Hi all,
I recently received the B325 and B326 after a while (Android Marshmallow) update via OTA.
Everything works fine, except the Google contacts sync.
I tried to update the app of Google Contacts to 6.0 but no luck.
I also tried to remove and reinstall Google play services, but no luck as well.
It's just me or someone else have the same issue?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you.

Glad to know I'm not alone
No sorry, I have no workaround for now on tap.
Another guy says he's using Google Contacts v. 0.5 (the old one, not updated with hi-app and works perfectly)
We should try with an older apk of Google Contacts, but make no sense.
There is a new B326 - Installed but I still have the problem.
I do not have any trouble.
I am installing this way:
1. Downloading and installing the Google Play Store, Google Calendar Sync and Google Contact Sync with HiApp.
2. I opened the Google Play Store and I set google account - then turn off the Google Play Store.
3. Go to Settings - Apps:
**** a) the Google Play Store - Storage - and clear data and cache;
**** b) the Google Play services - Storage - (clear cache) - Manage space - clear all data;
**** c) the Google Calendar Sync - storage (and clear data and cache) - Permission (Calendar on) - Set individual permission - check the Trust this application;
**** d) the Google Contact Sync - storage (and clear data and cache) - Permission (Contacts on) - Set individual permission - check the Trust this application.
4. Ponownie open the Google Play Store and accept the Google Play Terms of Service.
5. Restart the phone.
6. Go to Settings - Accounts - Google - and sync now.
That's all.
Thank you, in your way works!
Before I never tried c) and d) point (didn't knew about them)
Thanks a bunch!

Anyone has any issue with Google Contact Sync? It says "sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly".
Several methods I've tried before:
1. Delete the Google account and add again
2. Clear data from "Contacts Storage"
3. Enable all google related services that I have disabled before (Google Newstand, Google Book and etc)
It seems that I can only download the contacts the first time I add the account, but any edit I make on the phone won't sync back to Google.
Can't find any other new method from Google result...

Go to contacts (not with phone but contact app) go to settings then account and see if Google is there
Yes it is there, along with other stuff like Whatsapp, Samsung, Facebook etc. I have tried removing Google, re-add again, and then tweak one contact on my phone, and then go back to the setting > account > google to check, and there it is, "sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly" on the Contact part..
I was wondering if you got anywhere on this when you had the issue? I am having a similar problem.
Hey there... I had a Samsung Galaxy S3... so I decided to buy the S4 at a very reasonable price. It came to me yesterday.
So excited...!
When I started configuring the device, my nightmare began.
Preliminaries:
- Firmware was upgraded to 4.3 and no other updates are available.
- I don't want to root my phone (not yet).
Problem:
I can't login to my google account: I keep getting the message:
Sync Error.
"Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly".
Specifically I can't sync Contacts and Gmail and Picasa (couldn't care less about this one).
What I have done so far not exactly by this order:
- Cleared cache of Contacts and Contacts storage;
- Went to my Gmail via web and exported and deleted all contacts;
- Factory reset;
- Tried the Samsung Contacts Fix;
- Deleted and added the Google account (like 223 times);
- Removed all application passwords from Google verification;
- Downgraded all Google applications and Google services;
- Checked out time and date on the device;
- Went through the Google troubleshooting process.
To no avail.Sometimes I get the ok for the Google contacts but no contacts show up.
Now I can't go anywhere from here... No contacts, Not able to use Google Play...
What a complete turn-off...
Any genius out there with a solution to my case?
Thanks a bunch!

SOLVED: All you have to do is to turn off 2-step verification on your google acccount, remove it from your phone and voilà. :laugh:
I was running on a Nexus 4 and I just bought a Galaxy S 5 Gold and I'm so excited. Unfortunately, I'm having two major problems.
1- update could not be downloaded due to an error 920 [when updating the existing apps on phone like Dropbox or Chrome!]
2- Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly. [For my gmail account that has my contacts/calendar/drive/keep]
I've searched all over the web and tried everything. I tried:
1- Turn off Wifi, Turn on Wifi
2- Clear Cache - Clear data from Google Play Store app
3- Reboot
4- Reset phone (Twice!) and try again.
and nothing is working. I noticed that if I turn of the WiFi and try to update using the 3G connection, it works properly. The error only appears when I'm connected to WiFi. Keep in mind that I can browse and use the internet normally so the phone is indeed connected to the internet when connected to WiFi.
I'm literally close to tears. Any kind of help will be appreciated !!
Try to clean cache, then remove Google account, re-enable Google account and this should do it. Worked for me.

Hi everyone,
i received my mate 8 (NXT-AL-10) with google play store installed. everything seem to be working well but i noticed in the phone settings/Apps that some google service apps are missing (google services framework, google account manager, google backup transport , google partner set up and many more...).
so my questions are:
- what is google services framework for? do i need it?
- what is google account manager for? do i need it too?
and what about the others? backup transport, partner set up.. are they all needed ?
can someone provide a list of all google apps and services that are installed and needed as it is on the international version?
thanks very much for helping

I think all these things are marshmallow permission issues
Go into settings, permission manager, select apps and add permissions to contact sync and calendar
Martyn
hi Martyn,
thanks for that.. i did all this but the problem persist. it looks like the problem is the doze as it is for notifications. it doesn't sync automatically every time. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Calendar not show Google Account. No Calendar Sync on Settengs->Accounts (China ROM)
Hello. Anybody here also has problem with showing google account on Calendar?
Already installed the official Google Calendar app but it also only shows "local account" on the calendar account settings.
I already did almost all the clearing, uninstalling, and restarting stuff I found after searching but still the issue exists.
All other Google services (Contacts, Maps, Drive, Keep) are working/syncing okay except the Calendar.
Would appreciate any ideas.
My Google Calendar {option does not even appear}
This is the same issue for me with the JOYUI rom.
When I look into permission manager or battery management, I always allow "googleCalendarSync" and all other google services to be check. Especially for autostart features. However, I just can't seem to get the calendars to sync. When I look it over under accounts> google> calendar does not appear at all. I have contacts, play services etc but not for calendar? Does anyone know what is wrong with it ? or has a fix assuming its googleCalendarSync issue?

You have a Chinese version that does not support Google sync!
Anyone solved tbis issue?
Hmm.. Never had that problem with mine. I'm not sure if this would help, but try installing a Google Contact Sync app. I forgot if this was something I installed separately after having Google Play.

Did you manully install Google Apps or you use the Google Apps Installer from the Mi Store?
Finally, I got it working! I've uninstalled the Google Calendar Sync that has been installed by the Google Installer for Mi devices and voila, it now syncs! That Google Calendar Sync is the culprit! LOL. I wish I've done it months ago.

Hey guys! Eyes here!
1. Uninstall any existing installed Google Calendar Sync in the "Manage App".
2. Install Google Calendar. Allow all permissions.
3. Download and install the latest Google Calendar Sync by searching for the apk on Google. Mine was (as of writing).
Google Calendar Sync 6.0.44-267540251-release
4. Install the apk. In the app settings, enable "Autostart" and other permissions necessary in the "Manage App" in Settings.
5. In "Accounts & Sync" > "Google" > make sure that "Calendar" and "Google Calendar" are all checked.
6. Restart your phone for good practice and make sure everything is working.
7. Done.

Can you please explain to me exactly what have I to do with my phone? I don't understand what is "Google Calendar Sync" and how can I remove it. I looked for some information and I couldn't find anything. My phone (OnePlus Nord 2) doesn't allow me to uninstall Google Calendar. Only the updates.
Thanks a lot.
EDIT: I finally could uninstall Google Calendar using ADB but when I install it again I continue owning the "Local Account"
