Hello everyone,
I am running CyanogenMod 10 (Android 4.1.2) from Tezet. The exact version number is 10-20121228-NIGHTLY-milestone2.
I just switched to the French operator Free Mobile. They offer access to their "FreeWifi_secure" wifi network in the plan. The authentication method is known as EAP-SIM ; it connects using information in the SIM card. However, this option is not given when you try to connect using the "Settings" app in Android.
So I tried to connect to the FreeWifi_secure wifi by modifying the following file :
Code:
/data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
This method is explained on another thread of XDA : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660397. I managed to follow the instructions but still cannot connect to the wifi network. FreeWifi_secure is correctly displayed as a favorite network, however, when trying to connect, it never goes past the "Connecting…" step.
Do you know whether the Milestone 2 is hardwarewise compatible with EAP-SIM ? Or is the incompatibility due to a limitation in CyanogenMod ? Have you personally managed to use the Free Mobile wifi network ?
Thanks a lot !
I contacted Motorola's customer support and they told me that none of their phones were compatible with EAP-SIM, unfortunately.
Hello friends, I wonder how I can share internet via Wi-Fi using a VPN connection on Android 5.1.1.
Currently I have one XT1045 Moto G LTE Android 5.1.1 Lollipop (Cyanogenmod 12.1) and connection VPN using OpenVPN.
Greetings from Paraguay [emoji16]
If your mobile is rooted you can use "tethernet" app .. Get it from google play .
So if not You have to use a laptop or pc with wifi adaptor .. Using PDA net + app for android and pc .. Tether the connection over usb .. Right click on pdanet pc version you will see share wifi option ..
I use the last way to share the free internet to my devices
I hope it helps you
After updating to the new Marshmallow release for the S5 I am no longer able to access the Service Menu via *#0011* then entering Q and 0000's. I use it to do a band selection for LTE only. Has Samsung killed access to the Service Menu? Anyone know now to access it? Thanks!
I am joining to the question. Anyone can help?

Do a quick google search for galaxy tools gt3.18. It has an option to get to the hiddenservicemenu in there (and yes, i typed that without spaces on purpose as thats how its shown in the app). Id provide a link, but the dev asked to not host it. Its still out there and can be found easily. Thatll get you both fixed up

Hello,
What is your model used of Samsung Note 3 and the rom.
EAP AKA is possible by manually adding the WIFI network information or software.
I connect my SM N9005, compatible of course, with EAP Sim without problem on the french network provider as well as their Android application.
This is on the international version of the OP8Pro and NA Rom, so any Chinese VPN blocking code should not be implemented on this Rom. But I suspect there are some code left over from the Chinese Rom that detects and kills VPN. Does anyone have the same problem with VPN? Anyone with custom Rom that has a stable VPN connection? Thanks.
