okay that's going to be a problem, confirm that in regular operation or in recovery that you have adb access
likely you need to work in recovery adb
make a new directory on your pc that you will work in,
connect via adb,
adb shell mount -o rw /data
or
adb shell mount /data
if you succeed
adb pull /data/.
if you can't read a file or directory then adb will skip,
alternately you can try to pull the actual block device partition, provided you know the number
so
adb pull /dev/block/<block-id-goes-here>
with your device unrooted and debug mode not enabled in regular operation you don't have many options,
last you can try, again from adb while in recovery,
adb shell mount /data
adb shell rm /data/system/*.key

will this work without debbuging mode enabled? is rooting and cwm rec. an option for removing password?

If you can to go to download mode flash custom recovery via Odin . Then go to recovery and wipe factory reset . Dont worry your files from internal memory will be save .

will all files and apps also be safe? have you got a custom recovery for this model for odin?

@sabankuru
What are device specs ? and if you have it, upload the stock recovery.img

Bricked Note 3 - Now I need help!

Hello, I followed the root guide in this forum, it was successful, then I tried to change the LCD density to 240 and the mobile refused to boot!!
I am downloading a firmware from sammobile.com but still have no idea how to do it! should I use Odin or Kies?
Switch off your Note 3.
Put it in Download Mode (Home Button + VolDown + Power), then press VolUp to confirm.
Plug USB cable to Note 3 and computer.
Start Odin, on the left, you'll see a yellow square with "Com.xx", that's confirm your Note 3 is recognized by Odin.
Extract the archive you dlded from Sammobile, Samfirmware... You must have now a .tar or .tar.md5 file
Put it in the PDA field of Odin
Press Start
Wait until reboot
:good:
why not just flash a pre rooted rom in the dev section. You already have cwm. Can you get to cwm?
Edit
or do what luminouche says. You'll probably have to root again though. Not a big deal.
Thanks everyone! It is back to life now, but I will probably try again with the Screen Density thing.. I cannot stand the 480dpi
I think its very hard to brick a galaxy phone.

mine is stuck on samsung logo after boot. I can still access the cwm recovery.
Anything I can do or I have to flash the rom again. And will I lose my data ?
How does it happened? have you flashed anything?
Any way you can reflash ROM, flashing stock ROM won't erase data.

Try this by using a fat32 micro sdcard.
1. Copy restore to the sd card
2. Insert sd card in phone
3. In CWM flash the restore.
if that doesn't work you will probably have to flash your firmware again.

I think better to have a look to script of estore zip, what restore file does do. bcoz if that packed with some files which is not from this device than it won't work. If previous file which he flashed have script to make backup and restore.zip have script to restore same thing then only it will work.

This is the thread from where I got that animation zip file.
And I rooted by following the steps in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2460720
Yes I am from India. Delhi to be exact. I just don't want to lose data as I spent a lot of time customizing the phone.
Ok good news is that you can restore fom that zip, bad news is you need SD card, if you can manage that then it's easy.
otherwise
If you knoe adb, you can push file with to sdcard with adb command.
OR
simply flash stock ROM, that won't erase your data but you need to reroot.
Do you have internet access on PC?

and do you have samsung driver/kies installed?
Anyway i assume you have driver installed bcoz you have rooted already and if device is N900 then proceed this way.

Okay I got my phone working. I used adb pusher app , found it on xda. Simple to use.
But now my wifi is not working. Its stuck on turning on.
I did a little searching , the issue was solved by flashing a custom kernel.
Can I do that on a stock rom like mine. And which kernel will work with note 3?
There is no custom kernel available in my knowledge on your device.
Make backup and try wiping device otherwise flash stock rom.
And don't flash any other device component on your, you may soft brick your device.

Accidentally wiped OS from phone

I accidentally wiped my OS from my phone when I wasn't paying attention. All recoveries wiped as well. It will not boot past startup screen. Odin v3.07 and 3.09 both display FAIL when I try to flash the stock ROM back. I am using a G900P. Help?
How do you accidentally wipe an OS from a phone?
You're putting the phone in download mode for ODIN right?

Try this

If you're putting your phone into Download Mode you should be able to flash a custom recovery onto it (such as TWRP - the one I personally use.)
Try flashing that onto your device then flash a ROM through TWRP - You can mount your phone and SD card onto a PC through this, allowing for you to access the devices file system here.
Then, if you really wanted to, you can go through Samsung Kies on your PC and restore back to the original TouchWiz ROM from Samsung. It'll ask you to verify your device and ask you to put it into download mode but not sure if you'd want to go back to stock.
If you need any more help, just ask here and I'll give you a hand.

It's quite basic, you simply just go into TWRP and select what you want to be mounted to the computer from the custom recovery. If you need more help here, just let me know.

TWRP 3.0.2-1. for the Samsung Galaxy A9 pro SM-A910F - Qualcomm MSM8976

OK, twrp cannot mount data or storage at the moment because your device has encryption enabled and TWRP does not support Samsung encryption at the moment.
To mount data and storage data needs to formatted to remove encryption and a custom boot.img used to disable forced encryption.

Yes It works fine now, even after reboot there is full access! I can now mount Data partition in twrp!
I get my paycheck tomorrow, so beer is incoming!
But there are some issues now in OS, most probably because the boot.img is for A910F and I'm on A9100... The navigation keys does not light up and is not working, also it will not turn on wifi even though I flip the switch. But finally some developer is taking the time for A9!

Just sayin bro...
And btw some things just dont work well without a PC. Even though it might be possible to work around it you might just wanna do this on a computer with these commands in adb:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
and
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
and then reboot

Why would you want cwm? TWRP is way better. Oh and your recovery is gone. You can be lucky that you didn't brick your phone. Next time, use TWRP instead and ONLY if you have the ability to restore everything with a PC. ONLY make such hard modifications to your phone if you have a PC nearby

Ok, I suspect something may be wrong with your root or TWRP or ROM, which may be the reason for the odd problems.
So do check & confirm root anyway, & also tell us the versions of your TWRP & ROM (latter in Settings > About phone > Build number).

Ok, I suspect something may be wrong with your root or TWRP or ROM, which may be the reason for the odd problems.

Im on sakoban's rom. B564

Unable to switch on phone (maybe it got bricked)

Hi guys. Today after flashing twrp using Odin everything was fine. I went to the recovery mode to see whether it was properly flashed. It was installed properly and on exiting I saw that it it showed that my phone is not rooted and and I need to swipe to install it (though my phone was already rooted and supersu installed) . I switched on my phone and uninstalled supersu. Then I again went to the recovery mode and I swiped on the option to install supersu. But when the process was going on it somehow stopped (maybe I did it without my knowledge). Now I am not able to switch on my phone (I think it got bricked). ??? If I try to switch on it gets stuck in the Samsung icon and restarts from there again
What will I do now?
I had faced this problem.
Flash this file in recovery mode.
Go here and download That update file...
link is https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63615067&postcount=2459
Now go to recovery mode, connect usb and copy this file to you phone (sdcard or any).
Now flash that file and reboot phone.
Always click do not install when twrp says super su is not installed.

Thanks a lot bro...it worked?
But I did a factory reset when I was not able to switch on my phone. So is my phone still rooted? I have no apps left as I did a factory reset
