Hello frnds,
I just purchased a new g2 off from ebay and updated the phone using lg pc suite and boom!!! the phone stopped detecting any network. On diagonising, i figured out its IMEI became null.
When i purchased, the phone worked well and luckily i have noted down the imei number and the original firmware: D80220e(just could not find this firmware's .kdz anywhere on XDA) . So the first attempt was to reinstate the imei. But the pc just would detect the phone in both QPST and LG PC suite. So i checked online, the imei number belonged to UAE, so I flashed the UAE firmware using .kdz method. The phone went into a boot-loop plus it kept formatting itself with every boot.
Then i tried the indian firmware version, with this the touch drivers seem to have got currupted. it does not detect touch properly.
Then I read somewhere that such things can happen if the firmware flashed is of a different model. So i needed to check the exact model no. of my phone and so i opened by back cover just to find that some parts like antenna, nfc chip, back cover etc had 802 model no. on them while below the battery and on the F touch strip beside it, its given as LS980. Further, the back cover has 802t printed on it. Now i am totally confused what to do.
I had read on a post on XDA that some people are selling G2 for real cheap by mixing the left over spare parts of all g2 models as the model is about to close and hence they are clearing off all inventory. Looks like I am stuck with such a peice.
Please suggest what shall i do. Need help desperately.
My ebay vendor is situated in my city itself and he has more such peices.
Attaching pics, please see them and suggest accordingly.

I bought LG G2 d802 from ebay. the seller gave me a phone that had stickers that named d802, Imei of D802 and everything.
I tried to update the phone. it got stuck in lg logo. I fixed downloadmode after using a tutorial that I found in another forum. so now I have it (I had fastboot mode before)
But, everytime I try to flash the T-mobile KDZ file (D80120E_00), It fails at 2%.
What should I do?
Sorry for my English, Thank you.

Okay guys,
how can you be sure that you both have a D801 instead of a D802?
@theitay-why are you flashing an D801 firmware if you've just said your device is an D802?!?
why aren't you flashing a D802 in download mode?
there is a list of stock firmware available in the general section i believe.
if you can't find it let me know.

Which will tell you to use this site to download firmware: http://storagecow.eu/index.php
and then i download http://storagecow.eu/Xda/LG G2/Stock/Europe OPEN D80220D_00.kdz
this is the Europe Open D80220D Version. i prefer to use this as i know Towel Root works.
Not tried it in H.

I got a new D802 Phone With IMEI matched Box.. But Seller is Fraud. It Have V20B on it... And when I open A webpage it goes to chinese Language...
I have Checked IMEI and its from Thailand.. LTE band 3 1800MHz should be working on it but it didn't accepts it..
After usage of a month.. The screen area of 4 5 6 row in dial pad and other applications stopped working..
I read on XDA that it may be a software problem, Reset my mobile twice and then go for Europe 20H KDZ Flash..
After Flashing My storage becomes 16GB, 10GB showing, All screen unresponsive to touch. Baseband unknown and IMEI null..
I knew this error comes of From wrong version of Firmware flashing..
I TOT flashed SEA 20GB 10C. And Thailand V20C and China Unicom V20C KDZ Flashed.. But all in vain..
So, After discussing in other forms, I have to advised to open my Mobile and physically check motherboard..
When I open it.
Bottom Left D801/ D803 on Black Body,
Sticker of LS980 On Top Right..
But My board is D801, Two from chips with silver encasing and Backside of motherboard also D801..
I Flashed D801 T Mobile KDZ and Storage becomes normal 32GB.. Touch in previous state. All working, except 4 5 6 and Hardware Key control activated..
But Baseband Still unknown and IMEI Null..
I have IMEI writeen in Paper. But is IMEI of Thailand D802. So I can't Use LG Mobile support Tool Also..

so to clarify, you bought a 32GB phone from somewhere and the seller said it was a D802 but it turns out to be a D801?
from my understanding and what the other user has already mentioned, the EFS is messed up.
i don't think i'm allowed to fully discuss this on XDA but i'll try explain. i think you need some sort of back up of the EFS partition from yourself or a blank one.
i had a similar issue with my note 2 and ended up buying an octopus box. i know that the LG G2 is compatible with that box.
you can re write your IMEI. that box cost a lot. i know there have been free tools available, specially for qualcomm devices but i'm no expert in that department though.
other than your IMEI, you have a full working device?

Its refurbished Set, and The Chinese Or Hong Kong person Managed To Put a D802 Thailand IMEI On it... And I thinks either they flashed a D802 Modified rom, Or Use Build.prop Edits to its look like D802..
I have even Checked With 3845#*802# hidden menu...
Check these two pictures also
IMEI isn't a big Issue. Baseband unknown is the real issue...
When Mobile is on It didn't recognized in LG Mobile support tool or LG PC Suit,
But in Download Mode LG mobile support tool recognized it as D802 and Software of D801, Giving option of Upgrade...

Hi, I'm a new member in Xda, but i've been around for a while so I know that if there's a solution to my problem, it'd be probably coming from one of you guys, so thanks in advance ... !
So I bought a new Lg G2 a few days ago, it was in new condition, and both the label and rear cover tell it's a D802 version.
But I 've encountered some weird issues, first, when I type it's imei in imei.info it says it's A SIERRA WIRELESS device...
and lg's ota update center says it's not registered yet.
And yesterday when I tried to root via IOROOT25 method ( Because it's running kitkat 4.4.2) the recovery menu on the G2 shows some 80020c version on the top roght corner of the screen, which probably means it's a D800 model. (But on android info it says d802, and d80220c version....)
So I'd really appreciate some help from you guys, because I really want to root it, and maybe get Lollipop,
Will ioroot Brick it ?
And is there a way to save The Imei because that one feels a little weird and modified...
No one ?
Hi! Welcome to xda!?
I actually had a pretty similar problem on my own g2 (d802)
I bought it from aliexpress, my imei number showd it is a d800 model! But all other stuff in system showd d802..
The first thing you should do is open/ your back cover (there are instructions on YouTube) and check the real model, it sould be on the buttom left corner beneath the battery.
Mine showd it is ad802 but a friend of mine found out that his d802 was a fake one and he really got a d800 (allthough in system info ut showd d802! He bricked his device ?)
Anyways, if you see its a d802 you can use it with no fear i tried several roms on mine and all are perfect! Right now using cloudyg2 3.3 with dorimanx, and battery life is amazing!! ?
Oh and btw, ioroot didnt work for me, i also was on d80020c, but no fear! used stumproot and it worked flawlessly
Good luck! Tell me what you find out

I bought a second hand note 4 which came from abroad... dont know where but the device shows Sprint . The device shows SM N910F in 'about device'. How ever entering recovery the device info shown is SM N910P. I wanted to check for updates but doesnt work. Later i found the IMEI no. is fake ( shows a galaxy tab in imei info). Kies doesnt connect. 'dm- verity verification failed' in recovery mode. The phone is working properly but want to install complete stock. Have downloaded UK based firmware 6.1. via odin but doesnt install. 'About device' shows ' N910FVPU4COG5' (with FVPU) , the nearest i could find on sammobile is N910PVPU4COG5 ( PVPU which shows CDMA)
Please help me get into complete stock with proper IMEI. I dont even know where to start.
I'd recommend getting a refund if you can as there is a high probablity the device you've purchased has been stolen.
Thank you so much for your response. But refund now is not an option now, as I bought second hand from a friend who came from abroad. I need to find a way to repair it myself. Any ideas?

If you take off the battery, the label underneath should have the original IMEI? Is that there? Then you could put that back using the engineering menu.
See if you have the original label under battery.
the label also has fake imei. its the same number that appears in the device.
I checked few sites. What I think is someone is masking SM N910P with SM N910F ( read somewhere F is better than P and is easier to sell). I think my device has gone through same. I tried installing SM N910F original stock but the device didnt accept. I have downloaded SM N910P also but too scared to try as I have come to know that SM N910P is a CDMA. Any suggestions?
There are apps in the Play Store that do imei changing. Read those app descriptions and do some research. DO NOT PAY ANYONE YET TO DO ANYTHING. I am also looking, so i can get back to you what i find. So for it looks that imei changing can be done easily for free. But you just need to know a proper imei - this is the hard part.
Do you think you can peel of the label to see if another is under there? That may have the true imei.....

Looking at your previous posts it looks like you definitrly have a CDMA device, and from Sprint. This is being faked as n910f, which is an international version BUT GSM. The other possibility is described below...
In Verizon note 4, which is CDMA, there are two sim slots. This is required now by law. One is CDMA and other slot is GSM or actually meant for sim when abroad I think Sprint also is the same. I have Vefizon. Verizon phones are also facgory unlocked. If you are using GSM maybe try switching sim slots. In this case yiur phone has been flashed with international version firmware so it can be recognised on gsm networks. If you have a GSM sim try both sim slots.
EDIT: I checked this and I think Slrint does not have two sims.
Go to this site and post the problem. You will def grt an answer

You are not alone, I got that kind of device too, with same build number as yours. My goal is to put a sprint custom rom and I use miui, but as soon as I install twrp the device got bootloop, I back-up the rom and install miui, now it works perfect, even 99000 imei (maybe the original imei) appears.

Well, this thread about refurbished phones says:
The only way to be 100% sure of your model is to remove the motherboard and check the number on the unit itself. While the IMEI, stamps and battery cover can all be modified or changed, the marking on the back of the motherboard cannot be so this method is the most reliable method of checking your model.
Hi guys,
I previously had a d800 whose main board got fried and after failing to get it repaired from several local repair shops i finally planned to get a completely new main board and got a d802 used board from a repair shop since i couldn't find a d800 board anywhere.
Now, the phone came with d80220b rom installed and it was working perfectly. Just for curiosity, i went into recovery through "adb reboot recovery" and the recovery said d803B20e (Bell Canada D803). I realized that the previous owner installed a d802 rom on d803.
Since, the rom didn't had knock code features (knock on/off worked perfectly), I flashed a D803B20G kdz to my phone with LGUP tool and it flashed without problems and the rom was working without problems.
Then, I searched internet on several imei info/data websites with my imei and they all listed my phone as D802 with releasing country as UAE (even on LG's own website). So, i thought that i got lucky that d803 rom accidentally worked without any issues and my phone really is a D802.
I again flashed a UAE D80220C kdz and it also flashed without problems, the rom also booted up fine but the touch started acting weird, touching someplace else would register the touch elsewhere.
So, my question is that is the imei and LG's website showing wrong that my phone is a d802 with UAE as origin country?
