nothing much
Edit: new option in settings under backup and restore, there is a screenshot option
Apparently not.
100MB for a launcher update ?
Seems a bit huge, isn't it ?
As I come from the 139, I guess the release note from the 156 also applies....

It was there after 156 already.
Anyone can check if they are accepting non official themes again?
On 156 they blocked and just themes from theme store were working.
Anyone please upload update package.
Ota link and full firmware
For ze551ml. From 2.20.40.156 to 2.20.40.160
As always. Unroot before update. (Again )

Will install ASAP. 156 had a pretty dramatic negative effect on battery life, at least on my ZF2. Hope this update will do something about that.

Update with root (method 3).no problem. Root remain
Method 3 from this guide > http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/guide-to-apply-ota-bootloop-rooted-zf2-t3127835 ? Are you renamed WW_Z00A-20151218-20151225-20151225.zip (20,3 MB) to "MOFD_SDUPDATE" and everything is ok?

Can someone tell me if he has tested xposed and it works? I'm talking about the version of this page (http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/asus-zenfone-2-flashing-recovery-mode-t3096596). Thanks
Hey all,
I'm a cellphone addict.... In the past year, I've had (through Verizon) the Galaxy s5, then the note 3,then the Droid Turbo, and now back to the S5.... I'm not interested in extending my contract just to get a note 5 or S6, soooooo..... Will I be pretty impressed with the ZenPhone 2 4GB Verizon? I see it locally here for $279.
The fact that it's easily rooted is nice too....
Should I just get it?
Thanks in advance!
Unfortunately Zenfone 2 does not support CDMA so it will not work on Verizon or Sprints networks.

Jesus Christ. Have some forum manners and don't crap on a thread for something specific with something completely unrelated.
Either start your own thread, or ask this question in one of the many "should I buy" threads...
Need help.
I have no idea why, but i'm stuck on .97 version and my device doesn't detect newer versions. Any official way to flash new version using PC ?
Just installed 160 but non zenui themes not supported too ithink better management of RAM

So far (about 3 hours in) ram stays at over 2gb free, which is much better than it used to be. Also it looks like battery life is a bit better.

Not really. It rolled out what seems to be a soak test in a couple of territories and has since seemingly pulled it. The german DBT / multi CSC version wasn't even rolled out via OTA only through Kies.
Now it's unavailable on kies leaving users like myself with unbranded German DBT (CSC model) devices completely unable to flash it without downloading it from external sources and using ODIN.
Lollipop 5.0.1 seems to have gone officially into 'limbo' and were all guessing what this means for us. Perpetual wait for 5.0.2 or 5.1 ? Why did they stop rolling it out ? Are they going to fix and update to newer material design contacts/dialer/messages in a new lollipop version ?
Basically we just don't know and as per usual - play the Android waiting game.

I'd rather wait for the 5.0.2 version that the S6 is shipping with than use the current version. Or even better jump straight to 5.1.

you're right. Actually it's getting pretty bizarre. Samsung was hinting a Lollipop release in October 2014 (I know....hinting is no date) That was FIVE MONTHS ago without any information from Samsung. I HAD to install the DBT lollipop rom because my device was working very bad on KK (out of the box lot's of lags/crashes - had it tested but no solution) It's a better now but i'm not happy i'm actually still running a beta.
Right now Samsung is more focused on the s6. We have to wait but it's a bit strange indeed.
I feel your pain bro. My device (N910U) received its last update 73+ days ago: http://live.samsung-updates.com/index.php?device=SM-N910U
And Sammy is pushing out Note 3 updates...
You know, I don't complain.... Much.
But yeah, I'm with you. You don't just leave people dangling. Samsung pissess me off so much sometimes.
Here we are, holding the Note 4, and I don't know about you but I feel very not proud of my flagship phone.
I'm a first time Samsung user but I'm going back to the Chinese. Huawei treats me like a God every time I buy a flagship from them. I bought the note on a drunken whim. I love the pen!
However, is too expensive and I hate feeling like a school-child waiting for goodies.
I can't wait for the P8.

The 5.0.1 Lollipop rom is apart from some small bugs fine. If it was a soak test, why have they released the sources for it?
What ticks me off so much is the freaking lack of device priority in this update nonsense, not one S5 or definitely any NOTE 3 should be getting this update before the Note 4, we paid the big bucks for it; we should have top priority since it's the newest device (apart from the s6, but still that's far off) . and apparently the Sprint Note 4 is getting the update roll out today when T-Mobile says they haven't even received the update from Samsung yet. This is really starting to tick me off. Next flagship Windows Phone rolls around I'll be out of this game, I didn't have to wait for carrier approval, I just got it plain and simple without wait.
2 us carriers have it now
Just flash German lollipop I did it yesterday and it works flawless

It has already been said a million times and confirmed by Oculus themselves...The delay of Lollipop has nothing to do with the gear VR...
Those of you who are so eager to get Lollipop while having the N910F variant, just flash the Polish firmware and there you have it...others with the N910G/H will have to wait though.
Still waiting! Anyone know the delay? Who have got it in Europe? Germany. Poland. Anyone else?
ive been using lollipop for a few weeks now.
IMO its crap.. it really is not better then kitkat.
if i could downgrade back to kitkat without loosing my apps settings and files i would do it right away
So I have a Lithuanian note 4 8 core version and I'm using in the UK. And I plugged into kies and I saw a 1.7 gb update I thought I'll do it over the air instead and tried that and a 25 mb download happened installed and now nothing! I'm still on 5.0.1 and it says I have the latest update . Surely the 5.1.1 is coming? Did you guys see an update like this? Thanks. Ps i could be a little out in the sizes of the packages I guess

Kies downloads the full firmware, so it will always be big. OTAs are usually smaller.
And about the 5.1.1. update, it'll be available when samsung wants it to, no one knows
I don't think it will happen before the Note 5 launch(I hope I am wrong though).
Hmmm yes I see the 5.1.1 update is 623mb as well. Very strange to get that 25mb update after none since lollipop came guess the main one will turn up later....must be some kind of preparation update...guess I thought almost everyone had the main update now...

So your not wrong, September's on top of us & the Note 5 is out, still Samsung doesnt give it's late 2014-2015 flagship, Galaxy Note 4 5.1.1 Lollipop. Even Android M is out on preview for a while now to Nexus devices to try. Im so pissed off at the way thing have been. We got their top of the line, best phone & we get treated like ****. If the spec's of Sammy phones werent so good, i'll say goodbye forever to Samsung.
I'll be happy to get 5.1.1 by the end of this year. Android M? ha! gimme 5.1 and we'll talk about Marshmallows!
Can any developer help the Indian A5 variant users get a AOSP custom rom. As @mygalaxya discontinued his work for that variant. I am not a developer but would love to work on porting the rom if someone guides me on the procedure.
Don't worry, I can adapt BlissPop to any variant since now I have completz device tree for it. Send me a PM if you're really interested.
I'm also working on another build, it's a simple clean and fresh build, since all bugs are fixed we may adapt it to all variants.

Can u please give us a link of the AOSP ROM thread for SM-A500G,
SM-A500H Dual SIM variant.
And what about the dual sim variant Mr. @mygalaxya because these devices are not easy to configure to make the two sims working properly, I don't know what's the problem or where it lies, but for example check this: Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 cyanogenmod by mukulsoni with cyanogenmod 12.1 from 22nd November 2014 until today.
yet, dual sim functionalities -calling and internet- are not working as they should be.
I don't want to be a disappointment or frustration but, we should give our SM-A500H dual Sim a chance so, I wish good luck for all of you.
I'm eager to help with my phone.
Thanks.

And just install wanam Xposed and make your device status official and it will let you download the OTA. I also have rooted a5.

It seems like there is actually no lollipop release for a500g(India). But than why I got that update? Can it be an experimental build?
I have filed a complaint to Samsung about this a week ago. Do you think that is the reason why I got that update? Also the Russian lollipop update for a500fu was of 920 MB while mine was of only 830 MB.
Anyway I think I will wait for Indian lollipop release. Damn my 830 MB is wasted.
Edit: Just checked on gsmarena. A user there has reported that he has also got lollipop update on his a500g India if 830 MB. So I have got the right update.

The second option seems to be more logical since the Marshmallow update was released 2 days ago.

I think Play will be the last carrier to release Android 6.0 for this phone. You have to wait. If you are rooted then dont update or else you risk bricking your phone.
if it is true, pleake post screenshot with marshmellow on k420n
Guys, I don't suggest you to root your device. Marshmallow has Android Boot verification. What's it? It checks the all partitions if anything changed from stock. If it sees somethings has changed, might block your device. I just warn you, be careful and know what you'll do.
Yes I'm with 'berkantlz'. Chainsfire has developed a new way to successfully root Android 6.0 by not modifying the /system partition, but this is only for certain devices.
If anyone want to update to Android 6.0.1 on LG K10, it's OK. But by now DON'T TRY TO ROOT IT.

I forgot to mention but Android 6 is only available (by now) por certain phone companies, not all, even if you bought the same model.
But you have available to download and install Android 6.0.1 KDZ file from (Orange = Spain and Plus = Poland) companies, that if is not the official LG firmware (without phone's companies bloatware), you could install the last android version for it phone model.
For links, visit the LG K10 WhatsApp Group.
When called in to lg netherlands cust support today to ask for the carrier-free update status they told me the guys in seoul still had to test some things before they flip the switch. So lets hope the korean todo list is not too long...

Play (Poland) have got the v20b too
K430TR Turkey model has got V20y yesterday. It's already shipped with 6.0 but yeah
I have a marshmallow for about a week and i can say something about that
The first is battery, it's working shorter (Screen-On-Time 3h 30m) but Doze mode is perfect
I have got themes option and SmartWorld (i know it was in LP already but my carrier turned it off) and many new functions.
Light sensor and VPN works better.
Now On Tap worked good too but it turned off and i don't know how to turn it on back.
What about performance? The same like in LP, but it seems to me that animations is bit longer than on LP (just longer animations, no lags). Antutu? LP - 28k pts, MM - 27k pts.
After update i had problem with refreshing available wi-fis list and bluetooth just turning off after trying to connect with a speaker but hard reset helped and i haven't this problems now.
On LP i had lags on opening notifications panel with the navbar button, on MM it works perfect.
When I poweroff the screen and poweron back, i had about 1-2% of battery less. MM - no problem with this.
Don't Disturb Mode is quite difficult to use but works fine.
If you have questions ask here.
@edit my friend with nonbrand K10 (Poland) said that his phone is getting charged faster

hey guys, im using the zenfone 3 ze552kl. and i rooted my z3 right after i updated my firmware to the first official nougat firmware for zenfone 3 which is Version WW-14.2015.1701.8.
and recently, i checked on this website https://www.asus.com/in/support/Download/39/1/0/28/CHukp94xOkwRMIP4/32/ the latest firmware for zenfone 3 is Version WW-14.2020.1708.56 which came out 20 days ago.
so my question is, should i update my zenfone 3 to the latest WW-14.2020.1708.56? or should i stay with WW-14.2015.1701.8 because WW-14.2020.1708.56 has a lot of bugs?
thank you in advance.
It's all good and fine except 3rd party theme no longer supported to which i wasn't able to retain my close to stock android quick setting. If it doesn't matter to you then go ahead.
I find the newer versions to be much more stable. Give it a try, re-rooting is easy.

Are you sure? Then why so many bad reviews at here https://www.asus.com/zentalk/in/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=152944&extra=page=1&page=2&mobile=2
The reason why I asked should I update to the latest firmware or not cause I'm rooted, I can't even checked if there's any system update in settings, so in order for me to update is to manually flash the firmware instead of installing it ota.
Anyway, my current version I'm using is nougat 14.2015.1701.8. it is the first ever official nougat firmware given to the ze552kl. And so far I'm using it, I have no issues at all, no bugs. But I'd like to stay up to date knowing there's a latest and recent firmware out there. But is it worth it? Since my current version is already stable for me.
Are u sure the latest firmware has no bugs? Or should I just stay on my current firmware version?

I find the newer versions to be much more stable. Give it a try, re-rooting is easy.

I've been testing each new version before it comes out through ASUS' beta program. I've found newer firmwares to fix more and more bugs, with no downsides.
Updating is super easy if you sideload the update via adb and simply install Magisk when you're done for root. I did it just the other day and it took me less than 15 minutes.
Edit: It's still 7.0, by the way.
The update is certainly pleasing and anyone agree that the camera takes better pictures in lack of light situation in auto mode ?

There was a short period where they were accepting applications. Only a few people got in, myself included. They might open it up again when there's a beta version of Android Oreo for your model.
By the way, the ZE520KL has 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. The ZE552KL model has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
