After each reboot, my mobile connection state is "no service" and there is no signal sign in the statusbar. Even all the items in the mobile connection settings are greyed out. If I remove the SIM card and insert it again, the connection is available again.
I'm on stock MM for XT1572 EU with systemless root (currently 2.65) and xposed. I updated to MM by installing stock LP and applying the official OTA. At the beginning, this problem wasn't present. It started after a few days on MM (I didn't change anything, as far as I remember).
Does anybody else got this problem? Please help me, this bug is so annoying...
I'm not having that exact issue, but I'm having other issues that persist through all 4 MM variants. My WiFi stinks, and takes about 2 minutes to connect. Webpages take minutes to load (wifi or data), and the phone is just generally sluggish compared to LP. I think I'm going to have to fall back on LP and deal with the stock colors :/
Here is the modem syslog. There are errors when trying to get the SIM slot 0, but I'm new to syslog so I can't analyse it.

Background:
- Sprint L720
- International unlocked with GSM SIM
After updating to a new 4.4 ROM (Slimkat) and NAE (modem only from the modem thread), connecting to anything other than EDGE causes, what seems to be, a modem crash. If I force "GSM only"/2G connection, it's stable with EDGE. If I try to connect to 3G, I see "3G" quickly flash on the status bar next to the signal indicator (I have full service), and then the whole mobile connecting drops and resets... then it goes back to having full service, but no data connection at all - until I got to mobile settings and set it back to "2G" and it goes back to stable EDGE.
I am overseas with the phone (it's fully unlocked and I got a strong H+ connection with the old CM ROMs at the same location), so I am wondering if it's an issue with the new 4.4 ROMs not supporting GSM? Perhaps some sort of baseband/modem mismatch? I also flashed NAE (modem only) as well when I did the ROM - I have since downgraded, but perhaps it isn't fully downgrading?
I applied the MF9 full one-click, no joy ... I did a factory wipe and applied the 4.2 factory image from SamMobile, no joy...
Looking at the logcat, I see something along the lines of an error for 'Mobile network type unknown: 0'...
Any help would be greatly appreciated - only having EDGE is driving me nuts, especially when my actual mobile network here is very fast..
Let me know of any information I need to provide - Thanks
Ok, update - I applied the MK2 modem and then NAE, as I saw someone else do because they said that the NAE file is missing some things... no joy
This all seems to have happened after applying the NAE modem-only file - Does SlimKat not support GSM? I don't think it's SlimKat, because, even going back to the fresh "Factory default" flash that I got some SamMobile, I still had the same issue..
Which leads me to what I think the problem is - the Qualcomm settings. Those seem to be persistent across all ROM restores, so how do I go about resetting the QUALCOMM settings to default? Is there something I can do with EFS Professional/CDMA Toolbox or something?
I have been running Nightlies of CM11 everyday as they are released and normally I have no problems. One of them must have tripped something. Wherever "Sprint" is supposed to be--bottom of notification panel and under the signal in the quick setting panel--it says "Roaming Indicator Off." I normally wouldn't mind but with it is the inability to send MMS or connect to LTE.
I've flashed various APN zips to try to fix it that way to no avail. I've tried manually entering the apns and still nothing. I set the phone back to stock using ODIN and LTE and data worked fine. I rooted it again and install the pre unified build of JFLTESPR and data and lte worked, then when i wiped and installed M8 again came the roaming indicator off. I'm not sure what the issue is, but I really would like to get the kinks worked out so I can have LTE again.
It a problem with the ROM that has to be fixed by the developer.
Problem is fixed, it had to do with the the rom not asking for the pin to my sim card. I flashed an older build and used it to remove the need for the sim pin and then reflashed to the most current build.
First off I'm using an unlocked S5 on straight talk's LTE network, have been for about 9 months with no problems. I've talked to support twice and they reactivated networks and all that good stuff, and when none of that worked sent me a new sim, which I have just activated and it still didn't fix my problem - so I'm finally bringing my issue here.
Last week I decided to update from phoenix rom oc4 (I think it was oc4) to optimal rom og5 (15-5). Anyway I was hasty in flashing and messed up, so just went back to stock ncg > root > full wipe > flash firmware, rom, kernel, firmware again just to be safe. The rom works fine except I seem to have lost my data connection. The 4G icon still shows, but it's not filled in - as you can see in the screenshots. To make it even more strange, when I check the network and sim card in apps like Advance Signal Status and Sim Manager, I still seem to be getting a connection to 4G but there is just no data flowing. The only error I can see is in phone info, when I run a ping test, I get PingIpAddr: Fail: IP addr not reachable which you can also see in the screenshots. It would appear this is my problem but I don't know where to go from here. I'm going to start flashing different versions of modems, starting with oc4 to see if that helps. Then I'll probably try different roms, but I've flashed other roms trying to fix this and even restored the backup to when it worked and it still didn't fix my problem. Did I wipe my IP address or something maybe? I am in CDMA/LTE mode, and the vzwinternet apn is selected.
For starters try to put the apn settings for your carrier and if not sure call them and ask them to email you the setting
I fixed it, went back to stock ncg instead of ni2 and that worked. Weird.

Hello, recently I bought and repaired an S8+ which is still in Nougat. Silly me not testing all basic function after the repair.
I hurriedly update the phone to Pie. Last night, i put in the simcard in slot 1 and it function well in 4g connection.
Here is the problem, whenever the phone disconnected from 4g and connecting to 3g/2g connection, there is notification "Sim 1 not allowed". After discovering that problem, i proceed testing sim 2 and its normal (can even toggle between 4g and 3g/2g).
I tried resetting the phone, but the problem persists.
Atm, i thinking of flashing stock rom, maybe something was corrupted during OTA update.
How can i fix this? Or anyone have an explanation to this problem.
Thanks!
