If you flash a new rom you would have to redownload the required apps or use an app like Titanium Backup to reinstall them (or manually install each app) which is time consuming.
Its just far easier to make a flashable .zip and keep in on SD card so after each wipe and ROM flash you could just flash this zip and all would be there.
I have made this thread so that members can name the apps to be installed and I will provide you with a flashable zip. The zip file can be flashed through the stock recovery.
BE SPECIFIC
1. List the names of the apps.
2. Whether the app should be paid or free version.
3. List the file hosting site on which i should upload.
4. The zip file will be uploaded within 2 days.
the advantage of titanium would be, that I don't have to reconfigure apps, since I can restore app data too

the advantage of flashable zip is that it installs apps in just seconds.
and btw we can restore app data through a zip as well
If I have a request, do I PM you or post it here?
Hello I wanted to know if I can create a custom gapps package myself. I currently use aroma gapps. But selecting every time which apps I want to install in tedious for me as I clean flash ROMs a LOT of times. I know there is an option to load and save choices but it doesn't work I don't know why.
Why do you have to select every time? the Aroma script should "remember" what your selections are... I can't remember the file it's stored in, but I am sure it's on the opengapps.org website with more information.
Many of you flashed many ROMs. For that you have to wipe data and all of your apps. And everytime you have to install apps from playstore or sd card.
So easy way to avoid time to make a TWRP flashable zip file.
1ST METHOD Root your phone and backup all of your data and create update*.zip file from titanium backup pro app.

2ND METHOD Use aroma package creater from *@Nikhil

Hit thanks if it helped to save your lot of time.
Which one of these methods can backup and restore data for apks too, not only apks?

Both method. In titanium backup u must have root. But flashable method no need to root. For restore data of any apps u must put data file from root directory of the app in the flashable zip creator.
Storing data of an app my conflict many issues, better to avoid. I prefer storing only user apps while flashing apps.
HAPPY FLASHING
I am new to compiling and modifying roms. I like miui for its functionality but xiaomi did not update important system apps like google chrome gmail drive youtube etc. I want to extract the rom zip file or the fastboot file of miui and put in the latest apks for the apps and then recompile it and flash it to my phone. I know i can first flash the rom onto my phone and then simply update via playstore but then the updated apps consumes the internal storage space and updating all such apps consumes over a lot of my internal storage which is only 16GB so o was wondering if i can download a fastboot file for my device and somehow put in or replace the older apks with new one and then again recompile of pack it and flash it directly would be nice any idea how can i achieve it.

Hi,
The screen recorder app for my Huawei 3i somehow got uninstalled and I can't find the APK anywhere online or the Play store/App Gallary. I had someone send me their version from a P20 pro, but since they are on 9.1 and I'm on 9.0, it wasn't compatible. Could anyone please upload the 9.0 version for me so I can try to install it? I'd rather not have to do a full wipe of the phone just for this one app.
Thanks!
PS: I wasn't sure where to post this so if it's the wrong place, please let me know where I should post it!
How shall we find and extract the apk file in either Honor 20 Pro or Mate 9?
It seems that we can't get any apk for system apps without rooting device. And what's the exact file name?

The way my friend did it was to get one of those APK extracting app on the play store. There's a few of them but he used the one called APK Extractor. His device wasn't rooted and was able to get an APK from it. Could that be why it didn't work when I tried to install it? I assumed it was the different android versions.
I see. You had better have someone who has the exactly same phone model, Huawei Nova 3i, to run the APK Extractor to get that apk file for you.

If their device was not rooted, I doubt it actually extracted the app from system. It may have extracted "something" and you may have tried to install it but whatever they extracted may not have been what you actually needed.
If it did actually extract the app, it may not have installed properly because it was not installed in system, it probably got installed in data partition with your user apps. It might be that it won't work if not installed in system. Or it might be that you needed to boot into recovery and wipe the cache partition(and dalvik cache if you have TWRP) then reboot and try installing the app.
This might be because when you removed it from system, that app still had files left behind in the cache partition, these files were associated to that app as a system app but when you installed the app manually it was installed in data partition but wouldn't work with the cached files that were associated with it when it was a system app. You might need to find a way to get the app installed in system so it can work correctly with the cached files that it was associated to when it was a system app, or you need to wipe cache in recovery then install the app as a user app in data partition and reboot the device to let it rebuild the files in cache so that they are associated to the app as user app.
There may be a way to use adb to obtain a copy of the app from system to share with you and then use adb to install the app in system.
