i got a friend who has the lg g pad through Verizon. it is running lollipop 5.0.2. is there a root method for this tablet

I rooted mine using KingRoot. However, I am having issues installing the latest nightlies for CM13. I can' get around unlocking my bootloader.

Hello I rooted my LGG2 the day I got it months ago but recently dropped and broke the digitizer. I had to order a new one and came with the 4.4.2 update running the VS98024A build number. All root methods I have looked up are for the VS90812B and previous builds. I have used the ioroot method and and the root put out by "thecubed" in the past but neither has an updated version for my current build #.
Anyone out there able to help me appreciate it going nuts with all this god forsaken LG and Verizon Bloatware.

Hey guys. Just got a G2 and I haven't really messed around with rooting or custom roms in a few years. I was wondering if it's possible to root and load a custom on this phone? I just got one earlier today, it has the latest OTA and it seems like a good phone so far. Is there a definitive guide or thread somewhere? I took a look and I'm not fully understanding all the terminology. Thanks!

I want to root my G2 and I'm looking through applications/scripts for it and I want to ask with what do I root it?
I have SRK and DP tools, they both offer rooting through ADB, DP tools offer unrooting also.
What are other good options?
And one big question, If I unroot, can I update to stock lolipop OTA?

I recently bought a an unlocked variant of the Verizon G2 and I can't seem to root it. I've tried using ioroot and towelroot. Using ioroot I get to a black screen the the device saying no command and on towelroot it just says it isn't compatible. Any help? I'm on 4.4.2
You need to use LG flash tool from 2014 to go back down to Kit Kats then root and then upgrade to lollipop. It also depends on what bootloader you have
noob to LG Here. Question Does the V# matter when trying to root this device. I am currently on LS997ZV8. I am familiar with root, just not on LG DEVICES. I MISS IT
Yes it does matter. In recent firmware versions, LG has patched the exploit that was being used by Dirty Santa. There is currently no root method available for ZV8.
