Hi all
I've 2 nexus 7 :
• model nakasi (ME370T) : update manager says that 5.1.1 is up to date
• model razor (no idea of model) : updated to 6.0.1 on the first days of december
Why nakasi can't be updated to marshmallow ?
Thanks a lot
its only a guess:
google want to have less devices to support (less work)
Nvidea don't gave any updates for is own kernel aka drivers for 6.0.0
Its a 4 years old device .
Yes, it does make sens in general, but what's the difference between those 2 nexus, except that one is 32gb ans the other 16gb ? None ? :-/
Does a more recent 32gb model should get marshmallow ?
Hello, the nakasi is 1. gen Nexus 7 from 2012 and the razor is 2. gen from 2013.
They also differ in most specs:

Wow, I never imagined that there could be as many differences.
Effectively, I understand why it's not supported anymore
Thanks !

Hello .
Android 6 to a7100 never not released.
Who can Ram Note 7 for the port a7100?
thanks
Marshmallow for a7100 when does he come?
I haven’t install any custom kernels yet, I’m using the stock kernel. However since December 15, 2017 the Unlegacy-Android team rolled out an experimental AOSP 8.0 for grouper, I wasn’t able to test out because it was stuck in a boot loop, which bootanimation stays forever, and I haven’t seen any further updates anymore from the Unleagcy-Android team. Hoping badly for more updates.
Side note: I’ve tried either Gapps not installed and installed.:crying:
My Device:
Device Name : Nexus 7 (2012) WiFi
Device Codename : Grouper
Kernel : Stock
OS : Slim7 (Android 7.1.2)
Recovery : TWRP 3.2.1.0
Components Changed : No
Rooted : Yes
Boot loader : Unlocked
SD Card : No
I hope this would help. Looking Forward to the Unlegacy-Android team.
I notice they have an 8.1 ROM too. worth trying that one?
thanks for the heads up, I've been waiting to see if anyone would release an Oreo build
Those builds shouldn't be public as they are working on it

Hello XDA members,
First a disclosure, I'm a complete noob when it comes to Android OS & installation.
Having said that, I have an "unrooted" Moto G4 phone (XT1624 model) with Android 7.0. This model was not eligible for Oreo update & now some of the popular apps like Amazon shopping has stopped working since they require a minimum Android 8.0 to work. I was wondering if I could root this phone (5 years old phone so already out of warranty) & install any stable higher Android OS like 8,, 9, 10 etc. My questions are:
1. Does installing higher OS require specific system requirements or any phone with 2 GB RAM capable of working any OS?
2. Is it advisable to install in gradation like 7.0 to 8.1 to 9 to 10 ? What technical problems could I face if, say, I install Android 10 directly from Android 7.0?
3. What latest Android OS you guys think should work smoothly on this phone?
Current System details:
OS: Android 7.0
Security Patch level: 1 April 2018
Build Number: NPJS25.93-14-18
RAM: 2 GB
Chipset: Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617
CPU: Octa-core (4x1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.2 GHz Cortex-A53
GPU: Adreno 405
Thank you for reading. Any help & advice will be very much appreciated.
I recommend the latest official 8.1 for G4plus, look at XDA for TWRP-athene-OPJ28.111-22-1.zip

You can also get Android 10 unofficial for example with arrow os, but it has some minor bugs.
Always do a clean flash means wipe everything in TWRP first
PS: Regarding OS G4 Athene and G4Plus are the same
Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased n986u1 but realized they have closed the option to unlock the bootloader after the recent patch.
2 days later I purchased an Exynos variant is shipped with android 12 and somehow managed to downgrade to android 11.
I'm a full-time oneplus/ iPhone user and was not aware of the binary issue on Samsung. Want to downgrade to android 10 doest matter if its custom ROM or anything else
Current software version-
Android 11

Help will be highly appreciated
Very happy to donate something for future development.
You're probably screwed. Your current software revision (ARB) is at Version 3, and the latest Android 10 is Version 1.
Here's a list of firmwares with Android+SWREV values:
Android | SWREV
10 | 1
11 | 1
11 | 2
11 | 3
12 | 3
There's nothing you can do, other than to maybe ask Samsung.
