Hey all,
I know people have tended to build an empty Flashable Zip file where non-devs can package, sign and create zip files for general flashing.
Would one of you hot shot devs be willing to build one? I'm trying to build a few flashable files to load various apps into the N6P system folder for others to use. I just have to mine working first before I can post for others to use. For now im just doing it the old school way and loading the folders and files into the System/Priv-App directory and testing.
Thanks in advance!
I've been using the one I used for older devices and it's working just fine. You should actually try some trusted ones and see if they still work now before you come and ask for a new one.
As of mine... I won't upload unless other solutions won't work, and I bet there are plenty out there that still works. Mine is actually based on one found on XDA too.

The other empty flashable zip files found on the internet are not working with android 7.1.1 operating system. Can anyone please help me with a flashable zip ?
I too would be interested in this.

Hi guys,
I've just came across this new device for the Chinese market and here are the specs: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_v-4805.php
It has almost the same hardware as our old N1, above all NOTE that it has the same Adreno200 for graphics :good:
For now I have downloaded a European RUU (RUU_PRIMO_DS_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_1.59.401.1_Radio_1.05.34D.25_20.20.30.22U_release_263747_signed) for this Desire V (codenamed Primo?), and I have extracted the system.img.
Now to extract the content of that image I have to play with a Linux environment..
I've tried with unyaffs.exe but this image won't extract with that utility. I think the only solution is to "mount -o loop system.img" or something like that.
Do you think it's possible to do something?
Please remember that I'm only a cooker, with some (a little) experience, but with NO Java knowledge..

Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk 2
thanks..
i think shaky's Sense 4.0 alpha rom was based on Desire V dump.. dont know if it is worth the effort to start all over again...
Wait. It was based from One V rom. Not desire V
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk 2
I agree with xeloni. Shaky was using the One V rom dump, which has the Adreno205 gpu!
The great thing of having a device with at least the same GPU is that we can have the right GPU files/drivers and maybe have a complete full gpu rendering. Obviously we gonna have to build a 3.0 kernel and proper cpu drivers...
Cmon dbasabe ! !
And shaky has almost finished thé kernel but he stopped all :/
After Imperzampemo, in this rom delete all useless appartement. Some ringtones. Fast and Light sense

i managed to extract system.img, it is 800mb after uncompressing...
one more thing, i couldn't extract the secure boot image. anyone know how to extract that?

OK, but now the main thing is to extract all the content from system.img!
About boot_signed.img don't know yet.
Anyway I still have to install Linux on my pc, so I'm stuck as of now..

i managed to extract boot_secure.img also.. it had 256bytes of some security key on the beginning.. i had to tail it and then extract.
any way, after extracting, the system.img is more than 600mb.. we need to reduce it to less than 200mb to install to nexus one...
meanwhile im trying to boot with the kernel from the dump.. as of now, its not working.. kernel panic..

Try to boot with the kernel included in shaky rom

ill try that. but before that, need to find some applications to remove the the dump so that i can reduce the /system size to less than 200mb...
Okay!
Could I just get some sort of final solution, not only me, but the many others on xda that are suffering from the same problem as me. Why am I not getting notifications!? I've tried almost every kernel on here, from Franco to Air kernel and no luck! I've tried using the PNF app, no luck there! Is there just one solution!?
I restored a nandroid from when I fresh rooted my nexus. Is this a kernel issue or a ROM issue ?

It may work for you, just make sure and be careful to choose which one. I myself haven't tried any of them (keeping stock for sometime)
I've been using a +motley kernel found on his thread that someone modified with newer prima drivers. It has worked fine for me for months now.
Hi all,
This is probably my first post so before I go ahead I'd like to thank all developers on this site. It's got a wealth of information that helped me a lot.
Unfortunatey I haven't found a way to do this yet, so I'm posting and asking for help with this issue I'm having...
I used to run CM10.1 on my Nexus 4, I always patched that rom with autopatcher to apply openpdroid so I could set privacy stuff using the Pdroid Manager app.
I decided to go back to the stock rom due to issues I was having (my phone actually got bricked and I managed to fix it following excellent instructions that I found here).
Now I can't apply the openpdroid patch to the stock ROM because autopatcher only accepts zip files and I'm sure that it needs the structure of the ROM.zip to work. The Google factory image is a ROM.tgz file and upon extracting a zip and the factory image, I noticed that the structure is completely different. I have no idea how to create a zip file out of the stock rom.
I'm wondering if anybody could do this? I'm not sure if autopatcher requires deodexing... All I need is a stock 4.3 mako image in the form of a zip file that works like the CM roms, so I can patch it with openpdroid via autopatcher.
Is this possible? Could someone here do it, please?
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
Thanks all for reading!
Welcome to the great xda-developers forums
Well you should search the Forum with the forum search for a tutorial to zipalign your stock rom, there are many out there i think.
I think i even saw a rom kitchen for that.
That thread belongs to Q&A by the way

Thank you, as you can see I'm new here I tried to search for something but I'm not sure if I was using the right terms, so I decided to ask. I didn't even know about this zipalign or rom kitchen stuff, but now that you mentioned it I will research. Thanks!

Just my opinion but I think it would be better to find a stock, 4.3 deodex ROM in a flashable zip. I'm dead sure there's a few floating around in android or original android development. That would make it easier to patch
Edit: this should do, stock 4.3 zip:

Linked below is a template of the VR Theme System for the Nexus 5. I noticed that some of you had butchered pulser_g2's beautiful code to get it working on our device (as well as some incorrectly coded updater-scripts). So, I thought I'd try to do a more proper job (hopefully I did ).
All credit goes to @pulser_g2 and the Villain ROM Team. I just added some code to include the new /system/priv-app folder found in KitKat.

I know people have got it to work. But the few I looked at simply hijacked /system/app for /system/priv-app. This is fine as well, but they lost the ability to theme /system/app. Just thought I'd share a fully working version with everyone.

Hi!
If I want to build AOSP for N6P how should I obtain the necessary binaries & native apps?
I interested in the process logic, please don't post links to already extracted files.
So I have system.img & vendor.img - what files to grab for AOSP successful build?

You are better off doing the research yourself than asking people to do it for you.
I build CM instead of AOSP, but for your reference, I always sync the proprietary files from TheMuppets repo.

But what if I want to understand how that repo is constructed - I mean, which files should i extract from Nexus 6P system / vendor images to create such a repo by my own hands?

Might want to look inside corresponding device in the TheMuppets repo to see what's contained. Other than that I don't have a clue - I do quick and dirty builds once a month and don't care much about technical details.
