Hello everyone,
When I bout my phone, I know for a fact that my model number was I9000. I noticed that now, after flashing a rom , it is written in my settings the my model number is I9500. so , is my phone considered i9500 and I should now flash roms that fit for I9500?
And one more question - I downloaded GT-I9500-CWM-6.0.4.7.rar file from one comment from this forum. is it save to flash and should I do factory reset and cache wipe before flashing it?

Your phone doesn't change hardware after flashing a rom. The only way you know what phone you have is by looking what's written in download mode. The rest can be altered.
Was I9000 not the S1?
Boot into download mode (vol down + power button) and see what it says that your model is.
Thanks guys, in download mode it says It's 9500 so I gusse it's 9500 now. I know it doesn't make sense but I'm sure it was I9000 before.

No that's impossible. If download mode says it's an i9500 then it always has been a i9500.

I9000 is the original Samsung Galaxy S.
Unless you bought a Galaxy S, then there no way it was I9000.
Besides, you could make the phone model show even as an iPhone. The phone model display can be edited easily with root. Download mode is the only one that will tell you the true model.

Hello guys, this is my first post. HTM won a GT-A9500 and he had to turn the boot S4 i9500, Hard Reset when did he disappeared with this boot and the HTM logo began to appear, is to install the i9500 boot again or install a ROM S4 i9500 original?
Or at least install the Jelly Beam 4.3 or 4.2.2, because he is with android 4.2.
Regards,
What?

How for the goodness sake, you want to flash near 2gig ROM into a crap having 256MB available for it??????
you can tell His Terrific Majesty (THM) to sell his prize for the real market value of 20dollars and buy a hamburger instead.

More is possible to install a more current version of android as it is with the 4.2.
Another thing, when I called him, appeared the i9500 boot after I did the hard reset boot HTM appears, is to at least get back in the boot of the i9500?

I see that you do not understand the basic clue.... ok, let me help:
this thread of the XDA is for: Samsung Galaxy S 4 i9500, i9505, i9505G, i9506 . PERIOD.
No Chinese fakes are supported here. PERIOD.
Your phone (HTM GT-A9500) is nothing even close from the hardware point of view, to the original. PERIOD.
In the other words, it seems that you are trying to install 7liters engine from Lamborhini Diablo into the Daewoo/Chevrolet Matiz.
To do it successfully you will need to follow simple procedure:
1. disassemble the case of your phone;
2. Buy somewhere the motherboard, digitizer, screen & auxiliaries from Samsung GT-I9500;
3. Assemble it.
4. flash the I9500 ROM of your choice.
Simple??

What precise model is your Note 3? Are you 100% it is not a fake? Does the phone have "download mode"? Can you still enter "download mode"? What does it say there? Have you tried to write the latest stock ROM for your precise model? (and by model I understand platform and type, for instance on N9005 there are slightly different stock images for the 32GB EU models and the 16GB Asia models).

What i've heard if you lost your efs, many things on the phone will note work and eventually you will encounter FC messages. The only way was to restore the EFS. But you can find any other alternative like Flashing the 4 part firmware and see how it goes. If it doesnt fix your phone, keep finding.

this is driving me bunkers. so i buy an unlocked i9500 in eBay from hongkong and everywhere on the box and on the phone itself it says i9500
but in download mode it shows up as SGH-i337 and also upon using the phone (stock) it randomly asks me to sync my AT&T contacts.
the SIM card that i used is not even AT&T. and also my attempt to install CWM via odin failed.

you mean its not samsung made? as in its a chinese fake? lol i dont think so. it just looks too normal for that
You have an i337. It's simple as that. You have probably a rom installed that's based on a i9500 rom. So nothing to worry, you just need to look in the i337 section.

once you are sure (check also what FW version you have) you can flash I9500 cwm with odin.
Odin has nothing to do with what is already installed. (expected your drivers are well installed). CWM can be pushed in.
If download mode says that you have an i337 then you have an i337.

It seems you have a true I337 because of the bootloader infos but all the rest is messed up with tricks done by former owners.
So you must reflash a stock I337 fw to refresh everything. get it from sammobile site.
edit :
ro.product.model=SAMSUNG-SGH-I337
ro.product.brand=samsung
ro.product.name=jflteuc
ro.product.device=jflteatt
These are correct infos telling that your phone is a good I337 model.

I too face the same issue...did you find any solution. Can you please share it ?
hi same problem
hi i have same poblem here and i can't use download mode to instal lolipop official or any ohter rom any solution u get there
As mentioned upthread, if the model number posted in Download Mode is SGH-I337, you have an AT&T Galaxy S4. Because of this, you will want to look in the AT&T Galaxy S4 forums for ROMs regarding your device. Unless you have no other alternative, I do not recommend installing AT&T firmware on the phone. If you do install AT&T firmware, it will work, but it will also update the bootloader to a version that disallows rooting and custom ROMs.
Ideally, you want to get your money back from whomever sold you the phone. Frankenphones are nothing but trouble.

that actually wont work. you cant flash a stock rom on these . i tried the appropriate hong kong firmware and an i337 firmware. they just fail.
^ exactly
my friend had a phone like this. bootloader was t mobile, but wouldnt install rom using odin
I flashed cm11 for GPE and and baseband modem from m919 using cwm and it finally worked
I think these phones are made using working parts from different phones
Ok, so a few days ago i bought samsung galaxy s4 gt-i9500. Everything is fine except when i change launguage to my naitive. After that some of the apps stay in english and others change their language into chinese( i'm not sure if its chinese but it looks like it). phone runs on android 4.4.2. i tried to uptade it to android 5.0.1 with odin but everytime i try it fails either in re-partition or nand write start. Enyone can help? I tried using differnt cables, usb ports and even diferent computers, always switch off antivirus and kill kies, and start odin as administrator.
Enter download mode and tell us the model number displayed there. That way we can rule out a Frankenstein phone and help you better.

it's not a S4 I9500 , it's a SHV-E330S with diffrent hardware processor 2.3GHz LTE advanced , dont try to upgrade with I9500 Firmware you gonne brick your phone , take look here and try one of this firmwares http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SHV-E330S/
I didnt know that. I only checked in settings and model number displayed there is gt-i9500 but im pretty new to samsungs so i'll try with that. Thankfully nothing bad happened.
One more question, can i use only firmware for shv-e330s witch is for south korea or can i also use firmware for gt-i9506 witch has csc dedicated for my country. As i checked it shv-e330s and gt-i9506 are the same.
You can only use firmware for the E330S. Odin will reject attempts to install the I9506 firmware on the device. If there are custom ROMs available for your device, I would use one of them.

Thank you, dear sir. I'll certainly do this.
Hi
Background: I am usually very thorough when buying a new phone. This time I Wasn't well for many days and in the hospital. Urgently needed a new phone and ordered 1 online from a used shop. I specially wanted i9500.. no other variant..
I got one, it said i9500 on the back cover (echted in the plastics and well as the paper... which said made in india.. also the paper/sticker wasn't samsung quality but maybe since it was used, and indian made, i thought ok..
Now I inserted my sim and turned it on... Some chinese s***t! then samsung logo then the TouchWiz.. But there were many chinese apps as well. AND IT DID NOT DETECT MY SIM. Settings say its an i9500.. it felt like a samsung but something was off... In camera, as soon as I took a pic, phone got shut off! Had to take out battery... (btw, it says android 4.42 and when I go to Update.. .Samsung says it cant as device has been modified)
reformatted phone... more chinese sh*t, then Android loads up and there is no play store!
So I downoad a Darky ROM for i9500 and try flashing.. viola!! success.. Android 5.0.1
It said Sim not registered... then that message dissappears and now it shows me FULL SIGNALS but when I try to dial anything, it says Not registered on network! - WHen I went to settings... in device it is now saying:SM-903F (is that a ROM thing or is that the real phone model I have..?)
Can someone please help me.. the phone is very important here in my hosp.. cant type/read a lot of my laptop, it is very energy comsuming
Regards
P.S My location is Pakistan
See if you can enter download mode (Volume down and Power). If you can get into download mode, read off the model number displayed on screen. If you can't, the S4 is counterfeit.
The phone could also be a combination of various parts from different hardware versions of the s4.
Also, check to see if the imei is okay.

Yes bro, I can see the IMEI..
I tried flashing another ROM (TouchWiz) - Still sim is not recognized (but signal bars goes to full.. even if I take out the SIM.. guess thats a ROM issue)
Anyways, still stuck.. Which modem should I try flashing... :|
I was going to suggest a stock 9500 rom from sammobile.com but there are only ROMs for the 9500, not 9500chn.
Googling the model 9500chn links to other people that have the same problem when trying to flash another rom.

The phone model become GT-I9500CHN because of Chinese bootloader that unfortunately very hard to get rid of this stuff.
______
Your phone might be trying to connect to China Mobile or China Unicom that uses TD-SCDMA instead of WCDMA for most regions.
Also, after you install DarkLord S6 port on your device, you'll get phone model on About device as SM-G903F (Galaxy S5 Neo) instead of the normal one for more compatibility (according to the developer).
I would try to check the IMEI online to see if this is original or not (ilegally tampered from other device).

I hate chinese like u do... but this is not cheap
and it is actually a REAL Samsung Galaxy
problem is its GT-i9500CHN - aargghhhhhh - pain doubling... due to me being in hospital. cant go outside to kill someone
If you flashed custom ROMs and them boot, it's not a clone. I9500 performs an Exynos CPU, Chinese clones a Mediatek one, so just for this ROMs couldn't even boot.
All you can do is try to flash a stock firmware from SamMobile, an I9500 firmware coming from China, and see what happens.
By the way, I think this guy bought a Chinese (Genuine) I9500, then rooted it for install Google Apps, that would probably be the reason of the GApps disappearing after formatting (as far as I know, Chinese phones have a backup partition where an emergency copy of the stock firmware is located, I don't know if Samsung does this as well).
For the SIM problem, it's probably simlock, and it probably works only with a determined Chinese operator (or, again, it probably doesn't supports Pakistan's signal bands).
All you can do is check your IMEI on some dedicated site and see if it's simlock, then if it's not, check if the bands that your phone supports are compatible with Pakistan ones.
Sorry for my bad english.
Nexusâ´ on Tapatalk.
Again, China's bands are TD-SCDMA, not WCDMA as we use mostly over the world.
