VoLTE Verzion - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Running a Stock Debloated Deodexed MM on Verizon build and I can't for the life of me get the VoLTE option to appear. I've tried the ZIP for the TruPureXMM with no luck as well as toggling the hidden VoLTE Provisioning Flag. There's got to be someone else scratching their head with me?! I've looked and even posted on existing forums with no avail.

I'm using the TruPureXMM 2.3.3 rom and it's in there. I think the zip on that thread is for LP. Also, I think it needs to be activated on your Verizon account.

bw03 is correct. Your account must be provisioned for "advanced calling" in order for the volte settings to appear. Simply log into your myverizon account, and add the feature "advanced calling". Reboot the phone, and not only will the volte settings be available, they will already be turned on.
Good Luck

Like others said if you do not have Advanced Calling enabled on my-verizon this will never appear. Volte works fine on VZW & T-Mobile on True-Pure rom.

For me it didn't appear until I went into the hidden menu (dial *#*#4636#*#*) then tap "Phone Information", and tap the one that says something about VOLTE provisioning
N/m, I totally missed that you already tried that!

Update:
Restored to different ROM, splash screen at boot frozen, restored via TWRP to previous ROM that I was having issues with (stock, debloated, deodexed and rooted). Here's the kicker - at this point I "reset network settings" under the "backup and reset" and it magically appeared.
Glad it's working...
Not glad it doesn't all add up.

Lollipop Hotspot, no root or flashing needed

The only think you need ahead of time is your MSL. This isn't too hard to get from Sprint customer service. I got mine via an app called MSL Utility, which it seems now crashes every time I try to use it on Lollipop.
The steps:
Go to Dialer and enter ##DATA# (##3282#)
Press "Edit" then enter your MSL.
Click on APN Settings
For both "APN2 EHRPD internet" and "APN2 LTE internet" change APN Type from "default, mms" to "default, mms, dun"
After you enter the change, hit Menu -> Save before going to the next APN.
And that's it. That easy. It works for both Hotspot and USB tethering. Seems too easy, but that's all I had to do.
UPDATE 5/21/2015
There's been some concerns that this wouldn't work with the OE1 updated that's started rolling out. I can tell you that it works just fine. Feel free to click that update button!
UPDATE 8/03/2015
Confirmed, still works on the OG5 5.1.1 update.
UPDATE 11/06/2015
Tested, still works with OJ6 update.
This didn't work for me. It appears to work, but then it tries to sell me a tethering plan.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
did you try rebooting?
Turns out I was not on lte or ehrpd. It works now.
Confirming this works. Thanks for this.
Works great! Thanks!
Might want to turn off auto-update because sprint is bound to push an update through to patch this simple fix

Working .. lucky i still had my msl cause the spcutility app dont work on lollipop
Wow just called sprint and said had my lte was slow and ask for my msl and they gave it to me, going to try the hotspot fix
---------- Post added at 09:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:06 AM ----------
Worked like a champ
So calling is only way to get msl on lollipop?

THANKS A LOT! one of the main reasons I wanted root!!
Work just perfect, now my question is, does sprint can detect when im using hotspot service this way?
Dont know
They probably know... i have used it since gs3 then note 3 and now note 4 doubt they really care too much about it
There is another ota coming in alril after the s6 drops i have a friend whos a manager for sprint in boston mass
When you do an prl update itll need to be re-inserted.
i called sprint the other day over slow LTE issue. I was on the phone with a tech who eventually had me do ##72786#. after this session i was unable to obtain hotspot through galaxy tools using method 1 or 2. Prior i had no issue.
I didnt have my MSL and had deleted my last NK2 backup so had to go through the whole process of reverting to NK2 and back to my backed up OB7.
My OB7 backup was prior to the sprint session and so hotspot is working fine. Any ideas of what sprint pushed to my device?

This is correct. updates will undo these edits. anyways, I just uploaded a permanent flashable solution for those who want it, You must be rooted and have a custom recovery. Check out my mods section.

You should caveat that your mod needs Root since this is a post about a way to hack it without root. I haven't rooted my phone yet and frankly the hotspot issue was the only thing I missed that and call record. Probably wait till my warranty is out before I root.

Carrier Features

Hey guys - I've recently switched back to Android. I've poured through some of the discussions on flashing the 935U on the 935A. The post says that you will lose carrier features, but I haven't been able to find what exactly those are. Some of my guesses are:
Advanced Message
VoLTE
Wifi Calling?
I'm on the PG1 update.
Thanks!

Can't Use CM13 with Unlocked L720?

So i've got a L720 that i've rooted, unlocked, and flashed CM12.1 snapshot, I flashed NAE baseband after unlocking and all is well, however I'd like to be able to use CM13, but every time that i flash either a nightly, or JDCTeam's optimized CM13 (which is what i'd prefer to use if a solution is available), It forces LTE/CDMA (auto) in the *#*#4636#*#* menu, if i pick GSM/WCDMA and reboot it just goes back to LTE/CDMA (auto) and i have no idea how to make it work, if there is even a way, does the GSM unlock not stick on 6.0.1 ROMs?
Thanks for any help you can give me :/

Did anyone find a solution for this? I'm trying to use a Sprint Domestic Unlocked 720T with AT&T and running into the same issue. Cannot select GSM at all, no matter where (network mode shows -1). I've tried different modems, build.prop, hidden menus, etc. No GSM on the cm13 for the 720t??

Looks like we may be stuck on CM12 or LP based custom ROMs my friend
To be perfectly honest, you're not missing out on anything, having run the same ROM of LP and of MM, there is no real difference in regards to performance and battery life.

This is really sad... I've spent 3 days flashing various modems and can't find nothing. Though, I'd point out my LP kinda behaves same as my M, when it's done loading apps after flashing, it ask to insert simcard (same like my M), but then I go change the network type to 3g and network returns on the phone. Tried with cm13 but nothing, does anyone know what could be wrong??

[INSTALLED] SM-G935U over SM-G935T Firmware? What's so good about Un

Hello XDA Family
I recently flashed G935U Firmware *4API3 over G935T *4APIA, last night to be precise and right off the bat I must say that INDEED IT IS AND FEELS FASTER THAN STOCK *4APIA. You can just UNINSTALL instead of DISABLING bloat apps.
But other than the debloated firmware, what can we get about this Unlocked version? What is so good about it? Why SM-G935U over SM-G935T Firmware?
Pros & cons? Would you go back to stock?
Running September patch.
I'm still on APG1. Do you think it's safe to flash the API3 U firmware over it without taking t-mobiles PIA OTA?
I believe you would get the whitepages and tethering functions back.

I downloaded the SM-G935U TMO ....the one for T-Mobile as there is an UNLOCKED version for every US Carrier.
I heard AT&T and T-Mobile are so far the best firmwares of them all.

[Guide]How To Tether With No Root?

Step 0. Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ospolice.packagedisablerpro
And once installed search for "tether" and disable "tetheringprovision"
Step 1.You don't need this but it's safer to have it.
Download Foxfi http://foxfi.com and the license and once have all of that turn on hide tether usage.
(Once you get your tether going this will activate to hide your tether from the network providers)
Step 2. You don't need Internet but you need something that will showup as a wifi network such as a PS4 , Direct TV receiver, chromecast, a printer and more. Once you have these plugged in and running go to step 3.
Step 3. Go to your wifi enabler on phone and turn on the toggle for it to scan for wifi.
Step 4.Locate one wifi signal and press connect if ask for a password do a random pass and press connect
(Like on the PS4 signal it will popup saying wrong password and that's fine)
Step 5.Now that you set that random password it will try to connect as soon as you turn wifi on again so turn off wifi now and follow next step.
Step 6.Go into your mobile hotspot app and setup the name and password if so desire.
Now when ready toggle wifi direct to on and then quickly go up and toggle wifi on and keep pressing toggle hotspot on. And if done right it will come on.
Step 7.Enjoy mobile data hotspot! !
Don't turn off the wifi or wifi sharing or else it turns off the hotspot too… which im trying to find a work around for it…
Id be grateful if others could help research too.
Edit
Ive tried everything that I could think of to make a fake wifi signal but it all needs root which we don't have so.. O well then I'm still happy it works even though it is tedious.
Edit 2
A new find(I tested this and didnt work for me)
jtracker said:

Edit 3
Okay here's another way to get it to work but you need two phones and the one you use for this must have internet.
Okay so now I finally figured out how this works so here what you do:
Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kha.prog.mikrotik
1.To the phone you aren't using (turning this on the phone you're not using creates a wifi signal to the phone you want the hotspot app to work on)
2.Go on the phone now that you want to use the hotspot with and turn on wifi and search for the wifi signal that the phone used to create the signal.
3.type in a WRONG password and connect to it. (It will say wrong password which is fine now just click ok or cancel)
4.Turn off wifi and go to your hotspot app and turn on wifi sharing and quickly turn on wifi then start pressing the hotspot toggle until it connects.
5.Now you have the hotspot app on so you can turn the netshare off on the other phone and you should also be able to turn off wifi and wifi sharing and still have hotspot on!!

Another thing you can do is flash your phone with the Canadian firmware. Lemme tell you, this is how the phone should have came, smooth buttery and no restrictions on basic functions.

Hello,
You have to use a modified version of Odin, it's called princecomsy version and that can be found with a quick Google search or a search on here. Download it and install it with admin rights.
You download the firmware which will be in a zip file. Creat a new folder and move zip to folder and extract the zip. Once extracted you will see 5 files. AP, BL, CP, CSC and CSC home. CSC file will wipe your phones data, if you use the HOME CSC you will retain your data but it's also considered a dirty flash, wiping everything and clean flash is always best.
Double click Odin to open it, you will see 4 slots with the same letters as the firmware you just extracted. Put each file in it's matching slot. The AP file takes a while to confirm once you put it in the slot so be patient.
Put your phone in download mode and then plug it into the computer with your USB cable. You will see device added and blue color rectangle with a port #, that means Odin is connected to your phone. Hit the start button and sit back, it takes a while to flash. Once it's done it will say pass and your phone will re boot to recovery then boot normally, first boot can take up to 5 mins (which seems like an eternity lol). Set your phone up and enjoy!

Thank you for the instruction, I will try to flash it tonight. But I have two more question:
First one is: which carrier's firmware I should use? I found the G955W firmware at https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/SM-G955W/, which one are you using?
Second question is: Is there any functional difference between this two firmware? will I able to go back to AT&T firmware if something goes wrong?
Again, thank you for your help:good::good::good:
You want the XAC firmware. You should download it from update.com as they're DL speeds are way faster than sammobile.
Yes you will be able to go back to ATT firmware. Only thing I've noticed is no video calling, volte and that's about it. You can get those things working but let's just get the firmware flashed for now :good:

I didn't notice the download speed...both are pretty slow, but I think I should be able to finish the download in one hour.
Edit...you are saying updato.com and I thought it's samsung-updates.com, I can download from updato.com with full speed! which only took me 7 mins.
Samsung pay problem
I've been running the Canadian rom on a at t 8+ it has been flawless. I'm trying to set up my gear s3 and Samsung pay. I'm getting a message unable to continue does not support your version on gear. It's a s3 and did work before I went Canadian. Any suggestions? I like the caller I'd but should I flash the us rom?
Thanks

I have no idea how to help because I didn't ever flash it because I didn't see that much that I would favor in, but maybe someone will be able to help you.

Have you tried clearing the app data and reinstalling the latest version? Or you could also uninstall the app, reboot and reinstall latest version.
XAC and XAA are pretty similar if ya ask me, they both run smooth, fast and battery life is great!

Does the Canadian fw have mobile hotspot? The hotspot that lets you draw off your regular data plan instead of the Wi-Fi hotspot that requires you to have home Wi-Fi network?
This stopped working from me since the last ATT update. Can someone confirm if this is still working?

I flashed the TMO firmware on my AT&T S8+. Then I used BK Disabler Pro and disabled all bloat plus com.qualcom.qti.tetherservice and Tethering.Automation. i then downloaded Nova Launcher and made sure enhanced LTE services was enabled and HD Voice Settings were enabled. Running AT&T SIM with unlimited plan , tethering working just fine but I had to manually ADB the toggle into quick settings as well as the MobileData toggle. I can't find Wifi calling anywhere but I am sure I can use Google Dialer/Voice to place calls over data. I have DirectTV and was able to watch Live TV in full HD no issue. I am pretty sure that there is no tethering provision from AT&T so with the exception of V4A, I pretty much have everything I want without root. Battery charges to 100% and lasts way longer than it did on SAMPWND with root charging to 80%. Anyway, just my experience.
My firmware version is G955WVLU2AQK7 which I got from Sammobile.
I just turned off Mobile Data and placed a call with Google Hangouts Dialer and another with Facebook Messenger over Wifi and both worked beautifully.
