My Nexus 7 has a problem about the brightness.
For several months it's dead. No life signals. No charge. I try to fix the battery but nothing. Probably it was undercharge.
However, miraculously now it's go. But the brightness is very very low...
Settings are high (manual or automatic) but I see almost nothing.
Ideas?

I have check out by battery is in good condition.
but still i have battery drain problems.
problems started the day one i flashed a rom.
and the battery draining problem is just due to display.
without display on data connection on, and full time in proper connectivity area:
with music playback i get approx. 10hrs
or with bluetooth 6hrs
or on call i got 5 hrs
this were my battery stats.
but with display on for just 1 hr without any use idealy on homescreen itself it.
so i needed to know were will i get to change the display settings as i was using the lowest brightness of the rom.
i needed to change other features of display were are they available.
it will thankful of you if you help.
Turn your contrast down, use a conservative kernel setting and apart from that, if its still really bad (after a few battery cycles) then its f+$%ked unfortunately.
The attached images should speak for themselves. My brightness settings are at their lowest, at least the one I could find is. But still the consumption is around 80%. I lost half of my battery in three hours.
This problem started after I flashed to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757272
I fear there is some hidden setting or something to fix this, as the screen should be a bit darker, but i have failed to find anything useful.
Edit: Got an app called "RootDim" and used it to set brightness to 1 but the screen still remains way too bright.
After I set my brightness level to lowest (non auto), about 4 hours later it displays medium bright. When I try to adjust the level, the meter has no affect to actual brightness. This starting occurring after I updated to 4.2.1. I've switched to the stock deoxed 4.2.1 also to the nightly and the same occurs. Is any one else getting this?

I'm getting the same behavior. This just started happening maybe a week ago. My phone just stops responding to changes in the brightness settings, and it doesn't matter if I try to change it in the power control widget or the actual manual brightness setting. A reboot corrects this, but it's pretty annoying. I'm still totally stock btw. (no root, unlocked bootloader)
Hello everyone,
I have been experiencing poor battery life on my nexus 4 from stock 4.3. As of now it is running the latest ParanoidAndroid 3.99 Rom with franco.Kernel-nightly-r182.zip. I use hspa 5 hrs a day, wifi, light browsing, and email, with automatic brightness to only getting 2 hours 15 minutes of screen time. Then I would need to charge the phone again. I do use trickster mod to lower maximum clock frequency to 12000mhz and have my location access turn on/off base off necessity, with Google Now turn off. So does any one know if there are better ways to improve my battery life? A new rom or kernel perhaps? Any insight on this issue is much appreciated.
Hi all.
I recently bought a first-generation Nexus 7 and am having some problems with charing/discharging/battery consumption. Right now, the problem appears to be that the device charges painfully slowly when the screen is turned on. The device has literally been plugged in to the factory wall charger (12V 2A) for more than 5 hours, and the battery level has increased from 70% (when it started) to 74%. During this time the screen has been turned on, brightness to the lowest setting, airplane mode on, and no apps whatsoever are running in the background.
However, it appears to charge at a normal speed when the screen is turned off.
I have also noticed that when apps are running (not battery intensive apps, either--basic web browser, maps, etc.) while the screen brightness is at 100%, the battery actually discharges when the device is plugged in.
It's rooted and running a cyanogenmod 4.4 ROM.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I have been testing with the screen turned on because I'm using this tablet for an application that requires the screen to always be on.
Anyone???
I too have this very same issue.... Just started a few days ago...
