NoMoto Debloat Script - Works! - E 2015 General

I found this script that you flash in recovery. It removes some services and apps. YOU NEED AN ALTERNATE LAUNCHER BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT! That being said, i assume no Liability for any negative results, in any way, shape, or form, or otherwise. Visit the original thread after you find it for details! Credit goes to lost101, who actually made it!

[WIP][APP] RootSuite - ROM modification for the rest of us

This thread is about my soon to come app called RootSuite.
What does this app do:
* It allows you to modify and optimize your phone/ROM without having to learn
how to use adb, shell scripts and programs.
Just choose whatever app you want to optimize, remove or
what extensions you want on your phone.
Just click your setup together... on your phone.
* It allows ROM developers to make a preset of scripts (clicked together or written
in RootSuite's own, easy scripting language) and let users choose whatever
modification they want.
ROM developers could package different themes into their ROMs and let people choose whatever theme they want.
How does this work:
Since every phone and ROM is different, giving users shell scripts to modify their
ROMs in just one way may work for some people but not for others.
Odexing for example requires a variable called $BOOTCLASSPATH
to define which framework files have to be loaded and optimized.
But the framework files are different for most ROMs you can find, wether it be Sense or non-Sense ROMs.
RootSuite just takes the scripts you made, takes the right $BOOTCLASSPATH,
converts the script to a runnable shell script and runs it.
That way it allows you to optimize your phone with a script made for your phone.
Another example: If you want to move an app from one directory to another,
you could have some small problems because when installing the apps,
Android renames the .apk file stored on the phone and adds an "-1.apk", "-2.apk" etc.
to its file name. So it's hard to use one script with a hardcoded path.
RootSuite finds the right directory + file name according to the package name it
was given in the script and allows you to use and modify the specified app however you want.
If you have questions about the app or have got some ideas for functions I should add, just post it in this thread.
And also, if you want to help me, please show some love and donate.
As I'm just an 18 year old student (and I'm writing this app in my spare time)
a donation would be a nice present. The donate button is in my signature.
Thumbs up from me
Why not use DSIXDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246
and APK Manager: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701 ?
No more forks are needed, only do better the existing solutions.
RootSuite is something very different.
My app basically allows modifications directly on the phone.
Why have to use a PC for some small changes a phone could handle itself too?
It also allows ROM devs to make some kind of settings app for closed source ROMs.
It really is something thousands of "noobs" could make use of too.
Think about it.
Yes please. Bring this on :d
great work..I wonder it...good job

[Root][CWM][Unbloat] A200 one click tools

Hi everyone,
Today we have a one click root tool and an unbloat tool. Both work very well and I in no way take credit for these tools.
First off is SimpleTool by hbwelch.
This tool creates a one click bootloader unlock, root, and clockworkmod CWM recovery.
It works great and I have tested all three functions.
Download: AcerA200 SimpleTool V2
The unbloat tool by Toffy seems to work well. I do have a hand full of apps that still refuse to let me remove them but at least we can get rid of most of it.
I was told this link was not in my best interest to be hosting so it has since been taken down
These developers can be found at the Acertabletforum website.
Thank you to hbwelch and Toffy for your work!

The "Unbloat" tool has a bunch of copyrighted APKs in it. It's probably not allowed here on XDA

I would say if anything it is questionable ground. The tool is only trying to remount the apps so they can be removed. It isn't exploiting the copyrighted material.
Can .apks even be copyright protected?

Download the tool zip and you'll see that the actual APKs are in there. The tool /should/ just move them via ADB. It would make for a tiny download too

That would make more sense. I didn't create the tool though. Until I am certain the tool is against XDA policy I will keep it available. I don't believe there is anything wrong legally with simply having the APK. If that were the case Titanium Backup could also be in the wrong by backing up your system apps to a user accessible location.

Well no Titanium doesn't break any laws because it doesn't upload your APKs to rapidshare
I don't mind the tools being available but I wouldn't want you being banned for trying to help either the mods can get quite pedantic sometimes. I've already had a week's ban and I didn't even upload anything illegal to xda. I think I posted a link to a forum that was deemed bad. Lolol

Native Hotspot Assistance

Once a deodexed rom is released it will be easier to test the hotspot mod out. Because not having the phone would require someone else that can Odex the files and test. This would be a pain because you would have to do that for each test. For now I am curious about something though. Is there anyone out there with the S5 that is paying for the hotspot? If so can you configure it and connect to it at least once, if you haven't already, and send me your services.jar and services.odex? You will probably need to be rooted in order to get to the files. Don't worry there won't be any sensitive information in the files.
I tried the mod you posted, same as was done on Note 2. Not sure if it worked or not as the build had some data issues, so couldnt comnect to test. It compiled and booted fine with the line deletion at least. Was easy enough to find
Gettin frustrated with getting the deodexed working to move on. Have some issues ive never seen before. Just Play store, Hangouts and Google Calendar sync FC's. Think its a GmsCore issue

Thanks for that! But you know how I am It is just my nature to use the native app. So if it can work that is best IMO. That way when I finally do get the 5 it is already waiting for me :victory:

Thank you. Could you Odex your hotspot mod and try it with either your rom or stock to see if it works? If it works on Odex then you know it will work on deodexed once it is ready.
To get the native hotspot working, you need to:
update carriers set type="default,mms,dun" where apn="n.ispsn";
in the following file:
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db
This is what worked for me on Sprint North America. Just got it working today, was trying all the known tricks including rebuilding framework-res.apk with no luck. Be advised however I first used a sqlite app from the market and it added a space between mms and dun which did not work. I installed the sqlite3 binary and did that SQL command from adb shell. Can do more of a walk through if needed, let me know.
Edit: miked63017 beat me to it. Here's his flashable zip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52089811&postcount=9

His zip is admittedly different than the zip I made, mine runs a sqlite command in place, while his copies a premade db into place. Either way, lets get some feedback on how this thing is working...

Yeah but it is using the mod that you discovered. So you should be credited. And my other point is that your zip only adds the portion of the mod that is required. His replaces the entire db file which could cause issues.

It's not a big problem. I knew your zip was different. My only point is that Mike published the method of unlocking the hotspot first. So he should have been credited for finding the fix. That's it. You could have kept your zip alive if you wanted to. Although I still believe his install is safer.

Because his zip only does a sql update for the specific change that is required. You're zip replaces the entire db file. Nothing may ever come of that. But if a user had a db file which had different contents than the one you provide they would lose those changes. There is also a very slight possibility that permissions on that file could get corrupted when replacing it. Highly unlikely though. I'd be more concerned about the first possibility.

[PORT/PATCH][STOCK CNE5] Patch ROM to get Active Display + quick unlock on lockscreen

Firstly, I'm not an android developer, just someone who wanted to have this feature and decided to do it myself with the help of information on XDA and google. So my thanks goes to XDA for having this wonderful forum where users can share information to benefit the entire community. I thought there would be many like me who would want to have this feature on stock ROM and decided to share this.
Secondly as this is my first post I was not sure where to post it and therefore if this does not qualify for posting here the moderator may move this to the appropriate forum.
This patch is for i9295 on stock CNE5 deodexed ROM
FEATURES

- Active Display
- Quick pin unlock (for pin and password)
- Double tap to sleep on lockscreen

Full Nougat OS.........Credit should be given to zulu99!

Has any one seen this as of yet? I just watched a video review of the it and man that ROM is the SH*T!! But I have not seen anywhere as of yet....... it's on YT
EDIT: There was a "guy" on youtube taking credit for @zulu99 Nougat ROM trying to pass off as his own, I have modified my original post to reflect the understandings of what this guy was trying to pass off as his own work......
Thank you to all of the posters feedback as well.
I have since modified the original title to reflect CREDIT to the DEVELOPER of the ROM (ZULU99)
me thinks he is using zulu99 full android experience rom with the squarehome launcher and not giving zulu99 any credit. correct me if im wrong
I'm not sure so Maybe you're right I notice in all his videos he will say that he will post up how to get the rims and never does!
This rom is zulu's rom with a different launcher
Any ide what launcher? I noticed that it's also 7.0 too!

Thank you!!!!
He goes by the name n2outlaw, so probably best to be aware of that when asked technical questions. He has a website where he is planning to get you to pay for him installing it to your box. Which is basically the aforementioned ROM with a different launcher and preinstalled apps probably. It's kind of sad that anyone would do this without even referring to the original source.
It's funny you say that because when I started asking him technical question he tried to direct me to his website to buy a shield from him LOL! But it's cool I figured everything out on my own and using Zulu 99's ROM with square home 2 launcher.
If anyone is interested I saved the configuration and you can upload the back up of the setup and you can just import the backup to square home launcher 2, it's best to get the paid version to take full advantage of it!!

This is for people that watch youtube videos and they and show something and they don't post how to get that look, well ya know what .....I will do the research and show people (video tutorial coming next and it will be funny!!)
Once the file is downloded just extract it to a folder on your box and then copy the that folder to the Square Home 2 launceher backups (I actually backed it up into a folder called AndroidTV and copied that folder into that directory. Open up SQ2 Launcher and get to the backup menu, once you do that if you did everything right the back up should have self populated and just click /double click on it depending on how you have your mouse setup and it will pause and respring!
NOW PLEASE KEEP IN MIND.......You may not have the same apps that I have but you can change it .....OR you can install an ALTERNATIVE APPTOID....source and it will download the application for you..... you can be the judge!!!
A video is coming within the NEXT day I promise on how to modify the boxes.....to get the full expereinece I suggest the paid version of the launcher (I am in no way affiliated with the app developer)

Our goal is to make public what this guy is doing and from what source he is basing his "work", giving the right credits to the one and only official developer of the Full Android firmwares for Nvidia Shield TV and Nexus Player, which is @zulu99.
I hope that with this public post this information receive more exposure on the internet. It is my duty to warn users against this guy, he may change usernames but people won't forget to whom truly belongs the work and credits.
Thank you for your attention!

Hi, do I just flash Nvidroid OS through twrp like a regular rom,I am already rooted,,,, Shield TV Pro 2017
No you don't need to flash it, just download the zip and extract the files into a folder and name it what you like and copy that folder into the SqaureLauncher2 backup folder. Open the launcher and open the backup option and click to install that backup

This is the work of the ORIGINAL ROM developer which is @zulu99 please refer to post #15 @lavero.burgos which I truly thank for setting the record straight and I have ammended my OP.
Please people do not confuse others. The firmware/ROM at videomap.it/forum IS NOT Nvidroid OS.
Read my posts for detailed info. Unreal users skip my posts.
@gthmcty1 please correct your last post.
