Double Tap To Wake on Marshmallow? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Running the latest pure Nexus and am curious if there are any kernels that support DT2W.

If you find the answer to this I would be interested also.

"Knock On" in Custom Roms

Hello everyone. I have flashed the stable CM 10.2 rom that was just released today on my LG G2 [D802].
One of the main feature of G2 that i loved was the "Knock On" for locking and unlocking the screen.
In this Cyanogenmod double tap to unlock works but double tap on homescreen/status bar does not lock the phone.
Anyone out there know how to fix this?
Another thing is how do i get to use the IR Blaster as my TV Remote? Where can i find a compatible software like the one that was provided by LG.
Thank You

Unfortunately, for the time being, only knock-on works in AOSP roms. This is a result of the difference in implementation between the knock-on and knock-off features; namely, knock-on is a kernel-level feature while knock-off is an OS-level feature. As a workaround, people have been either using custom gestures available in Nova Launcher or adding a toggle to the quick settings menu.
For the IR Blaster, you should be able to find everything you need here.
Thanks! Appreciate the help.
Screen off and lock app will turn the screen off with a swipe up. That's what I've been using on the PA KiTKat Rom.

[AOKP KK] [LG G2, D802] Unable to enable or find expanded volume panel

Last week I downloaded the most recent AOKP official ROM and loved it but something seemed off. Today I found that I can't seem to access the expanded volume panel that I had in the stock ROM. Anyone know if this is a bug or just not implemented yet? I can't Google or find anything about it at all.

I used AOKP before and I dont remember they had expandable volume control so I just use xposed for that feature, and other features as well.

Not really needed as with moto display or cmactions you can just pick it up and swipe.
Not yet, the squid kernel enables LED notification wich is also helpful

Xposed Module Recommendations for particular features I want?

I just rooted my new 6P and am looking to add features with a module. In particular, I want split screen and/or multi window, customizable navigation bar (with a notification drawer button), double tap to wake and sleep, and a one-handed mode where the screen shrinks down to a lower corner a la LG V10. Can anyone recommend a module or modules to flash that'd give me these features?
Anything that would help boost battery life would be welcome too.

I would suggest the Benzo ROM for your nexus 6p which has those mods.
GravityBox and Niwatori One-Handed Mode for the nav bar and one-handed tweaks.
Split-screen is built into Marshmallow, enabled by a line of build.prop code, but is nowhere near handy. Might want to check out some videos before deciding to enable it.

Slimrecents not working as intended on AOSP ROMs?

I recently switched from PureNexus MM to Nougat to fix a bluetooth issue. Now that it's fixed, I figured it's time to find a ROM that would fit my usage. One feature that I can not live without is SlimRecents. I was sad to see that it's not included on Pure Nexus Nougat so I tried a few others. But I noticed that it wasn't working like how it did on MM. After trying out numerous ROMs, I've come to the conclusion that AOSP based ROMs aren't implementing SlimRecents as how SlimROMs intended. The LineageOS based AICP does however.
The intended behavior of SlimRecents is when you tap the recents button, it opens the SlimRecents side menu. Tapping it again will close it. Whatever foreground app you're on will always stay in focus. Here's a video of how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xltWTcR8hS4
However, on the AOSP ROMs I've tried (Ressurection Remix, Screw'd, and Nitrogen), it perfoms like how the stock AOSP recents does. Tapping the button will open SlimRecents but tapping it again will cycle you back to the previous app. I feel like Slimrecents was created to act as a "peek recents" where you peek to see where you want to go and then close it out. This is the behavior that's not working as intended: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoDdxXmBFLc
I've checked with SlimROMs on Google+ and they mentioned that it should NOT cycle back to the previous app, it should just open and close with each press, granted you don't have a double tap action assigned.
I think double tap last app is a default nougat feature just like split window mode. Unless you assign something to override or disable it.

In the video, i'm not double tapping it. I give it enough time in between where it's a single tap.
They're both in Nougat, or is the first one on Marshmallow?
It is Nougat's default behavior to switch the last opened app no matter how fast you click it or how slow.

Both are in Nougat, the first video working correclty is on AICP ROM (LineageOS based). That's how it's supposed to work and is what SlimROM's Nougat ROM does as well. SlimRecents is a "peeking recents" style, it just doesn't make sense for it to switch to the last app. That's why I LOVE it
Yeah, I'm new to Nougat and absolutely do not understand why it's the way it is. A quick double tap of the recents button already is set to go to your last app, why would they be redundant on making the second delayed press go back to the last app too?
I'm curious what most people are using. AOSP, OmniRecents or SlimRecents?
