soon too, but they're are least still developing 5.0 further, so I think there will a nice 5.0 update soon. They have a version lined up with some candy in it: double tap to wake, new widgets, and some other stuff I can't remember. Battery life seems OK-ish too. They pathed stagefright and stagefright 2.0 bugs as well, and include a google android (security) patch level reference in the about screen.
I don't know about 5.1 or 6.0, but I think their US marketing manager has said in the past they've been testing 5.1 at least.
About custom firmware: I have made some small steps in the past (initially targetting AOSP 5.0) but I nor others have invested enough time in it to grow it into a complete firmware. Once AOSP would build nicely, CM is not that far away.
Full EPD functionality is something else though. It's been discussed before: The low-level EPD driver stuff (to draw stuff on the backscreen) is included in the kernel sources that Yota released last may, and so it would be available in a custom firmware as well. However it would not be usable by anything but custom built apps (not the current apps/widgets), that would access the EPD interface directly. The framework adaptions and SDK support that Yota did (screen mirroring, backscreen manager service to display widgets and covers etc) is not open source, so it cannot easily be ported. It might run as-is on a 5.0 custom ROM, but not likely on 5.1 or 6.0. So on top of creating a Custom ROM, there would need to be designing and coding effort to make the EPD actually usable. With the current level of interest from devs chances are pretty slim. Maybe a bounty system might work if there are enough people interested in contributing, but looking at the level activity in the Yotaphone subforum, I doubt that enough people are interested to make it worthwhile. (Or do we have a rich Russian Oil Company mogul in our midst ?
Anyway, I expect a Yota firmware update pretty soon with some nice improvements, still remaining at lollipop 5.0 though.
Edit: forgot to mention that I'm having trouble installing Xposed with newer versions, can't get it to work, hangs at boot animation. So if you're attached to Xposed, be careful when upgrading once the new firmware becomes available.
LRX21M.5.0.0-HK1.1.66 update
I just got an OTA system update request on my phone for downloading version LRX21M.5.0.0-HK1.1.66 today. I have not installed it yet, because my phone is rooted and I'm hoping someone else will take the plunge and report results before I try. (I'd hate to lose root entirely.)
I checked the official firmware repository (ftp://fw.ydevices.com/YotaPhone2/Firmwares/) and this version hasn't appeared there yet. There seems to be a similar new one for the APC region though. (Incidentally, I'm in the US, but I bought the phone online and apparently it was HK region. Works fine for me, so I don't care.)
I took screenshots and stitched them together so I could share the complete update description. I apologize for the ridiculously large image, but I didn't want to have to type all this stuff up, and I wasn't aware of a way to copy and paste it as text.

I was considering downloading it, but I'm not sure if I can do that and not have it auto-update once the download is finished. If I could get the file, I'd be happy to post it somewhere online if it would be useful. I've got ES File Explorer and root, and I assume it will be stored in /cache, but I don't want to risk updating right now.

Nice that they included a releasenotes, I have the impression that not everything is in there (like selecting a background photo for yotahub panels). It's nice to see that they're still improving on YP2 firmware.
I tested a version close to this one (but for another region) and it had a bad bug in the touchscreen functionality: when holding the phone (and thereby touching the backscreen) the front screen would not register taps or gestures correctly anymore. Not saying that this version has that bug too, but it might be worth testing this. Yota's got versions beyond 1.66 already, which include double tap to wake (and double tap to open specific apps on the backscreen while locked)
With TWRP you can backup your phone (including system, boot and data) and try the new firmware out. You can easily restore the backup if not satisfied, you'll be on your previous version again, including root.
There's a good chance that your firmware update will fail if you're rooted (as the original files on /system are different than expected by the update). So you should probably unroot, then update, then root again by flashing supersu through (TWRP) recovery.
The firmware file you might be able to capture is probably of limited use as it will likely be an incremental update from your specific previous version to 1.66.
So, backup first then try it out!
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try to set aside some time this weekend and do a backup/update. Once I do, I'll post my findings here. Hopefully this update doesn't have that touchscreen bug you mentioned. I haven't had any major problems with my phone on the current version, but I'm curious to try what the update has to offer.
I hadn't thought about TWRP for rolling back. I never flashed it directly to the device, but I assume I can still do it by booting up as described in the post on here. And even if rooting somehow changed or was locked down, I'm assuming I can still boot the TWRP image and re-flash my backup. My bootloader is unlocked, and I assume will stay that way.

Your bootloader status and TWRP recovery should be fine by this update, haven't seen attempts to mess with any of that with recent firmwares.
Which ROM is for where?
Can anyone tell me which ROM is for what area, and if possible what the differences are.
Read all the Yotaphone posts and have a pretty good idea but 1 stumps me.
CN China YD206 Best radio
APC Asia Pacific?
EU Europe YD201
HK Hong Kong 4.43 What I just bought.
Has an OTA app but no update yet.
Planning to root, TWRP then EU 5.00 with CN radio but I'd sure like to know what ME is for.
RU Russia
ME No idea since Mexico is the same as the US.
Middle East?
I've been working at this non-stop for the past week, and I've finally found a way. I am not able to flash a European ROM on the Chinese Mate 9.
I came very close to bricking my device, so I'm currently making sure of the method. Here is what it looks like:
http://imgur.com/a/1ONOF
(I am long-pressing the home button to show it's fully google-ized, in both pictures, but I took my hand out of the picture for paranoia purposes)
So, how is it done? Through eRecovery. I will release the full method once I have tested it enough for public consumption, because I don't want people bricking their devices.
How does it work? It's... interesting.
The version showing up on the phone is the last Chinese firmware which was installed. It doesn't update to show what version it is. In the imgur picture, for instance, it says B109SP01, but it's actually B115 running on it. The phone still thinks it's a Chinese phone, so if you try to get an OTA, you'll probably be getting a Chinese OTA which will not work correctly. So in that sense, it's a bastardized version, and OTAs/updates will not work normally -- You'll have to flash them through a different method.
The positive side is, Google works. Completely. It comes installed out of the gate with account sync, and so on. Other than being Google-fied, some other differences include the permissions menu, the keyboard (SwiftKey is default), and a few other things here and there. The default theme looks strange, and I think it has to do with the cust partition not matching the actual model. This is something I'm currently looking into before release. I'm also looking into using version B122 (or newer if it becomes available) instead of 115.
I'm sure many of you want to get your hands on the European firmware and the method to install it. If you're interested in testing despite one-day-old pre-beta status, shoot me a PM, and I'll try to get you hooked up. In the future, because this method will require a lot of data transfer, I'm considering charging some money to people who download it, and setting up a proper server.
Anyway, for now, know that it's possible, and if you want to do it right away, get in touch with me and I'll try to help!
Update: I have now verified that it's possible to go back to the Chinese ROM. I should have something for those who contacted me wanting to test tomorrow. Since this is a LOT of work, priority will be given to those willing to make a donation.
Although I don't have a Chinese M9 I appreciate your efforts as this opens up the way to flashing other stock and maybe even custom ROM's. Well done!

Unfortunately, I think that custom ROMs will not work with this method, because they're not signed by Huawei.
Wow, That's great news.
I really appreciate your efforts.
I think that you can get a little bit of money in return for your efforts.
I would like to participate in this plan.
Please notify me when the procedure is completed.
Thanks again!
So, here's where we are at right now:
We can flash the system partition of a European firmware, no problem. There's seemingly no issue there.
Where we get the issue is when we look at the cust partition. Because we can't change the actual region of the phone from all/cn to hw/eu, for example, the cust partition has issues. What I mean by issues is, you don't get any of the default themes, various software might be missing features, and so on. Your phone's model number also appears to change from MHA-AL00 to M300-AL00 if you flash the non-Chinese cust partition. When this happens, things go crazy, and you cannot see a proper version number, build number, or model number.
I am looking into making a 'bastardized' version of something to flash, using a Chinese cust partition with an international system rom. Theoretically, this could fix the issues to an extent. It will, however, probably give you a warning upon boot-up that the system has been tampered with, and so on. I will have more information later tonight, Japan time, when I get a chance to work on it some more.
The programs which go missing on a flash of the European firmware are the following:
AutoInStallAPKFromMcc HPLegacyPlugin HwPhoneService PlayGames
Books HwCloudDrive_Local LatinImeGoogle PlusOne
ChromeHomePage HwID Newsstand PredefinedEapSim
GameBoxGlobal HwOUC OMACP talkback
Appmanager HwBetaClub Instagram_Stub Todoist
Booking HwHealthPlatform_OVE Installer Todoist_ntp
DisableTodoistReceiver HwLogUploadService NewsRepublic Twitter
Facebook_Stub HwOUCBeta ProjectMenuAct WPS
Along with all the included themes, and the auto-installer which mounts via USB when you plug the phone in.
Obviously, some of these files are more important than others. All of the things really vital to being able to use the phone can likely be loaded via a Chinese cust partition, but the versions are probably different from the european versions.
Update:
I've obtained a server and am currently setting things up to bring this to the public. The first stage will be a private test. I'm still willing to take some testers who are willing to put their phones in the line of fire! I don't think the private test will launch today, because a new International B126 ROM just came out, so I'm going to base my work off of that for now.
After all the kinks are worked out, I will develop some kind of system for the general public to use. Eventually, this system will be one where you configure your DNS to my server, log into a website, choose what firmware you want to flash, then use eRecovery and that firmware will flash to your phone. I will have to customize all of the international firmware to work perfectly on Chinese devices, and I've yet to do that, but will be working on it. If there's a need, I can expand this system to other Huawei phones. It's exciting times for Mate 9 owners.
Hi duraraa
I have just received my 128g mate 9 in France. I will be happy tomake a donation and participate to the test. Please let me know.

Sure, thank you for your interest. In the meantime, if you are currently on a version like B115 or higher, please downgrade to B106 / B109SP01 so you are familiar with the process.
Update: Now that we can install Google framework on the Chinese latest firmware, I have decided to cancel this project for now. I may keep a server alive to upload to unsupported/beta firmwares, but trying to get the European firmware working well on the Chinese Mate 9 is no longer a priority.
Which version of the firmware Duraraa ?

Just search for GMS in the HiApp store. Huawei released a google framework installer.
But the app twin functionality in Chinese handset only allows QQ and wechat. Please continue with finding out how we can install European Rom on Chinese handset so we can have twin app functionality for whatsapp.

Yes very strange....But there must be a way to fix this right?
Mate 9 from Taiwan
Hi everyone, keeping an eye on the market I found a very tempting offer on the 64GB version - HUAWEI Mate 9 64GB 4G Dual Sim SIM FREE/ UNLOCKED .
Now, my knowledge of ROM flashing is "level: what is a ROM?", but I am reading lots on the subject , but a couple of months ago I bought a P9 for my wife, chinese Al00 version, no problems to install Google Play but still many things are in chinese, the language correction for english or other EU languages sucks. That is why I decided not to go for Chinese versions unless there were exaustive guides on how to flash the mobile to an international or better european ROM.
Said all that, I wonder if anyone has found an easy way to solve the above mentioned issues - I assume everyone with a chinese version will have similar problems - and if you solved them otherwise.
Thanks for any information you might provide, and sorry if I missed key info to have this question properly addressed, but I will be happy to add it if asked.
Cheers,
Daniele

Not via the built-in settings since Meizu has disabled the root feature (although you might still see it)
I am not going to try, but if you wanna risk it, you can try Kingoroot (beware, contains maleware)
Besides root, I would love a twrp version for the 16th.
So, appears that I've bought meizu right in time, when rooting is all pain again! lol hell, I was hoping that this time I won't need to scratch my brain untill it bleeds haha
No news meantime? Need to wait for someone to solve that rooting 16th stuff?
I'm waiting for root also.
I have asked meizu seller on AliExpress but so far they didn't respond to it

I'm sorry but they are the most unlikely people to help you out with this.
You will have to wait for either a twrp or a release of the root option restriction in an upcoming flymeOS update.
Since both options are rather unlikely to happen soon, you might be stuck with unrooted stock for a while. Sorry.
I've heard that there are succesfull tests of unlocking and flashing twrp done already! They aren't letting it go public yet tho.
Hi. Got my white global few days ago. This is good news.
Where to follow these news? Patiently waiting for root and xposed-magisk.

Yeah, I'm waiting for using tweaks too. I've read about it at 4pda.ru but nothing certain besides someone varified there is a tested way but it will take time till it goes public.
I believe you can just check on here, it will pop up eventually since xda is the biggest android dev solutions pool as far as I know.
If I'll read anything new at 4pda, I'll post it here.

Found a little tweak for mback.
Installed gravitybox for oreo in xposed.
In navigation keys actions enabled double tap action to home for all keys ( menu, home, back, recents). Will explore more which one is responsible...
Now when i double tap mback it goes to home.
Reason, sometimes its hard to press mback to go home when you are holding phone with one hand. And when surfing in browser it goes back and you lose current page..

Dont know.
There is google backup. I have not tried.
good day everyone,
Please forgive me for asking this about the VNS-L23. I know there are tons on similar issues on the forum, I've been reading but non specific to my model. I also know that some of the solutions may work on the VNS-L23 variant as well but, I'm swamped and a bit confused. Can someone please assist in helping me restore the VNS-L23 back to stock OR the latest OS/firmware that is available?
I tried flashing a Nougat firmware, flash was successful but, when phone rebooted it would not go past the Huawei eRecovery, no matter what i try.
I tried flashing other VNS-L23 firmwares via 3 button method...no success
I tried 'Download latest version and recovery'...no success
I am able to get into Fastboot mode.
I tried to flash TWRP...i was unsuccessful (ADB did recognize device).....on FASTBOOT screen i see Phone: Locked FRP: unlocked...failed...command not allowed (i think)
I tried to use DC unlock-er to make some headway, of course i have to make a purchase costing 15 pounds. I always support these things but, i do not want to purchase and it still does not work.
According to DC unocker's detection:
Firmware: VNS-L23C605B120
FB LockState: Locked
USER LockState: Locked
You guys are awesome here and i know I'll get back my device to work....Please, I just bought it, not even 2 days and i cant even use it now because of this issue.
Many thanks in advance....Ronald
Is this the 2016 or 2017 model?

1. When I'm on horizontal (for example whatching a vodeo in YouTube, or playing in a game) the screen rotates itself, and the comeback, even when the autorotate is off.
2. When I'm going to type something the keyboard hides itself and I have to open it again.
And that's all, I hope you can help me.
By the way, I have tried to make a factory reset but it didn't work.

Well, looking onto the UNIFIED HELP THREAD, in post #6
there is "UNBRICKING AND DOWNGRADING FROM EMUI 5" section.
Here are some rollback packages but not for L23...
You need that package and need the full ota L23C212B130 firmware
from which extract update.app.
I don't know how to grab those files. I've searched with
Firmware Finder but B130 full ota isn't there...
So, go to next step...

B336 seems to be the latest firmware and no update are available.
If you want play a bit with your device you should consider
a rebrand but it is a bit difficult to find correct L23oeminfo file and firmware.
Maybe it can be converted to L21 or L31 version but never tried, i won't risk..
Some payed services should exist to assist you...
That's all dude, feel free to ask.
Cheers
edit: modified the link to UHT thread.
well, i think i will resign.
Thanks for your help anyway.

Guys...I tried and tried and tried. Was most frustrating so I resorted to someone from Pakistan with software and programs to bring my P9 lite back to life. If you guys want I can put you on to the person. Or, if we can sort it out here then better because, of course it comes with a small fee to restore my device back to normal but I was desperate. I will say though, I didn't regretted it.
