I want to disable/remove daydream completely, I don't need nor want to use it. It doesn't seem to have an option to turn off completely, only delay up to 1 hour max.? I use an app 24/7 on this (thinkorswim) but yeah.. daydream gets in the way every hour and have to wake. Any clue? Hoping for a possible quick command line fix. Thanks
* Yes, I have sleep mode off in the dev settings, I just want to remove/disable daydream.
Kind of hilarious nobody has a clue how to disable a screensaver... Interesting issue
Menu Button -> Manage Apps -> Swipe to "All" -> Scroll to "Basic Daydreams" -> Tap on it -> Tap on the button on the top right "Disable" near the button "Force Stop" on the left.
You can uninstall using any app in the Google Play Store with the search key: "Root Uninstaller"
Since it´s a system-App you may encounter problems with daily usage of Android if it´s missing.

I have disabled the stock messaging app on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge as I have been using Textra instead.
However I now want to enable messages again but have found that its not showing in the disabled apps in the application manager.
I have followed these steps but as I said, there are no disabled apps showing. I'm running Android 7.0 and not rooted. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this please??
Launch the Settings Application.
Scroll Down and Tap on the 'Applications' Option.
Then Tap on the 'Application Manager' Option.
Tap the 'All Apps' Drop Down Menu.
Tap on the 'Disabled' Option.
Locate and Tap on the Application You Want to Enable.
Then Tap on the 'Enable' Button.
Did you disable it in the app manager, or using a third party tool like Package Disabler?

I have a few things for you to try
1.
Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > Advanced(top right)
You can either just turn off App Power Monitor (if you do ignore number 2.)
or if you want to use it still you can click on it and then click "put unused apps to sleep" and change the sleep delay.
2.
Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > Unmonitored Apps (scroll right down to the bottom to find it)
and add the apps you dont want it to monitor.
If none of this has worked for you its possible an option in devloper settings is enabled.
3.
Settings > About Phone > Software Information > Tap "build number" over and over untill Developer Mode is enabled
Then go to
Settings > Developer options (at the very bottom) > Make sure "Do not keep activities" is turned off and that "limit background processes" is set to standard.
Hope this helps :good:

Just swipe away the apps you want to close manually and leave the desired one there, close all will close all, there's no way to change that.

You can lock the apps and prevent them from closing. In the recent apps, there is a 3 dot menu in the top right corner. Tap it and you will see the option for locking apps.

I have this same problem. Trying to find a way to lock my Tile App. Turned off my battery saver so system wont close open apps. Tried everything i could think of and that is suggested
on line. Nothing works. Tile cant even help.
How do I do what you suggest?
How do I access the recent apps? Is it through the 3 line button at bottom of sceen where it shows small pages of everything open or somewhere else?
When I look there....the individual pages don't show the 3 dots.
Thank you for any help you can offer!

Hi,
What you mean "tap on tile app"? I can not find "allow background activity". Phone is galaxy s8, android pie.
Few days back a call recorder apk sent me there and I realize this option is not deleted from android. It just hidden, like stop FB updates.

See the gif I attached
Ok problem resolved.
There is three options to be set:
1) "Sleeping aps" - go to Settings and type in search bar on top "Sleeping aps"
I Add all apk except: AutoBlutooth, Button mapper, Call recorder, Weather widget, Email and messaging apk
2) "Optimize battery usage" - go to Settings and type in search bar on top "Optimize battery usage" Click again on top row "Optimize battery usage", Click on "App not optimized" and change to "All", find apk that make problem by sleeping.
I Disable :AutoBlutooth, Button mapper, Call recorder, ect. I do not add here email and messaging apk, as they never have sleeping issues. Maybe because not have 3day(default sleep setting) not using them in a row.
3) "Allow background activity" - go to Settings==>>Apps==>>Select application you want not to sleep==>>Battery==>>Allow background activity
It will be set to Enable to all apk, that are not added to "Sleeping aps"
Additional step:
"Device admin apps" - If Application is already here, can give Admin status. It will prevent accidental change of "Optimize battery usage" and "Allow background activity"
p.s
This why my messaging apps have Enabled Allow background activity and Optimise battery usage.
Button mapper, Call recorder ect have Enabled Allow background activity and Disabled Optimise battery usage
I enabled the following settings I found in a post to see if I can boost my SoT:
"After installing from playstore ,Activate greenify module in xposed installer app and reboot, then follow these settings-
1 - Goto greenify> settings > Aggressive doze > activate ( Activate notifications also, if you want to know for how much time the device has gone into doze mode)
2- Enable Wake-up Tracker > enable "advanced wake-up cut-off'
3- Enable automatic hibernation and quick action notification
4- Xposed based features > enable 'doze on the go' and 'wakeup time Coalescing' ( you can also enable "don't remove notifications")
5- now add apps to greenify by tapping on '+' add all the GCM( google cloud messaging ) apps and bulky apps and games such as facebook , PUBG etc"
I am not 100% sure that this caused it but now every 5-10 minutes or so my screen wakes up for no reason continuously throughout the day. I installed a wakelock detector and it says chrome and google news are doing it but it's not always the same culprits.
Is there a workaround to this? It's very annoying and I've disabled wake up notifications obviously so it's not owed to that. Thanks in advance.
bump!
Are you shure Greenify is configured for "root mode" ?
Yes greenify is set to root mode.
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...es-navigation-oneplus-5-5t-android-10-update/
This is present on the 8 Pro too, but back also trigger home in my case ?
Does anyone know why and how to fix?
Same for me love the old one plus gesture of swiping up from the corners to go back, and this edit using the app in the article brings that back, but correct when you swipe up from corner instead of taking you back to the previous page in an app etc ,it just takes you straight to home screen .
It seems both OP gestures and a10 gestures are on simultaneously. There should be a way to disable a10 ones
I got it fully working on my 8 Pro I just need the assistant disabled it keeps popping up when I go back. I asked on the other thread (themes and apps) of the 2 button gestures control got no reply it's been a fews days. If after you set it in the app to activate then in settings, and buttons and gestures you should just see the how to on the bottom of the screen with no option to pick it but there activated

Disable assistant on settings
---------- Post added at 12:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:13 PM ----------
Settings>apps& notification>default apps>assist & voice input>assist app> none
I wasn't able to disable Assistant as I have no option other than Google in the Assist & Voice input.
I found a way to disable the Assistant with the following adb command:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure assistant 0
This will remove the assistant gesture completely.
The only problem, that the setting resets after restart.
Another possible solution is to install Tasker from the Play Store and start it up.
Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Default apps > Assist & voice input > Assist app. Select Tasker and click OK.
Perform the assistant gesture and click "Stop Reminding".
Open Tasker again and in the menu on the top right just select Disable Tasker.

You can disable it through settings. Unsure of exactly where the setting is, but in settings, search for default assist.
Is it just me that despite all this tricks still ends up home when swiping for back on the right hand side?
I manage to only go back, but for that to work I need to swipe aaaal the way to the right (like on the curved part), and still there it triggers the to lines coming in from the sides and meeting up in the middle. I think this is something like a animation for the assistant.
I didn't know I was able to disable it (Google Assistant). thank you very much. Done and back to stock OnePlus gestures control. ? Much appreciated

And this option (none) as it is shown on the picture isn't shown to me. There are only Google Assistant, Firefox and a third app to choose but the option"none"is not offered. So it seems I am unable to disable the Assistant to get back the OnePlus gestures. Someone has any advice how to get it disabled?
If you follow my post to change it via the command of just change it to use Tasker, it'll work.
I don't have to option to select nothing either, but with the ADB command, you can force it, until a restart and this method will disable the gesture completely. If you decide to use tasker, the gesture will stay there, so you'll see the lines going from the corners towards the middle, but no action to8 be performed.

Yeah I have the same problem in apps and notifications / default apps./ Assist. On previous devices this is where I disabled the assistant, but the option none isn't here. The one found if searching for "default assist" is somewhere else, I think somewhere in Google settings as the background color changes to a lighter one.

Hello, is this still possible with the new Android 11 update? I just tried the op_gesture_button_side_enabled and it only sort of works, I can disable google assistant with adb however swipe up from the bottom side triggers both back and home action now.. Anyone solved this problem?
