Hello struq and Kayant,
congratulations on this excellent ROM.
For me it is after many attempts with CM11 a surprise how stable and fast our Defy + can run under KitKat, even though both ROMs run on the same kernel.
Now a few more translations into German and the ROM would be perfect.
Please continue developing this ROM.
regards
Defy_Duke
Great OmniRom
It is definitely a great KitKat rom: fast and stable :good:
Thank you!
Thank you for new relase of the OmniROM.
I have only two problems:
1. No TWRP Recovery boot function (i have fix it with your ramdisk-recovery file )
2. OmniSwitch not working
the rest works fine, stable and fast.
greets
About the Question
I also noticed no deep sleep with wifi connected, do you have this too?

For me the deep sleep works fine.
Very fluid
Well this is one of the ROMs I kept longer since was so fluid but I don't know why is not updated?
Anyway super rom.
Yes, OmniROM is a super ROM for the Defy.
There is a newer Version out (20140228), but this has an big bug in TWRP recovery boot, so is better not install this version.
I think struq is work on next version of OmniROM. :good:
well is it better than quarx ?
It has the same Kernel from Quarx and Blechdose, but struq has only stable versions of the kernelcode in his Rom.
For me is the Omnirom much more smoother and stable as CM11.
Omni for Defy March 8th version / Google Play problem
I've installed the new Omni version this morning and it is very nice! Performance of my Defy is acceptable.
I had one problem since I had a working internet connection but couldn't access Google Play. After installing 2-27_GApps_Minimal_4.4.2_signed.zip the problem was solved.
Many thanks for this ROM! Now I can use the same environment on my Nexus 7, I9305 and my old Defy.
Klaus
Thank you struq for the new version.
TWRP works fine now, no bootloops and start in TWRP works.
Works perfect for me.
Wow, i have never threy a better ROM on my Defy+.
I hope that i now have 10 post and can answer in dev. threat.
Thank you all for your awesome work.
I installed omni-4.4.2-20140308-mb526-TEST.zip and had some issues at first:
-after a dirty flash over the version 20140202, supersu (flashed via twrp) was not working
-clean flash: same error as Post #159 in original thread:
status bar, lock screen, etc doesn't appear ie system ui doesn't start

-another clean flash worked fine but no usb mass storage, only mtp/ptp (I am almost certain that I had us mass storage on 20140202)
did not yet try to enable it via terminal emulator
(since I am a forum newbie, I can't post in the dev-threat)
I think me have since KitKat only MTP/PTP
Fine that the new OmniROM now works on your phone.
Yeah youre right. Went back to build 20140202 since I had some charging issues and there is only MTP/PTP too.
Maybe it was just a dream
But will stay on this one for now, feels more stable...

Just installed the March 11th version. Google Play now works out-of-the-box.
Nice ROM, thank you!
Klaus
What are the main differences between Quarx's CM11 and OmniRom? (...an SlimKat??) :silly:.
newer version possible
Is there maybe a chance for a new version which incorporates latest Quarx's & Omni changes?
Would be great!
Just released for the Nexus devices, so expect some of the (still) supported AOSP roms to roll this out by end-of-month - if not sooner. Please don't use this as an excuse to spam threads asking for ETA's, as all 4.4.3 discussion can go here until those respective threads go live.
Thank you.

any stable 4.4.3 version released? i flashed 4.4.3 slimsaber before and the random restarts kinda turn me off. I'm back to 4.3.1 and it's rock stable

Did you do a full device reset? I usually dirty flash until 4.4.2 latest release, then fully wiped clean my device before jumping on 4.4.3.
4.4.3 Really looks great

I'm thinking about install CM11 M7 on my s2, what do you guys think about it? Bugs and something like that?
CM11 M7 works flawlessly... but:
- there is no default ringtone so if u wiped your /data you will hear silence when someone calls u
- there is no kernel with working usb-otg nor usb-hdmi around for this release, but DorimanX team is looking on to that.
- CM's gapps not working (not ready for 4.4.3 obviously), use pa_gapps (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942) - in my case only micro was small enough to fit with that new huge CM
- that kitkat /storage/sdcard0 read-only issue makes lot of apps to just crash !!
Besides above it works pretty well. Wifi stable, hsdpa stable, calls/sms fine, browser fine. Can't find anything more not WAI.
At this time I'd suggest NOT flashing DorimanX on newest CM 11 M7.
If u wiped /data partition you have to recreate some default structures (eg. DCIM or camera and gallery won't work).
A temporary Xposed fix for part of Lollipop 5.0.x memory leak issues has just been released by tonyp.
It might be interesting for those of you running Lollipop ROMs and being annoyed by this issue.
According to tonyp, the Android 5.1 fix has already been implemented in CM12 for two weeks, so for those running CM12 nightlies there is no need to use this fix. The fix should therefore also be present in new versions of Lollipop CM12-based ROMs, but until then it could be a relief.
So feel free to test it and tell us if it shows improvements!
The only S5 Kitkat ROMs I've found either haven't been updated in over a year, or many users are reporting severe bugs like no camera support, or severe battery drain issues.
I'm just trying to get an app called Winulator running so I can play Starcraft: Broodwar on android, but it isn't working and one user said that is because Lolipop broke it (I'm on 5.1.1 atm). The app is no longer supported so I don't think it will ever run properly on 5.x. If anyone knows of a way to emulate 4.x for just 1 app maybe that would be the best shortcut for me overall here.
Barring that, could someone please recommend a guide to installing a lightweight, power-user-oriented ROM that is 4.x or older and has excellent battery life? I was going to try the official 4.4.4 VanirAOSP release but there are too many reports of poor battery performance in the last 2 pages of that thread for my liking.
I think the first thing I need to do is unlock the bootloader, and I've yet to find a definite answer on the best method of doing this from FOL1 (12/15). It seems I will need Odin on my PC and I have it. I've also started backing up all the data from my phone by manually copying/pasting to my PC.
I guess once everything is finally backed up (it's taking FOREVER, explorer literally been calculating time to copy for 10 minutes now just on the phone/android folder), then I will try and flash the official 4.4.2 VanirAOSP ROM since that one doesn't have any reports of battery issues and possibly only the camera and a few things won't work.
BTW, is there a step specially to unlock the FOL1 bootloader that I am missing, or can I just flash that ROM with Odin straight up? I found a comment stating NOT to flash 5.1.1 with Odin or I'd be stuck on Lollipop until some new bootloader-unlock method comes out. The 5.1.1 I'm running wasn't flashed with odin it was sent OTA and I've never rooted or had custom rom/bootloader, so I should be good on that I guess?
I am actually about to dive into this, if no one has any suggestions for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2752995
So I'll just pick one at random then? Thanks for the help...
You haven't even listed your model S5 or the ROM it's running now
And of course KK hasn't been updated in over a year, Lollipop and Marshmallow are released, they're not going to keep updating KK when a newer version of Android is released
I am having the 4GB variant of Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1. I am looking for an android 11 custom ROM with the following being the key requirements.
Fingerprint sensor working
Working VoLTE, WiFi and good network reception
Working banking apps
Stable usage without stutters/lags in UI
Not into gaming, So prefers Higher battery backup over high-end performance
OTA updates (optional)
Kindly Suggest a stable ROM with satisfies ALL/MOST of the above requirements
all time best os HAVOC 4.4. pixel experience plus latest update is also very tempting but i want more performance so i decided to stay in havoc.
FP working
volte works wifi nd network working
default not rooted so bank apps work im using magisk and patched safety net.
no lags or stutter encountered. i did a clean flash means wiped everything along with internal storage. also don't use migrate, install and setup everything from scratch because gonna stay in this os for long time.
ota updates are monthly i think.
if you encounter lags or stutter then its not os problem. you have to flash fastboot pie rom. its like mandatory for our device to flash fastboot rom for every six months to get stable performance. default kernel is darkonah and im using gaming version of darkonah which is venus kernel you can use darkonah z to get excellent battery backup without errors coz of changed kernel.
