Hi All,
Wonder if you can help - When I browse to youtube it defaults to the mobile view, which is fine - When I select the video I want to watch it opens up the stream in the "streaming media" application. It seems to buffer correctly but when playing back, the video quality is terrible, very jumpy, very blocky and the sound isnt too great either.
Is there anyway to solve this? I have tried installing the flash cab and viewing the videos normally on the youtube page, but it doesnt display the youtube vids. I have also tried to install the HTC youtube app, but it breaks my video playback - It works if I install the full htc hd manilla cab but then my phone really lags in file explorer when viewing the windows directories etc..
Is there something I am doing wrong?
Craig
Try CorePlayer, the quality is much better, but the app is not free.
Just noticed today that when I play back videos I recorded on the HD that the "expand" button to make the video fullscreen has no effect. Then immediately went into the youtube app to test it there and same thing. Again cannot change the orientation. Seems to stuck the way it is.
Can anyone suggest anything?! Thank you for any help!
It seems that half of the videos I take with my N4 give me the "cannot be played" error message when I try to view them on the phone. Then, when I try to view them on a computer, the video cannot be rendered by VLC and has a length of 0:00 despite being the size that a video file would be.
This happens with both the default camera app and others I have used. I am on the stock ROM and have not modified it in any way.
Anyone else have this problem?
download a video player like the mx player from the play store and try
The video can't even be rendered on a PC or the native player so I don't think the player is the issue. Moreover, my issue is that I want to be able to watch them on a PC and VLC will play just about anything that isn't totally broken.
I am having some trouble with videos after the recent BlackBerry camera update. Everything time I take a video, it records and saves fine but when I try to play the video back, using any different video player it just looks like a green jumbled mess. It does this on the regular gallery, QuickPic and even Instagram. See the screenshot below.

Are you using MX Player to play videos by any chance?
I am not. And I discovered that it also does it on other people's instragram videos and snapchat stories so it must be a playback or codec issues

I have some music videos and I use MX Player to play them. In decoder settings of that app, there was HW+ option which I would enable on every phone that I had, but on Priv I had to select HW instead because videos came out green and distorted.

I'll see what happens when I use it. I hope this stuff will be fixed in an update.
Edit: I'm an idiot and I had AwesomePlayer enabled in developer settings. Using NuPlayer fixed it.
I recently recorded some videos in 4K 60fps. Whenever I try to trim them, the editor closes directly with a message "Cannot edit this video". It's working fine for the videos shot in 1080p though. Is anyone else facing the same problem?
Just tried it and same problem too
Same problem here too. Recently recorded a 5 min [email protected] and the stock gallery app doesn't let me edit/trim the video. Haven't tried other options yet.
Are you able to do it with third party apps?
