As the title says, on LG G3 I used CPU Temp app but it doesn't support Nexus 6P (it only gives estimated reading). I tried many apps and none of them works except for CPU Z but this one gives me like 15 different temperature readings and doesn't say what is what.

If you have root you can use Kernel Auditor to display your CPU temp.

Excuse me for bumping this thread but I just found out u can set custom paths with cool tool from playstore.
So u can set any sensor reading in statusbar.
Maybe this will help someone.

At the labels tab, uncheck everything except custom label 1,2,3.
Underneath, click fine tuning, scroll down and select custom label 1 2 or 3.
Then fill in the fields corresponding to the paths your device uses for certain temperature sensors.
This varies from device to device and even from firmware or kernel.
So u have to find out what path the sensors reading are for the sensors u want to show up.

I've checked everything even changed 'regex' settings and still no go. I guess Nexus 6P just doesn't allow check this reading.

Hello all,
Here is my 2 cents contribution to all the people that are wondering why their batteries are out in 10 hours!
I would like to share my tool, and maybe get help with my code if people are interested.
This goal of this app is to help you to detect what is going wrong with your battery by displaying values of the drain. It will never analyse or detect an app!

I was getting tired of calculating battery per time.
Maybe it would be better if it record battery usage per time.

Useful app and a good start.

Great. I wanted to compare battery drains in using different kernel or different cpu scaling governor. I think your app will come in handy. Thanks...

Looks nice. Could we have an alarm that warns you when battery draw is higher than normal (only when the screen is off)?
My phone sometimes starts sucking power when my Exchange connection goes haywire. I'd love to be warned that it's in a high-draw situation instead of it just going dead.
I installed it on my Transformer Prime. So far, so good. Around 2/3 of the time under 1%/hr of battery usage.
Would be nice, if you would add a "min/mean/max" CPU usage for the time period of possible. Basically, instead of only collecting time/battery percentage, you could collect other system useful data.
And why not, trying to figure the "charging speed". This would also be nice, I suspect some of my USB chargers to be less efficient/fast.
And... It might be possible to detect batteries that will soon die! Above average %hr... I have a lot of ideas for you.

Hi, when I'm outside the display is not readable in sunlight, even if I check the ultrabrightness. Is that a common problem or there's a way to get it readable? There are different options in Cyanogen, maybe there's something I can do? :fingers-crossed:
Please provide complete details of which ROM you are using, and reporting it to its specified ROM thread will answer your query faster

I think you can use custom modded roms as they provide very high brightness.
Roms like Ixperia, HTX MIUI..etc have very high brightness option.

I'm not sure that x8 screen has bad luminance. If you use gingerdx v22,there is autobrightness work very good and on sun display became very light and you can normally see on it!
Or use stock rom and set to full brightness,because on cm roms full brightness isn't same as on stock!

If I have one, mine is not blinking.
It works on mine, no real need for it though.

First of I created this thread because it seemed like people where having success in getting rid of the lag and stutter they see. Ill explain why LG implements this in their phone later on. First of lets get to binness.
The option is hidden in the dailer menu. Its the last option called dynamic LCD refresh off/on.
Here is a pic:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When you press it, select screen fps and it should disable the dynamic fps system which reduces the UI frame rates and causes perceived mild stutters. Shut the phone off for 10 seconds and then turn it back on. The settings should stick.
60fps is smoother than any phone I have ever owned. This phone never lagged out of the box. LG implemented this feature that changes the screen refresh rate dynamicly. So while you are using your phone normally in the UI, it drops the animation FPS to 30 fps. This apperantly conserves battery.
It is kinda like the same thing that Nvidia does with their mobile gtx 800m GPU's. They give the user the option to set a target frame rate and then the cpu/gpu only works hard enough to meet the target fps, never working harder than it has to. This is basically bringing down CPU/GPU utilization and saving battery life.
Example: If I where to play Titan Fall on my PC and set the target frame rate to 60fps, my CPU/GPU avarage utilization will be 80%. If i set the target fps to 30fps the my CPU/GPU avarage utilization will be 60%, saving me battery life.
I hope this makes sense, and I created this thread to give some people awareness about this option. The 801 soc breezes through this QHD display.
Update: For people who are having sticking issues, try to enable both of these options. It is not a 100% though, but try your luck.
I'll give it a shot. I personally don't know how much better this phone could get for how I use it.
---------- Post added at 01:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:05 PM ----------
I followed the instructions but after boot it did not stick so I will see if it sticks by just switching off and just using the phone with a reboot.
My setting also did not stick after a reboot, but it seems smoother... doesn't make any sense unless I'm imagining things.

Is battery life the only downside to doing this or could it affect the life of the display over time?

we need a kernel to support dt2w
I tried it, the option shows in settings but only DT2S works on lockscreen. When i try to DT2W nothing happens. Probably kernel related. I know that we have fingerprint for unlock...but could be nice to use this feature, after all almost every huawei device has it. We have to hope in a custom kernel...someday
I use the 'ALWAYS ON DISPLAY' app from the playstore, supports dt2w, a feature I've grown quite faint of since owning a LG before this phone... It's a way to get it back plus the always on display from the s7/s8

Hi there,
How much does it shorten the battery life? Obviously the phone is not sleeping when this is on and unlike oled, the LCD requires backlight to be on to work.
Also can you choose another style? I'd like something more minimalistic if I were to use it.
I too would like to know how much battery resorses this app needs?
Please tell us more about your experiance with this app and dt2w
It does have several other modes, some of which are definitely more minimal...
As for battery life I can't really complain of a huge difference. Especially with root because this app works great in conjunction with Greenify, also helps to keep the brightness turned down low, and pocket mode enabled (turns screen off when proximity sensor is covered). All in all it does seem to very from day to day tho. Some days I can't even tell that it's affected my battery life whatsoever, and some days I can tell that it does somewhat. But never go the point that I reconsider it's worth. To me it's a no Brainer!
