Hi.
My N7 just died a few minutes ago. I was using it fine with about 25% battery left. All of a sudden a 'please connect to a charger' symbol flashed up then froze. Next thing that happened was the screen went black and little sparky white dots starting flashing all over the screen. I have connected it to a charger and held the power button for 15 seconds and its starts booting again, but as soon as I get into the os the screen briefly corrupts and blacks out.
Here is a video.

Is there anyway to do a hard reset via the volume rocker and power button?? I have managed to get into the boot loader but there are no options. It will not power on without connecting to a charger.
Everything is at stock.
Looks like another call to Google.

You need to change the settings on the youtube video. When I click on the link, it says that the video is private.
Are you rooted and unlocked ???

Oops sorry just changed it now.
I can get into the boot loader but pressing the volume button down doesn't move it to recovery mode.
I think it is well and truly stuffed.
Looks like a victim of fsync being turned off.. Sudden power lose, data wasn't written completely, reboots, hits the corrupt data and poof.
Reflash a rom and you should be good to go.

Ok will do. I noticed after my last reset battery said 0%. Whereas 5 minutes previous during another boot attempt it said 28%, which is the amount it died on.

Maybe it was on the verge of being dead but your battery level was not being shown properly.

So even if the N7 is attached to the charger would it still flip out after loading android?
I really hope its just a dead battery but I'm not hopeful.
Same thing happened to me and i fixed it(Mine was dying at %15). I did some random things and I'm not sure about every step is necessary. Here is what I did:
1) Erase system data and cache partition using fastboot
2) Flash stock rom using fastboot
3) Charge it for 2-3 hours more when battery gets %100
4) Factory data reset
5) Use it until battery gets %1
6) Charge it again and wait 1-2 hours more when it gets %100
7) Done
Restore the factory image from fastboot. You might also consider flashing a custom recovery long enough to wipe your battery stats. I had this happen on a completely stock LG Marquee, once. Exact same situation, too.
Hi all.
Well I left it to charge for about two hours and then reset it (15 seconds power button). All the screen had a white halo around the edge, but it did stay on and not corrupt. I have added a video to show the effect.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_NKFsF1xw0
So I left the N7 for a bit and it started to get better. So I left it a bit longer and it got a little bit better. Better but not good - all the screen has bad image burn, it is getting better though. Now the image burn is disappearing and it is 80% back to normal. The left side of the screen is worse though. It is also charging very slowly. I left it charged for two hours and its only on 40%.
Looks like possibly a hardware problem... I have not seen anything like that before. I'd see about warranty through ASUS on that one. Especially if its still 100% stock.

I was running a standard OS, no root/custom/anything (mostly because I couldn't find a compatible hack). Anyway, I had my phone running happily for ~2+ years, no trouble at all, but few days ago I left it charging for 2-3 days (it powered down due to lower power before that). I've done it before several times, but when I tried turning it on, it was stuck on Samsung logo (white on black). I restarted, it was stuck a bit further on the colored startup animation. Third time, stuck on the logo again. I turned it off, but it was a bit warm after 10 or so minutes. I tried charging it - it showed the usual green battery charging from 80% or so. I took the battery out, pressed the power button for a minute for some hard reset, but the battery back in, and from that point on it seems I have a brick. No reaction to power button, no reaction to charging. Power+Home+VolUp produce no reaction, either.
Is there anything I can try, or should I just give up?

The only answer I can think of is that your battery is dead. I would try to use another battery before getting to the conclusion that your phone is completely bricked. Or just let the battery out of your phone for a couple of days and try again later.

Must have fried something. The only thing I would check now is to connect it to a PC with a USB cable and see if the PC detects something, ANYTHING. If it makes sounds that something has been connected to it. I remember when I hard bricked my phone, it did not turn on at all but my PC still sort of detected it. I guess that is the only thing left to try to give you a definite answer
On 2/22/17, my turbo 2 froze and went into a bootloop. I didn't flash anything, root it, or do anything that might void the warranty. After it froze, it went into a boot loop and would not turn on. It would freeze at the motorola logo, and even during recovery mode. The phone would still show some signs of life, but it progressively got worse and worse as time went on. Now, I can't get anything out of it. Even when i plug it in, it doesn't show a battery icon.
I tried charging the phone with the original charger and off of my computer-Nothing.
I tried a wireless charger-Nothing.
I tried power+volume down-Nothing.
I tried holding the power button for a long time-Nothing.
I tried power+volume up-Nothing
I tried all 3 buttons-Nothing.
I tried plugging it in as soon as i pressed the buttons - nothing.
This never happened to me before, and I really don't know what caused it.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
I have the same phone with the same problem. Stock refurbished phone, not rooted. I installed Nougat 7.0 yesterday. Boot loop this morning. Seconds later it shuts off and is completely dead. Nothing is working.
Well color me bummed! Have had the S8 for a few days, stock, only added 3 apps so far, sidesync, Clash of Clans and Lastpass.
Anyway this morning, the phone was at 58% remaining battery, running fine.
Then it beeped a weird tone 3 times, shut down and started blinking a red LED on the phase of the phone.
Samsung support had me hard reset it (which I was going to do but you know for the sake of reporting the problem I went through official support channel)
The hard reset got the phone working, it booted, shows 59% and the red LED which initially did not turn off on reboot has turned off.
So, just fyi for the community, and if you have any feedback on not trusting a device that needs hard reset so early in it's life, let me know.
Oh and the Volume Down + Power Button held down is the reset for the device.
I was messing around plugging and unplugging and my S6 did something similar. Even with a hard reset it came back in the same state-which included a frozen screen. I had to boot into recovery mode then do a factory reset.

Okay, well funny you say that because I was also messing around with the charging too. I specifically was setting it down and taking it off a QI charger from NeWisdom right as I set it down again, it did this. Maybe I did it more than a few times consecutively checking if I was getting fast charge notification.
Just to slap it into this thread, how do you get to recovery? Both volumes and power hold down?

I have had mine reboot itself 3 times, all just after i unplugged it from my PC, so again that might be related to removing a charger (although it hsnt dont it yet when charging properly).
Hei
I have problem with my moto g 4 plus mobile. As yesterday night i was working fine when i awake up the mobile was off.
I try to reset but nothing happened then i recharge it again with orignal charger nothing happened.
Then i remove the battery and plus it again but the same problem came white light start to blink again near to touch button.
White light only blink while charging.
Kindly any solution.

What did you do to 'reset'?
When I've had similar issues, I've held the power and volume up buttons for over a minute and eventually it turned on. If not, then volume down and power for over a minute. If you haven't, try that with and without the charger plugged in.

Mine does this all the time if I let it die you gotta have the oem charger if I recall correctly wish I could find the post about it I wanna say with oem charger you hold vol up or down try either while you plug it in and if you get the charging graphic you wanna then leave it charging for a while then retry the power button it's stuck in some sort of Sahara type mode from what I could see when that happens...let us have a bit more detail when it's plugged in do you see the charging graphics at all? If not and only seeing the LED light I'd bet it's in the mode others have mentioned here if you do then I am not certain but other times I had same prob just left it on charge for couple hours then it finally booted.

I am facing similar problem with my G4 Plus. The difference is that my phone kept on hanging while doing normal tasks and then it used to restart. The weird thing was that while the phone booted up, there this boot animation where a person is doing flips there my phone used to hang and then it restarts. Only after that it used to completely boot up. But after 10-15 mins of usage it used to hang and restart.
One more weird thing that used to happen is that with every restart the battery used to drain drastically.
Then finally the phone died. And while charging the white led kept on blinking.
I took my phone for repair and even they were not able to figure out the problem. They replaced the battery but still the same issue. At the end they said that the problem is with motherboard and needed to be replaced.
Now I'm using Honor 7X but I still have my G4 Plus with me.
If anyone was able to boot up his device then please do reply on this thread.

Hmm, have you tried a firmware re-flash? Here's a stock firmware that should work on XT1643 devices - https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138 You do not have to re-lock the bootloader if you do not wish to (skip the OEM lock begin and OEM lock commands). I would recommend a full device wipe though (using the 'fastboot erase userdata' command) unless there's crucial data you still want to try to save on your G4 Plus. A full wipe however with the full flash should help us troubleshoot.
However, if a firmware flash doesn't work, then it does start to suggest there is a hardware issue. Do you experience reboots if booted to the bootloader or the recovery?
Also, do you recall if the hangs were random or were in a particular app or with a particular task?

I tried to boot my device to fastboot after one and half month, as I was busy with my exams, and fortunately today it booted (Earlier it was not at all booting). But the hang and reboot problem still persists. So, now I'll try to re-flash the firmware and then I'll update about the status.
Currently my device is running on December Patch Firmware.
No, till now no reboots in bootloader and recovery. And yes, I forgot to mention, my recovery is stock. In December I went back to stock from rooted. But the bootloader was not locking. It still has that warning at the starting of boot process.
The reboots were random, it still are. The device is rebooting within 5 minutes of reboot.

Sorry for late reply, I did tried it and also tried to replace the battery but it didn't boot up. So I took my phone to Service Centre where they kept the phone for 2 days and returned the phone saying that the problem is with the motherboard and it has to be replaced.
Hi,
I have a problem with my G4+.
The screen looks black even when turned on however when I shine a torch on the screen I can vaguely see the graphics but not enough to do anything with the phone.
My son suggests a problem with the back light. Is this a known fault and can it be fixed or is it a case of a new phone.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Martin
i got solution
the problem is a flex, it is the one that contains the camera's flash, that flex has a small resistance, when it dies the phone stops charging, your phone is not briqueado just does not charge. replace that flex and the phone charging again

I am facing similar issue with G4 plus. phone's battery was low to about 13%, and was heating up in charging, so i thought to switch it off for faster charging. but its not booting up back after that. white led near fingerprint sensor keeps blinking when i put it to charge. i read this thread and tried the methods of holding power button, or power+volume up, or power+volume down, or power+volume up+volume down. but nothing works. i did all with and without charging. tried all these last night and this morning as well. meanwhile i left the phone in charge over night, for approx 8 hours. no charging screen, not booting up. now what ??
It's the battery.
Go to your nearby Motorola service center and either get your battery replaced, or ask them to boost your battery (if it works you'll save money.)
