Upgrading to the new Oct 5 firmware on rooted Samsung Epic

I rooted my phone and when I try upgrading to the new firmware that samsung released on October 5, i it says that my phone is not able to upgrade firmware. Any one know what to do? Thank you.

More info please. What kernel, what ROM, what root did you use? I'm nice, but some people on this forum would eat you alive for leaving a post like this.

I'm sorry amigo - I know very little about phones - new to this world. I'm pretty good with computers though. I learn fast.
It's Kernel version 2.6.29
build number SPH-D700 ECLAIR.DI18.
Firmware: 2.1-update1
I used one.click.root.exploitv2.2.4 to root the phone. I haven't installed any other ROMS (Is there a place on the phone or within Rom Manager where it displays which exact ROM I am running?).

You're already on DI18, no need to update.
The build number shows you the ROM you're running

i need help because....i have recently bought Sony Erricsson Xperia 10i...it had not got android market place...i know there are other ways of downloading apps for my cell.....i want to add market to my cell.....Secondly i want to root it...i have used z4root its not working....my xperia other details are as follows:

hi, why dont you go this topic and install fully working froyo mod instead of stock 2.1

[Flash / Root ] LG-Optimus L7 - [Help]

Hello everyone and thank you if you are reading this and if you are willing to help me.
Recently, I bought a brand new GMS Unlocked Optimus L7. Even tho I m happy with it, it came with version Android 4.0.3 and I can't update it to 4.0.4, it says I have a latest version (that sucks).
Now I want to upgrade to jelly bean or to 4.0.4 and I m kinda confused.
Here is why.
I've bought my phone on Amazon and it was unlocked:
Model: LGP705
Version: V10D
Problem that I m facing is that when I try to find a proper firmware for my Phone (V10D) I can't seam to find my country (Bosnia) and whenever I look at some other country, it seams most of the firmwares are locked to some network ?
Now, tell me is there any firmware that I can download and android version 4.0.4 that would work for me, since I m not using only one operator.

You have successfully bricked your device.
Get a stock ROM and flash using sptool.

You bricked your phone.
you will need to download stock firmware and flash it VIA Odin
you can download the stock firmware here : sammobile.com

not really, its already "hard" getting solutions for original devices.... :/ unless someone had had your exact same problem and fixed it... I think you should start thinking on getting a new phone

Rooting Galaxy s5 (simple question)

First of, i hope im this posting in the right catogory.
I am developing an app that requires root acess, everything was working fine but when i updated my phone (as i expected) i lost root acess, the last time i rooted my phone i googled the build number and the model of my phone, got the file and using odin i sucessfuly rooted the phone.
But this time, searching for the build number i find nothing, do i really need to pay attention to the build number to root my phone?
Build Number: LRX21T.G900FXXU1BOJ1
Model: SM-G900F
Android: 5.0

Not in my limited experience, no. Correct device is fairly important though Try codename (in your case klte) instead of device name (SM-G900F), works better for me.
