SMS fail to send on CM13 (N9005) - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have tried both Morningstar and Temaseks CM13 releases (latest version) and everything works fine, incl sms. BUT as soon i sync/add my exchange email account SMS just stop working. I have not been able to verify if I can recieve messages.
I havnt been able to find a solution or a similar problem when searching here on XDA or google it.
I hope some knows how to remedy this. FYI it works just fine in CM12.1 nightly releases

Which Note 3 do you have EXACTLY? N9005? N900*?

Oh sorry, im using N9005.
Recieving texts seem to be working but not send

Hm, works for me. I use Hangouts as app.

Seem to work for now, at least responding to a text
Edit: works now as intended so started to use Temasek CM13 2.9 as dd

sending texts issue

Hi guys,
I have I9500 and whenever I install MIUI or any CM based rom, I am not able to send text messages but I can receive them
I can make and receive calls fine
I have made sure that the messages centre number is correct however the problem persists
when I use an official firmware based rom it works fine however on miui and all cm roms i always get message not sent immediately.

CM12 SMS bug Fix!

Hi I've discovered a fix and I just want to share it with you all.
I'm not sure if this has already been posted though,
I'm on a GPE running CM12 that couldn't send SMS but now works after installing Donkey Kernel perfectly. I'm not sure what the reason is for this but I'll link the Kernel
Thanks, DonkeyKang. It's discontinued but the latest version works fine, no errors.

[Q] problems with custom roms s4 l720

phone: sprint sph-l720
Rooted: cf auto root
Unlocked: s4 unlocker
Problem: started after i flashed my first rom cm 11 through the installer from cynogen mod. I was un able to make calls with any sound or recieve any calls at all and could recieve texts but not send them.
Things that I have Tried: I have flashed cm 10.2, cm 12 from antares nightly, pac-rom, l720 od2 stock rooted rom 5.0.1 that has random black screen problem and the dialer keeps crashing. I have used cwm recovery and twrp from the antares thread.
my question: what is the common problem with my device that could be causing all of these same types of glitches? For this to happen across all the roms that iv flashed so far, and how can i fix it?
ps. problems occur in any number of combinations(depending on the rom) but seem to the be same basic issues ie: no audio, no wifi, cant receive texts, cant send texts or both, cant make calls or receive calls or calls made have no sound.(i am using gsm based movistar.cl network for sim) any help would be great ty.

Have you tried any touch-wiz custom roms? My phone HATES AOKP/SP/CM dialer.apk's. It just doesn't work, plain and simple. You may be screwed forever so long as you have your current motherboard. I have tried everytime a got a radio or bootloader update, and no dice. Same thing. Happens exactly like your problem. That same motherboard just bit the dust out of the blue. Maybe the failure is related to the intolerance to the CM-family of ROMs? I don't know. I have a new one I'm just trying to remember how to root again. I will let you know if the new motherboard likes CM-based ROM's or if I'm still stuck with touch-wiz.
i have almost the same problem
I am experiencing the same problem. I can receive text and sent text messages but I can't receive calls. I can make calls but I Can not drop the call. even if I press the end, I just got stuck up on hanging up screen. then it just keeps calling. can anybody here help me how to fix this????
I am using sprint Samsung L720.

What ROMs and carriers have you been using? AFAIK, most if not all AOSP-based ROMs does not cater to GSM carriers out of the box - you need to replace some RIL lib files for the problems to disappear, but then it won't work with CDMA carriers. I have the libs for CM12.1 but not other ROMs...

This is why I always modify the stock ROM slightly or find a ROM that is slightly modified because of ISSUES ISSUES ISSUES! I understand that these people really do put a lot of time and effort into these ROM's but most of the time they have too many bugs. I am using the stock OH1 (5.01) ROM with root, hotspot hack, font changer and a icon changer and it works great!

I'll only be able to pull off the trick for ROMs that have both a CDMA version (for Sprint variant) and a GSM version (for ATT/TMo variant), so that I can compare the libs and pull out necessary ones for flashing. Also, I have only used CM12.1 to this moment.
I'll attach my fixes for CM12.1 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2927776 (check last page), but DO NOT flash these on any othet ROMs. This is just for when you want to try things out with CM12.1.

N910V - Can't receive SMS/MMS messages on NSeven v4 w/ RamKernel RC6

I installed RamKernel RC6 (for N910V) along with NSeven v4. Everything seems to be working great, except I cannot receive SMS or MMS messages. Sending works fine, as does sending and receiving calls. The same happens with NSeven v2 and the kernel included with NSeven in both versions have SMS working fine. I also tried RamKernel 8 with the same results. (Incidentally, the exact same problem happens with Modest kernel, the only other Kernel I know that works with N7 ports that passes SafetyNet.)
I know it's not my SIM card, I tested that by moving it into a different phone and it worked fine. Similarly, putting someone else's SIM in my phone resulted in not getting SMS messages sent to them. I updated my modem to the latest available and also tried using the one specified by NSeven's thread (CQB2).
Has anyone else had similar issues? I'm kinda at my wits end about what else to try to fix the issue or if I even can...

Unable to sms/call

Running Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 on my g900v, and I'm unable to send or receive any sms or calls, but am able to send mms and use data. The problem only is when I'm running a non-touchwiz rom, so any asop or los based rom. Sms and calls work fine on touchwiz. I've tried multiple roms ranging from 5.0-7.1 to no success, same goes for old back up from when sms worked on non-touchwiz. I've flashed new modems and that multiple times checked and reentered the apns and, checked the smsc, all of which are the same as on touchwiz. Also tried different messaging apps. So far nothing has worked and I'm starting to run out of ideas.

Wonder if you're having the same problem I was....I could select "CDMA/LTE" or a few others and get 4g data, but no service, or I could go to Global or CDMA+-x and get voice, text, and data all at 3g. I was new to rooting and unlocking, but I mastered it with how many different variations I tried. Nothing would work above MM giving me 4g data and voice/text.
I did, however, just update to the QL2 update sucessfully, bootloader is still unlocked, so I'm about to NAND and go buck wild see if I can finally get this working tonight. Just curious if anyone else experienced it cause all the solutions online seem geared towards either GSM, or don't replicate the problem quite precisely as the vzwklte
