Watchfaces don't display any weather information - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've got a new Moto 360 2nd gen and downloaded some watchfaces from ustwo.
I had to experience that no watchface that should display weather information is able to display any weather information, it just displays nothing or ' --° '.
I resetted my watch several times now, opened the Android Wear app on my phone while switching to the watchface, nothing helped.
My location services are activated, the phone the watch is coupled with is a Sony Xperia Z5.
Anybody who had the same issues who can tell me how to resolve this issue?
Thank you very much!
- Daniel

I am able to answer this question myself.
The problem has something to do with the language your watch is set to.
As I live in Germany and my phone was on German (at least up to now) you miss some (or maybe a lot?) of features on your watch - including the weather information in many watchfaces.
I hope this can help someone!

It's not the best way, i know, but while waiting for someone that maybe develope an app TASKER can help us..
First of all i need to say that i'm a newbie in tasker use so maybe someone can do it better but i think that this is a simple way that everyone can do.
Requisite:
-TASKER https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm
-EMAIL ME PRO https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.caramellabs.emailmepro
-root device
Once dowload all open email me pro and complete the setting (smtp is very very very important)
now open tasker
Create a new profile
Select EVENT
on filter search for NOTIFICATION and select it
On owner application click on the icon and select whatsapp
Now maybe it ask to give tasker the accessibility so in the accessibility menu (of device setting) select tasker jb and put it ON
ok now profile is complete
Give a new task a name go on
Now select PLUGIN
now select EMAIL ME PRO and set is like you want is very easy
FINISH!

Daniele

some news from Google+ user in this community https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/117941715311215801130
post say:
"In the next few days we will release the windows simulator, you will be able to navigate the UI of the HOT watch and learn how it will work on your wrist. Hope this will keep you busy until you receive your HOT Watch."
Also looks like the ship date has been bumped down again to February.
Simulator is here
From Kickstarted comments page report:
The simulator can be found here: http://www.hotsmartwatch.com/download/ with the password Simulator4HOT.
Oh man... I really hope this gets some Tasker support like AutoPebble. That is the one thing worrying me about this watch.
I hope to, Tasker is a must-have!

Good stuff, I've got my eye in this watch. Anyone received their HOT watch yet?
they just started production of pcb's last week, that's the only info PHTL has given so far
they will send out a shipping schedule 'soon', whenever that will be...
Correct SDK links
It appears the links were mishandled somewhere and all the files on the SDK page are corrupt. I made a post with working links here http://hotsmartwatch.forumflash.com/index.php?/topic/28-correct-sdk-download-info-inside/
The SDK offers a LOT of control. Good luck!

[Q] Android Wear - Themes and Watchfaces

Hi everyone,
I have not found this info so far, so I'm asking here:
Can Android Wear Smartwatches be equipped with custom watchfaces out of the box, like the Pebble? I know that Motorola is planning something like this, but I'd like to know, whether we'd be stuck with whatever Samsung, LG or whoever made the device allows, or if we can install Watchfaces from the Playstore/other sources? This would be a big factor for different screentypes, AMOLED could benefit greatly from Black and White watchfaces for example.
The same goes for the general theme/style. Is that alway "stock" Google Now look, or can we adjust it to fit our needs and/or to conserve power on AMOLED screens?
Thanks.
You can find Google I/O prese.tation on youtube and just find Android Wear presentation. It shows watchfaces, wallpapers etc.
Short answer - Yes you can change everything.

Thanks,
I was aware of the wallpapers, but not sure about watchfaces, since those are, according to what I read, the only things manufacturers (eg. Samsung, Sony et al) are allowed to customize. Now, just because Sammy is allowed to customized doesn't mean they'll allow me to customize...
I'll rewatch it and see what exactly they say...
UPDATE: I watched the presentaion again, but did not find any concrete evidence either way. Apps can have a custom UI, but I found nothing on 3rd party watchfaces.
Another question just popped up in my brain: What happens when the watch is not connected to the phone? How much functionality remains?
Also, can you actually answer a call on the watch? I'd assume not, since it has no speaker...

Regarding 3rd party watchfaces, that functionality isn't available today but has been promised in an upcoming release. Wear devices currently run Android 4.4W so I would assume it will roll out with L (if not before).
Just tested the functionality of the LG watch when not connected to a phone. It has limited functionality. No voice commands (because it normally uses the internet through your mobile device) but you do have access to the basics: steps, agenda, timers, timers alarms, stopwatch, etc and apps that don't require internet.
When you receive a call can answer/decline or decline & send a text (with preset and on the fly voice I think) straight from the watch but I believe you will need to use your phone or another Bluetooth device to actually talk the the person on the other end.
Hope this helps.
Thanks. That does help!

What's up with Android Wear and weather?

I've been having major issues getting correct weather info on watch faces. Weather apps work fine, but temps shown on watch faces are always off by up to 10 or 15 degrees. Any solutions? I've tried changing the weather sources but we aren't given much choice. I have the ASUS ZW2 and wifi is off on the watch. Using manual location doesn't help either.
I'm seeing the same issue on my Huawei with different faces. Not sure how to resolve...
About the only face that works for me is Instaweather. All other are off. I wish you could set a global weather source and have plenty of choices to find what works best.
the weather app for myself and partner does'nt even work on our watches(zenwatch and sony sw3) always get "could not retrieve weather, check your internet connection"
^Yep, same message on my Huawei today...?

Some Questions and Problems about DM98 aka Lemfo LEM4

Hi Folks,
i bought a DM98 , also known as Lemfo LEM4. But some Problems seems to be unsolved:
In Germany the weather isn´t able to be located. Everytime i try to use it, it says "Locationing failed" . The Permisssions for Location is given and in Webbrowser the location is right.
Is there a way to get the internal weather working in Germany?
The "Fun Fit" App, wich is rceommended to work with a smartphone, is working so far. But i can´t get any Notification from the Smartphone (Samsung A5) on the DM98 Screen. The permissions are also given, and the Boxes in the fun fit App are checked.
Is there a way to get notifications from my Smartphone on the Screen of the DM98?
Has anyone made experiences with an external Launcher, like Apex launcher? Is ist worth it to be installed on the DM98?
Thank you so much for your help !

Unable to turn on accessibility services on NO.1 d6 smart watch

Hi all,
it is some time I have NO.1 d6 smart watch for testing and I am facing problem I'm not able to resolve.
Because I am blind, first thing necessary to do for me was to install and activate Talkback, screen reader for Android. I have activated ADB with sighted assistance, so I was able to install Talkback to the device using trustable apk file.
After this my assistant tried to turn TB on in accessibility settings, it is a classic accessibility service. It was however impossible to do so, because checkbox was overlapped by Talkback's description.
I have downloaded TB's source code from Github, rewritten its description to one letter and installed newly compiled version.
It has freed the checkbox to activate service, because of short text, but it is still impossible to activate it, it makes no reaction after tapping.
I am wondering, does someone have similar problem with this watch? Can you please give me a tip how to solve it?
I found on the net, that some Lollipop devices had issues with activating accessibility services, but solutions differed much with concrete model, so I am not sure what to do in my case.
I have also thought about rooting watch and activate TB by editing Android's settings file, but I am unable to find any root guides for NO.1 d6.
Thank you all in advance
Best regards
Rastislav
